The purpose behind this book is to encourage learner interaction with language. It is a series of mind maps which the students then complete and illustrate. In this sense mind maps are perfect vehicles to encourage such interaction. By using this material the students are building a portfolio of experience and exposure to language. The book encourages classroom creativity and language use. It helps develop self esteem in students and a feeling of achievement and self worth often sadly lacking in adults with limited literacy skills.
