God really should have reconsidered making werewolves. That, or Lyssa needed to get better taste in men and stay away from those with wandering eyes ... and other things. Drunk as a wolf, she stumbles to her best friend's house to sleep off her whiskey induced haze and wakes to ... cuffs.... Caleb sees his chance and takes it. His buddies on the force ribbed him but good for buying silver plated cuffs. But with a werewolf in his bed, the woman he's yearned for since they were teens, he wasn't taking any chances. Lyssa was his. She just didn't know it yet.

Hands down awesome book! It may be a 2012 release but My God it was just fantastic. Short, sexy, full of everything I love about Celia Kyle's work, and her shifter stories are one of the best I've read for years.
Lyssa is a wolf shifter and she finds her boyfriend, dick deep into another woman, on their bed. How she did not kill him on the spot I would never know. She showed a lot of self-restraint when she walked away from that situation. The 4 bottles of alcohol after that, wasn't such a great idea.
Caleb is phenomenal. I love him to pieces. Not only does he have everything ready for this situation but also, he has been waiting on Lyssa for years, literally. I would have never thought of what he used to make her not noticing something important about their relationship but it was clever.
What can I say? I love this freaking book. From Lyssa not killing her ex-boyfriend to Caleb having silver cuffs to keep her when he wanted her to be until all was said and done. I also love the neighbors calling the cops on a cop (Caleb) because of "noise complains".
51 pages of awesomeness. I just wish I could get my hands on a printed copy, sadly there's only the digital version of the book now.
I would recommend this book time and time again. If you like hot, shifter romances, fated mates, a fiery-tempered female, and a cop with cuffs ready to be used on said female, pick this book up.
This had me cracking up! Why? So many reasons the whole hand cuff thing was beyond funny then throw in his special sent, all things her. Wolf said and then the girl showing up a lyssa loosing it. Loved this.
I understand this is a short story, but that ending was lacking. I live Celia Kyle but I need more resolution than that. Otherwise I was along for the ride.
While the story left me wanting it was basically a good book. A little over sexed but easily bypassed to get to the heart of the book. More like a short story than a novel.
I love this author and will gladly read anything that I find from her collection. I haven’t read any other books in this series, but it really didn’t matter. This book reads well as a standalone short.
Lyssa walked in on her longtime live-in boyfriend having sex with someone else. Being a werewolf, there really was no hiding his indiscretion, but she was a little hurt that he chose a human to cheat on her with. After appropriately drowning her sorrows in a few bottles of booze, she ends up at her best friend’s house, who also happens to be a guy who has loved her forever. Rather than saddling her with a mate at 13 (when Lyssa first smelled him and went bonkers), he has been wearing a cologne to block his scent from her until he thought the time was right. Apparently the time has officially become right.
Sure, there’s not a lot of backstory or build up, but the smutty scenes are enjoyable and I always love a little paranormal twist. This was a fun read for the casual paranormal smut fan.
I am confused. Was Caleb a human or a wolf? Also, seventeen years is a really, really long time to harbor unrequited or unrecognized love. However, I loved the concept of the story though, and Celia Kyle can write amazing scenes that keep you riveted. I guess I was just surprised by some of these story elements. This author never disappoints me!
Short, smutty fluff, a werewolf finding the mate she wanted right under her nose. And a pair of cuffs in silver. Loved it. I´m a sucker for shifters and alpha males. *rawr*
2.5 stars, I guess. 1. She said she was going to make her boyfriend and playmate pay, but she didn't - at all. 2. He waited 17 years to let her smell him again, really?!?
This was a cute and funny short story. I like Celia Kyle's writing style. Humor, dramatic tension, steam...even her novellas have it all packed in there.
