First off, I have to say that I really did enjoy this book. I'd never read a whole story that was told through chat or IM (though many of you will know the TTYL series by Lauren Myracle). This type of writing makes the book go by fast, which is a good thing sometimes...especially if you are looking for an amusing, quick read to fill your time. It would also be great for semi-readers (the ones that only crack a book every now and then) as it would hopefully keep their interest.

As for the actual story, Bliss and Tamra are two friends who are completely in love with their respective boyfriends, Mitch and Beau. However, their dear friend, Annie, is a cynic when it comes to love and she decides that they should test the boys. The girls all come together (with a friend of the boys', Johnson) to hatch a scheme.

They say that Bliss is out of town helping her grandma and Tamra went with her. While they are "missing," Johnson reveals his summer homework to the boys...a chat room for the exchange students going to their school in the fall. Guess what's going to happen? That's right! Bliss and Tamra disguise themselves as Bridget and Tatiana.

The big twist, of course, is that the girls are going to flirt with their friend's boyfriend and not their own to see what they do while their real-life girlfriends are away. Mixed in with this, you start getting some insight into Annie and Johnson's love lives as well. Are they really going to be cynics for the rest of their lives? Maybe...at least in high school, perhaps.

This is definitely a fun concept for a book and it's something I could see some girls actually trying (though please don't; I really felt bad for these boys!). ENTR@PMENT was definitely a funny book that I enjoyed and would recommend.

I dnfed this after only a couple pages. I just couldn’t get into this and since I’m already slightly in a slump I don’t want to push it even further.

I just couldn’t get into how this was set up and it was all very one toned. It didn’t feel like more than one person was talking. Also it was too similar in concept to TTYL, L8R G8R, etc. And just wasn’t for me

This book was quite a fun to read. It reminded me of 'me' as I did the same thing that Annie did here in the name of experiment. I was lonely, cynical and a bit rough then.

Well, to come back to the original story here- The idea and plotting were charming. Though it was not developed properly in the middle-game. Do men fall in love on net so easily? Do they?? Mitchell, being a chessman, should have guessed the game. But then again, people lose their usual IQ in love or they lose love to their IQ. The author rushed to the ending and made it 'Peace and Joy' forcefully. The main charm of this book I would say is 'Your Uncle Jerry's Blog'.

i got this book at a thrift store a few years ago and i never finished reading it and i needed a palate cleanser.

this is another one of those books that rely on IM messages to tell a story and no matter how bad it is, i read it. i don’t know why i like these kinds of books— most likely because it features internet stuff and it’s easy to read.

this book features two girls that are challenged to a bet by their mean goth friend. the bet is to prove that men are horrible nasty creatures and they will cheat on their girlfriends without hesitation. the two girls pretend to be foreign exchange students and they speak to their friends’ boyfriend to see if they will fall in love with her.

confusing, right?

there are no good characters in this book. they are all cruel and don’t seem to care that much about their friends and boyfriends. SPOILER (i mean the girls literally considered making their character commit suicide). everyone sucks but this book was kinda fun to read i guess.

i don’t really suggest this. this book aged horribly and just didn’t do much for me.

Entrapment features 6 teenagers - Annie, Bliss, Tamra, Johnson, Mitch, and Beau. It highlights their texts and emails as the girls test their boyfriends to see how loyal they are.

I wasn't a fan of the concept and the characters were overly dramatic and it just didn't seem worth reading after a while so I stopped. I also don't think this book deserves much of my time to write a review either.

Although this book was mostly with dialogues, but it was still hard to read. It started with this two cute couples named Beau and T, Mitch and Bliss. Those couples are way different, Beau is football player and T is a smart girl, while Mitch is a chess player and Bliss is a cheerleader. Over the summer, those girls made a deal with Annie who has huge hatre torward guys, because she broke up with one she loved most. The deal was that T and Bliss is suppost to pretend they are going away and making a new account to attract Mitch and Beau to see will they fall for the trick of falling in love with two different and foreign girls over their beloved girlfriends. Their plan worked perfectly fine, the only small flaw was when mitch had a little question about them being so awkward. They were just chatting for over 3 to 4 weeks until Mitch and Beau both rejected the foreign girls and their reasons was because they loved their girlfriends, as known as Bliss and T too much. It was a happy ending where those boys keeps their girlfriends and where annie learned a valuable lesson on learning to respect boys more.
I thought this book itself was quite interesting, especially the way it was written in, since the story mostly takes place in a chatroom their words were all in chatmode. I thought it was an easy book to read because i understanded most of the content, but it did took me a while to read since it was so long. I also thought that love shouldn't have a doubt to, because different people treats the love or the love ones differently. Some people over love them and some just doesn't care and use those that loves them. I thought i can relate to T, because i'm a do most of my work and complete them like her, but i will never follow such a ridiculous bet with my friend if there was one, because i know the limit of a bet. This was just too over for a bet. I would recommand this book to high schoolers, because it taught me a lot about trust and friendship and how we should treasure it as much as we can before we break that bond and end up hurting everyone around us and ourselves. Overall this was a great book to read due to the interesting contents of the way this author portraits the characters through a chat.

While I'm not in love with it, I do enjoy the very streamlined way of reading it.

Two major things stick out for me: the relationship drama and the gender stereotypes. The former I can live with (in small doses), as it can be a very memorable and/or inspiring time in one's life. The latter, however, bugs me to no end. While I don't expect every person to treat every other person with respect, I do expect at least one person to not be a talking stereotype.

Without going off on a rampage, I'll just say this: females aren't all feminine and males aren't all masculine. Even though Annie sticks out as the least "feminine," she still fits way too nicely into the "girl" box with Tamra and Bliss. The same can be said for Johnson, Beau, and Mitch fitting way too nicely into the "boy" box. Not helping matters is the "trying to be hip/no cooties allowed" tone of the two groups' chat rooms.

To sum it up, the characters are romanticized versions of people, the plot is predictable sitcom drama, and the gender binary is emphasized WAY too much. However, it's not agonizing to read, and the dialogue-only style created by the chat logs makes things go by pretty quickly.

Check it out if you're bored, but don't worry about passing it by. There is much better high school fiction, much better chat room writing, and much better combinations of the two.

*4.4 stars*

It was very well written, but the ending is very obvious from the start, of course the guys cheat on them after all (if not the story wouldn't be interesting!), and of course the mean old tough guy with multiple girlfriends, ends up "changing his ways" and falling in love with the hurt, and odd shy girl. other than that interesting idea, and i love how defined the characters are.

The plot basically is, these two girls bet their best friend that their boyfriends would never cheat if they had the chance to. So they each try to make the other's boyfriends "cheat" on them via IM. The tough guy (*name*) tells the girls boyfriends that they are a part of a new foreign exchange student IM chat with two girls that are transferring to their high school. The way the girls get away with it is they say the are "away" helping out one of their Grandma's. They then go on IM and are able to convince the two guys to "virtual marry" the foreign exchange students. Which pretty much means that they "virtually cheated".

In the end all is well though. They forgive the boys and get on with their lives. *name* and *name* end up going out. and its a pretty happy ending.

(my YA Galley pre-published review)

The most compelling aspect was the looming question of if, or when, the boys would find out who the foreign exchange students in the chat room were. There was also the extra little story line of what happened to Annie in her past relationship and what was going to happen in the future between her and Johnson.

I was not disappointed with this book to a great extent, except for the ending, because the characters all resolve their conflicts with each other without having learned anything, just by saying sorry. It does not ever point out that maybe the guys were not the only one at fault; perhaps the girls were cruel to set up such a trap. The end could have easily been further develop to make a point about the reality of online relationships versus face-to-face relationships. In addition, I felt that the story about the horrible relationship Annie had with her old boyfriend could have been revealed slower and containing more details. If little details had come up through the conversation one by one, it would have made it like a mini mystery for the reader to find out, adding more suspense.

This wasn't that great (under the heading of a book in internet style...). If you want a book in internet style read serafina67 *urgently requires life*

I hated it because of how horrible the characters were to each other. Basically, two girls decide to see if their boyfriends would really be faithful to them while they were gone, so they set up a trap. They both pretend to be foreign girls on the internet and hit on each other's boyfriends. They will stop at nothing to make the guys hit on them and say how much they love them. In the end, the boys both start to fall in love with "Bridget" and "Tatiana", and when the girls confront them, they are the ones apologizing. I mean really! Would you ever do that to your loved one??
Please don't read this, it was a waste of my time and it will probably be a waste of your time too.

This was by far the worst book I have ever read. The plot is fairly simple, a group of girls pretend to be foreign babes from Europe and hit on each others boyfriends, the boyfriends eventually take the bait and everyone laughs it off. You can't take this book seriously because the entire thing takes place in a chat room with people typing in 'text chat'. There isn't really a protagonist of the book, everyone is pretty equally represented. I feel bad for anyone who is unfortunate enough to read through this poor excuse of a book. Even if you're into this kind of high school drama garbage there are much better choices out their that are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than this landfill. Also, this book isn't funny in the slightest, the only thing funny about this book is how bad it is. But, if you actually liked this book, you might also like R U 4 Real by Sara Kadefors, its also a teen romance book that takes place in a chat-room.

It was an interesting and quick read, but I don't feel that there's a lot to say about this book. I liked that it was done in email and occasional text format. I just didn't find myself believing the ''real'' relationships. I also didn't relate to the characters. Annie drove me absolutely CRAZY. Mitchell was... well... meh. The only character I really liked was Beau. Unless we're counting the ''fake characters,'' then I liked Bridget.

It's memorable simply for the fact that it had a unique format. Otherwise? Forgetable.

I saw this in a bookstore and was intrigued by the idea of a book written in chat. It was a pretty interesting read. I thought the charachters sometimes seemed a little 'old' for high school, but it's been a number of years since I've been in HS so I could be wrong. I didn't like how it ended. It seemed like it was leading toward self discovery and change and at the end of the book I couldn't see that the charachters had really changed much.

I've never reviewed a book before, so this will probably be fairly short and horribly written. I only gave this book three stars, not because of its plot or characters, but because it was difficult to read some of the "text talk." I think this book would have been better if there was more then just the IM's, like paragraphs after the chats in each persons point of view? I don't know. It just seemed like she had a great plot idea but didn't develop it enough.

Honestly, getting through this book was painful. The plot does not move anywhere, and none of the characters are likeable. The main idea of the book is okay, but the book itself has very little potential. I did not like this book at all.
