She fucked up every plan I ever had the minute she walked into our club. She’s scantily dressed and unaware of who we are. Monsters. My brother and I, are pure evil, I can’t deny it. But Morgan fucking Lexington, the lost little lamb, knows not what we are. Sadly, she’s about to find out, when I welcome her to hell. Please Mastering Morgan contains mature content such as coarse language, sexual relations, vulgar ideologies, and sex trade subject matter. 18+ READER DISCRETION ADVISED
💔A tale of hatred and revenge, love and redemption, Mastering Morgan is hands down one of the best romances I've read in quite a while. Dark, twisted and absolutely addictive! The kind with all the feels!! (*sigh*) It swept me off my feet.🖤 And I'm not kidding when I say it. It's really THAT GOOD!
Two brothers, one girl, zero rules.
The Romero brothers, Lincoln and Lucca, own and run a fast paced night club and a hotel together. One where shady stuff happens to be at the order of the day, especially because of Lincoln, who's technically the boss. And just to make it clear, Lincoln Romero is a monster. A man who takes pleasure in the pain of others, women in particular. And he won't hesitate in the slightest to make even his own brother's life a living hell if that's how his mood strikes.
Lucca on the other hand, is a girl's dream come true! Gentle and honorable, despite believing himself to be the same caliber of pure evil as his brother. He's the one cleaning his brother's messes and making sure all loose ends are tied. Because no one disobeys Lincoln Romero, or there'll be hell to pay. And no one knows that better than Lucca, who's been turned into the perfect example. He only needs to look at his fingers and try to do something as simple as tying a knot and an intense flood of pain will shoot up his palms reminding him of the hammer that crushed them. One by one! Because he disobeyed his brother. But never again.
Until Morgan Lexington. A lost little lamb caught in the wrong company, wrong place and wrong time. Another one of Lincoln's loose ends that Lucca is supposed to clean up. But the more time he spends around her, the more Lucca is reminded of all that he'd lost. Because little Miss Lexington is a woman unlike any he had ever met.
At first look, she's a hot mess. No parents, an incurable disease, a now missing friend in a city she knows nobody else in and top of the list of Lucca's evil brother, who thinks she's fair game. Morgan has Multiple Sclerosis and the disease had already started to affect her. To top it off, she seems to have no one in the world to rely on, which turns her into a very easy to clean up loose end. Except that Lucca can't help but feel for and admire the little spitfire.
'So much fight for such a small damaged girl...'
Morgan won't take anyone's pity and will fight tooth and nail for her freedom. Even if that means driving a sharp heel through the foot of a tough guy thrice her size. Even if that means facing the aftermath of a seizure that turns her into a shaking, drooling mess on the floor in front of the man who's holding her hostage and refusing his help. And even if that means trying things that may be impossible to achieve in her condition.
If she's gonna lose her mobility and cognitive functions over the next twenty years she might as well live it up while she can. That is Morgan's motto. And Lucca can't help but admire her for it.
'She's like the light at the end of a very dark hallway.'
But not for long if Lincoln is allowed to have his way. He's planning to test Morgan's limits and destroy her, while expecting Lucca to stand by and let him. But this time, Lucca won't. And he's got only 12 days to figure out how to get the little spitfire out of his evil twin's hands.
As things get more and more ugly not only for Morgan and Lucca but Lincoln too, they will all be eventually forced to play the biggest game of their lives. One that requires nothing short of being ALL IN.
Fast paced and full of twists and turns you simply don't see coming, this book deals with dark topics like sex trade, addiction, and disability. And I've got to hand it to the author. It's brilliantly done!
The action is edge of the seat, the characters are wonderfully well written and the feelings leap from the page. Everything naturally flowing and vividly described. Kudos to the author for beautifully pulling all this off. But what impressed me even more was the delicate balance in between darkness and light. - The dark and dangerous personalities of the Romero brothers as opposed to the sweetness and determination of Morgan. - The heartbreaking pain and the fun witty banter. - Strength and weakness, love and hate, revenge and redemption...
Everything is beautifully balanced and masterfully entwined into a tale where monsters are not fully evil and knights not quite as white.
Mastering Morgan made me fall in love with a little brave woman determined to live her life to the fullest despite being disabled; with a broken man who dared to stare death in the eye to atone for past mistakes; with two broken people who ultimately healed not only themselves but also those around them because they had the strength to follow a dream.
After all... if a man with broken fingers and a woman who doesn't feel pain properly can still practice Shibaru together because, even if it's practically impossible, they try their damnedest to do it... why wouldn't anyone else be able to chase a dream and succeed?
Dark and heartbreaking but also sweet and gentle, Mastering Morgan is an unforgettable tale I read in one sitting and added straight onto my shelf of all-time favorites, right alongside the books of Jordan Marie and Tillie Cole
If you are a fan of dark romance, you have got to give this a try!
I guarantee you won't regret it.
Happy reading everyone and remember: live it up while you can.
Morgan ends up at Lucca and Lincoln's club one night. Morgan suffering from a debilitating illness falls asleep and Lucca takes it upon himself too look after her.
Lincoln is the evil brother who sets his sights on Morgan and wants to use her as a hooker.
Luccas feelings for Morgan and vice versa is angsty, turbulent and hot.
This is an addictive read, and after reading Tainted Love i was not disappointed yet again. I love how she wrote the Bdsm into the book, its just all flowed together.
The ending was so unexpected and all the secrets came out.
“Show me, Lucca. I want to be your Shibari canvas.”
Wow, where to start. First off, I loved how the author wrote this in a dual POV, but it wasn’t your typical. The story is about two twin bothers. One “good” and one “bad” she wrote the story with both their perspectives. Very well written!
Lucca, the twin that is “good” he’s got the sex appeal. The instinct to protect, not harm. And let’s not forget he has an art in Shibari (sexual, erotic bondage)
Lincoln (Link), the twin that is “bad” but let’s just say I was secretly rooting for him on the sidelines. ;)
The whole story was unique because I felt like each brother had their own story to tell and each one had their own battles to fight... get ready for a ride of some twists and steamy pleasure. Let’s not forget about the ladies in the story too. I loved Morgan, this poor girl. Lilly was also a fantastic addition to the story.
Highly recommend 💫 *Review is for new edition, released 2/10/2021*
It took me a while to gather my thoughts on this book. I have previously read RC Christiansen's Tainted Love series, but personally, I think this book blew that series out of the water.
Christiansen is a master at delicately writing about the dark side of life. Case in point, this book discussed the sex trade, addiction, and disabilities. The last one is what stuck with me. It is so unusual to see a disability in a romance novel, let alone one that is spoken about in a way that doesn't look for pity, or as an oddity. Morgan is in control of her life, and she isn't going to let a minor part of who she is slow her down. It was beautiful. I don't think I can write much more than that without getting emotional.
Lucca was a wonderful man to contrast Morgan's strength, and that plot twist at the end OH MY GOD.

Entertaining. Enthralling. Endearing Only pick this book up if you want to escape the monotony of a quarantined life. The story is well written. The characters are likeable and life like. Do yourself a favor and read this book. It's hot, sexy and has a plot you can sink your teeth into. The author does a fantastic job of developing the story and drawing you in. I enjoyed this book and will be looking out for more books by this author.
This book, from the creator of the Tainted Love series, is one of their older works and a fairly quick read at 225 pages. I love this author’s work, so I was intrigued to see what they would do with an erotic book, based around the thorny subject of the sex trade. Please Note: the trigger warnings are there for a reason. Please take heed of them.
This story isn’t really about Morgan, although she does feature a lot. Don’t read this book hoping it will be balls-to-wall shibari erotica. It isn’t. It’s mainly about the relationship between two brothers, Lucca and Lincoln, who are enmeshed in the murky world of providing women for high-rolling clients, and asking no questions about how they are procured.
Morgan, the “little lamb,” of the story, is prized by Lincoln, who has no morals whatsoever, but coveted by Lucca, who wants to save her from what he sees as a fate worse than death. Because she suffers from MS, he feels protective towards her, knowing that Lincoln won’t let a small thing like serious illness stop him from possessing her.
This brings him in direct conflict with Lincoln, who is nursing a broken heart after the departure of his favoured woman, Lilly. There’s a kicker of a twist and a nail-biting finish, which may or may not be a happy ending, depending on how you look at it.
I loved this story. It was maybe a little rough around the edges in the beginning, especially as we are getting to know Lucca and Lincoln, and how repellant their world is. Lucca isn’t so bad but Lincoln is a hard man to like. One thing to understand with this author’s stories is they will always be uncompromising, making you feel for someone you really should hate, and they’ve done it again with these characters.
I loved the tension-filled poker game, and the nefarious characters who slip in and out of the story. And the ending is just so surprising. Lincoln does have a redemption arc, but it’s up to the reader to decide whether it is too little, too late. Morgan does get the answers she’s been seeking, and the peace she deserves. Possibly. Maybe. I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.
As with Tainted Love, the writing is fantastic, the dialogue and scene-setting sharp and entertaining, with characters that will frustrate and delight you in turn. It’s a wild ride that might make you feel slightly queasy, but then you’ll want to do it all again!
You’ll love it or hate it … or perhaps both. I truly don’t know how to rate this story. I nearly put it down after half an hour because I hated Lincoln, the more monstrous of the two brothers, and I didn’t take to Lucca either. But I couldn’t put it down; Morgan’s frailty enticed me in, and I wanted to see her rescued. From first to last, I was dragged along, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages, despite not liking the directions it was heading. Early on I just wanted Morgan to run away, but mid-way through I learned the reason why she had to remain entangled with the brothers. The journey escalated towards the climax, and then I was left without the ending I’d hoped for. This book was like a harmful addiction … I wanted to put it down, but it gave me a buzz. And, when it ended, I needed some more. I want to score it a 1, but I have to give it a 5. I haven’t read another book quite like it.
Mastering Morgan is a gripping dark romance about Morgan, a woman with an illness that causes sensory issues (among other things, but one is that she doesn't feel pain properly), and how she ends up in the clutches of two shady brothers. One, however, is protective, whereas the other... not so much.
This is a visceral story with a lot of feeling, featuring dark moments as much as it does steamy hot ones. It is paced well, grips you from the start, and never lets go. The quality of the writing is top-notch, and the characters are all intriguing, if not always likeable (Lincoln, for example), but this only proves the author's ability to create a wide range of characters.
So, for anyone looking for a fabulously dark contemporary romance, look no further. Just make sure to check out those triggers. They are there for a reason.
