So some silly kid, I think his name was Teddy, messes about with some chemicals and manages to blow up the second floor of the science building at Grant University, killing himself and trapping numerous other people in the rubble.
Jeremy nearly dies, his heart stops twice on the operating table. Will gets trapped by falling debris and Susannah worries that he'll die. Margot falls from a balance beam because she's anorexic and dehydrated, and spends the rest of the book trying to escape from the hospital because she doesn't want to eat. Sam ends up taking Margot to the hospital twice. Sid helps dig people out of the rubble, even though he's in a wheelchair. Damon finds his father in the rubble.

Again though, would they really let 17-year-olds dig people out of the ruins of an exploded building? It seems unlikely to me. Or maybe they would back when this was written. Nowadays the amount of paperwork that would be involved and the insurance would make it impossible.

I read these when I was a "tweener," and plan to read them again at the and of this summer. I ordered all 6 from Goodwill's across the country, Jenson's Books, Once Upon a Time Books, etc.

It took me YEARS to remember this series! To find it again, ohhh...I am SO elated! 😊😁

I will edit these reviews once I re-read, as it has been almost a quarter century (omg, I'm getting old! XP)

This is the 4th book of the series I have read (I haven't been reading in order) and my least favorite so far. This one didn't keep me turning the page and I had to force myself to read it.

This was one of six books in the series and I loved them as a teen; I still pick them up off my shelf and read them. They fascinated me with the medical drama going on with those my age and that teens were able to do procedures that in real life, it wouldn't be allowed. I feel in love with these books and sought them out. If you can suspend your concept of reality, you'll find drama, excitement, romance and more. It is even more enjoyable if you like medical fiction.
