To stop a killer, would you become one?

An On the Prowl story.

Aislyn used to have a life, a family and a home until a witch on a mission shattered everything in one night with a spell. Now Aislyn is on the run, holed up in Denver, and fighting the Changes that ravage her body and mind while struggling to keep her humanity.

Jackson Havens is a ghost hunter short on cash. All he needs is quick proof that Aislyn is the Ghost Cat Killer, and he can get back to his day job. Taryn Blackthorne was born in Nova Scotia. She learned how to read before she started school, often making up stories to entertain her friends. In fifth grade, she was sent back to her desk to write instead of doing her math…because her teacher wanted to see what happened next. Since then, Taryn hasn’t stopped. She divides her time between her family (including fur babies), her keyboard, and her teaching.

Let's just say that there was a lot of potential here but it fell a little flat. Like, I get the feeling this is beginning of a much bigger story but it left so many dangling threads that it was confusing. Overall, without the next story to flesh things out, I'd say that you should give this one a pass.

Tracking down a rogue shifter, Jackson finds himself in hot water when the witch he's contracted to bring the shifter to double crosses him and leaves him mystically bound to the shifter in question. Forcibly turned, Aislyn is struggling to control the urges of the cat that dwells inside her. To make matters worse, she's beginning to think she may be the serial killer terrorizing the city. I guess I'd consider reading a sequel just to see if it cleared up any of the multitudes of questions this story left behind.

Aislyn is on the run, hiding from the Ghost Cat Killer and terrified that the memory loss she´s suffering from could mean that she herself is the Ghost Cat Killer. Jackson is hired to track and bag her.
3,5 Stars, feels like there´s a sequel out there somewhere.
