Elements you are likely to find in my work include: moustachioed melodrama villains, whips, wisecracks, knights in tarnished armour, damsels under duress, lovers, leather, aquiline features, references to popular songs. I massively overuse qualifiers like ‘really’, ‘quite’, ‘actually’ etc. and can’t resist the temptation to substitute long words for ‘said’. Reviewers either rave or cringe, with very little middle reactive ground (insert Marmite cliche here). Which will you do?

By His Command is the second book in a series, however, I did not feel that I missed too much not having read the first book. This is a BDSM erotic novella, but there are some romance aspects to it. It is well written, and while not every detail worked for me, the story did flow nicely and was well paced.

I very much liked the main characters, Jasper and Sarah, and found them believable and well developed. Some of the dialogue was stiff, and that could have been intentional. There seemed to be a bit of secrecy about Jasper, and perhaps the secrecy led to stiff dialogue.

There is some plot, but mostly there is a lot of sex and spanking. At times this seemed more demeaning than other stories in this genre. I did enjoy that the male lead was very much interested in a lasting, long term relationship. That was a refreshing change from the usual woman chasing man storyline.

There was not a big cliff hanger, but the ending is open-ended enough to allow for a sequel. The writing is captivating enough that I would read more if the series continued.

If you enjoy erotic romance/erotica this is a good beach/pool read.

This is the sequel to His House of Submission where Sarah Wells fall in love with her boss and film director Jaspar Jay.
Sarah has begun her new job as a costumed guide at a Victorian museum when her love Jaspar shows up to visit her. He is immediately fascinated with the older home and sees many film making potentials to be had. He convinces Sarah that she should work with him so that he can try out a few of the scenes in his new movie. She is not sure that she is actress material but agrees to try if the results remain private.
Of course this movie is about a young servant who is eager to please her boss and the lengths that she will go to in order to prove her loyalty. We get to see all the accessories that fascinated us during the first story. She is spanked, paddled and introduced to a piece of ginger.
In keeping with the theme, Jaspar orders a specially made corset for her, and they have will sex in the street, up against a building.
These two are definately hot for each other and Jaspar fills her need for a little bit of pain. I thought it was well done when he was introduced to her parents. Their relationship seems to be moving into serious grounds. Sarah has doubts. Will he be able to win her over? To convince her that he is around full time?
I really enjoyed the aspect of filming his movie and working out the scenes, they were very erotic. I think these two characters are perfect for each other. They need and complete on another. I however, did think that first book had a little bit more heat, but would give this one a 4/5.

Hell, this was an intense erotic read which now has me begging for more..... I read the first book in this series and it was okay. This book blew me into a new dimension, absolutely fabulous. In this book the story already had the relationship established between Jasper Jay and Sarah, but this is where Jasper decides he wants to really define this relationship. The scenes really grabbed me and pulled me in, and Jasper was incredibly hot alpha male with a spanking fetish. The book was extremely well written, and I didn't find any of the awkwardness the first book had. Anybody who likes to read fetishes or master/ submissive lifestyle would not go wrong with this book. Overall entertainment up value is five stars....amazingly hot book.

This one was ok for me. I was getting a bit annoyed with Sarah. Jasper was serious about their relationship and it was like she didn't believe that he was. She constantly would ask him if he was serious. That got a bit annoying after the first couple times. It was nice to see how their story progressed.

I did have a bit of a hard time understanding certain areas of the book. I think that was because I am not familiar with some of the terms used. The author is from a different country then I, so it is understandable. I was able to figure out most once I read the entire scene.

I do plan to read the next book on Sarah and Jasper.
