Luke took great care with the picture of Jesus he was about to present. We read of this in the first verses of his Gospel. In order to write, he looks at what others have already written, and he checks and rechecks his facts. He does this so that any who read of Jesus through his words can be sure of the truthfulness of what he writes. And what a picture of Jesus he gives. As we read through Luke’s Gospel together we will find that Jesus is nothing less than the light of revelation to the nations, and the glory of God’s people Israel.
