When the cat's away... Wraith has vanished for a year (see The Full Metal Superhero Book 9 for details). When she finally returns to New Orleans, the criminals are back to "business as usual." Without ISO-1 to control the area, the Russian mob—otherwise known as the Vory—has moved in and taken over the city... Literally. Now, Madi, Krisan, and her other allies must battle the supervillains of the Vory and the misguided superhero, Seraph, while also protecting a family the Vory have kidnapped from Argentina. With everyone trying to kill her, Madi needs to be more than a vigilante—she needs to become the top of the Big Easy's food chain. Or someone else will.

Award-winning Journalist and USA Today bestselling author Jeffery H. Haskell thinks he should always be himself… unless he can be Spider-Man. Then, he should be Spidey. He’s a lifelong lover of comic books and science fiction, and he owns his geek status by quoting Aliens and Star Trek at every given opportunity. When he realized he could make a living writing about his obsessions, he jumped at the chance. With the incredible support of his amazing wife and spectacular children, Jeffery lives the dream of bringing his imagination to the page and on occasion, he writes about love and marriage.
This one felt a little different in its approach to the characters but I love this Haskellverse thing the author has going on. These Wraith books are good but violent. They are not for little kids but are still somehow not offensive. The author walks a fine line between gritty and appropriate and he does it well. If you like superhero books, this is a dark series. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I’m ready for the next book in the series to hurry up and be here.
What a solid book. Its been a while since I read his books and I really enjoyed book 5. Madi's powers as the Wraith are awesome. Unless my Kindle version robbed me some pages i did felt it just ending out of the blue. Is this part of a new set of books. I don't know. Usually these books have an epilogue or tease so that abrupt ending took me by surprise. Loved the special cameo. Anyways a good book and can't wait to see what the author does next with the character
There is something enjoyable about a vigilante that not only has no qualms about killing truly bad guys but actually gets stronger with each kill. This latest story stays true to the character and just enough mystery and surprises to keep the action and adventure moving forward.
This is a good addition to the series the link up with the parrallel Arsenal series is intersting, did throw me a little when I started the book as there are references to a passing of time and events that must have happent in the Arsenal series, at first I thought I'd missed a Wraith book. Probably now need to read the Arsenal series. Will need to wait a while as I have a number of other books on the go.
