Another great romantic suspense by Miley Maine who once again delivers! She brings strong characters with an explosive chemistry and does a great job developing their story. She pulled me in with all the danger and intrigue and kept me glued to the pages with all the twists and turns along the way.
It's an intriguing story with tons of heat and is a true page turner. Loved and recommend.

The Course of True Love Does Not Run Smoothly
The life of Luna Marie Greyson has almost never been easy or smooth. And while there had been moments of love, happiness and closeness as a family, those moments were few and mostly distant memories for the 19-year-old green-eyed, red-haired, thoughtfully sweet beauty. Her life had been one of turmoil since her dad, who had always been loving and supportive to his daughter, left. Following an emotionally destructive miscarriage, the relationship of her mom and dad began to crack, and eventually, shattered. Unable to cope with his wife’s increasing distance and unwillingness or inability to verbalize her feelings, he left. Without the stabilizing influence of her husband, Luna’s mom sank deeper into depression, turning to drugs and alcohol to self-medicate the emotional pain away. Finally, on Luna’s 18th birthday, her mom finally escaped her pain in a drug and alcohol induced death.
Luna sought to start over. She boarded a bus and travelled from her hometown of Portland, Oregon. And, she travelled on until the bus reached the small Maryland town of Cumberland, a quaint town located near the Allegany Mountains, where she disembarked. And for the past 18 months, Luna has lived and worked at a local gentlemen’s club, Ramona’s, as a waitress and, at times, as a part of the club’s entertainment as a dancer. But she is not totally alone. Julie Maxwell, another young girl on her own too young—since she was 14—has also found work at Ramona’s, and Luna and Julie become sisters with the shared experience of homelessness.
And while working her shift, serving drinks and dancing, Luna is observant of the comings and goings of her bosses, Jack and Mitchell. She has noticed that the club’s owners may be involved in activities that are not as legal as serving drinks and providing entertainment for their customers. And, from what she has seen and overheard, the owners may have angered their more powerful contacts and gotten themselves into financial trouble with their contacts. And, to raise fast cash to satisfy there more powerful contacts, the partners have gotten more involved in illegal activities. They have been grooming the girls who work in the club to be open to the idea of participating in an auction in which the girls would be sold, providing the indebted owners with the money to satisfy their bosses. And many of the girls, like Luna’s friend, Julie, seem to acquiesce to the plan to being sold to unknown individuals—to being trafficked. But Luna is horrified and terrified and is saving money to escape what she sees as a horrific fate.
Nathan Danielson, a 36-yr-old Navy SEAL has been transferred from San Diego to a base in Charleston, South Carolina. But before reporting, he has taken some leave time for himself to sight-see before he begins his new assignment. When he stops in Cumberland, Maryland to get some gas and food, he begins to hear of a local club from a resident, Marcus Greene, the CEO of a Pharma factory. As the two become friends over drinks, they also come to realize that they are both Manhattan natives. And later, enjoying their new friendship at Ramona’s, Nathan’s attention is caught by one of the dancers—one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen—a petite, curvy red-head whose emerald green eyes seem to be looking directly at him. But what surprises him even more than their eye contact is that after she finishing her dance routine, she walked straight to him, saying that she needed his help. Miley Maine has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Luna and Nathan. Nathan is needing to find himself again after his fiance is killed. He is on his way to his new duty station in South Carolina when he stops in Cumberland, Maryland. He gets a room and is told to go to the diner if he wanted a good meal. While at the diner, he meets Marcus. They are both from New York and they hit it off. Marcus tells him about a nightclub that he is going to later that night and asked Nathan if he wanted to go. At the club, Mathan meets Luna and she tells him a few things about Her bossesJack, and Mitchell, and asks for his help. Nathan tells her that he will help her. She tells him that in fifteen days they are going to be holding an auction and selling some of the girls to the highest bidders, Luna included. Nathan starts to have feelings for Luna and they start seeing each other. This makes Jack, and Mitchell mad. Jack gets Luna alone and tells her that she needs to stop seeing Nathan because he is not going to be able to save her from the auction. Nathan gets a call from Marcus and is told that he is willing to help him with Luna. After Nathan finds out how much Marcus thinks she will go for, he tells Marcus he can't accept the offer since Marcus wants to save another girl there and if he helped Nathan, he wouldn't be able to bid again. Nathan tells him that he will figure it out away. Nathan gets a text message with a picture of Luna. It is from Jack saying that they own her and if Nathan knew what was good for him, he would back off. Nathan gets his things together and goes to the nightclub and Luna is there working. She sees Nathan go to Jack's office and wonders what is going on. Nathan tells Jack that Luna is a person and not owned and she can choose who she wants to be with and she chose him. Jack said a few things to Nathan and it just makes him mad and Nathan hits Jack. Luna is there when Nathan hits Jack and she gets in between them to stop a fight. Nathan and Luna walk out of Jack's office and Nathan tells her that they are leaving. He explains to her that they need to go to South Carolina to the base there since he will have help. He takes her to her apartment so that she can grab her things that are important to her. When she comes down, they take off. Nathan is tired and they stop at a motel for some rest. Somehow, Jack and Mitchell find them but they get away from them. Nathan decides to stay off the main roads and travel the back roads. Luna is scared and so is Nathan. They just have a little further to go and they stop at a restaurant to grab something to eat. While eating, Luna tells Nathan that they have to go now since one of Jack and Mitchell's men just walked into the restaurant. They get away and leave. While driving, Luna gets a call from an unknown number and after she gets off the phone she tells him that they have to go to a hotel. He asks "Why?" She tells him that if she doesn't come then they will kill Julie. Luna and Nathan go to save Julie. Once she is saved, they head to South Carolina but before they get there, Julie wants them to drop her off in a little town. Nathan decides to treat Luna to a special night and checks them into a nice hotel. They have a nice dinner and things are going fine for them. They are in bed and Nathan gets a call from someone and he walks away to take it. When he gets back, he acts differently toward her. She wants to know what is wrong but he won't tell her. He wakes her the next morning and is short with her. He says some things that hurt her and she wants to be let out. He asks her "Where are you going to go?" She tells him anywhere is better than him treating her like trash all of a sudden. He finally tells her who called him and what it was about. She tells him that it was not his fault for what happened to his fiance. He realized she was right.
Will Luna and Nathan get to his base and get the help they need to get Jack and Mitchell?
Will things work out between them?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Damaged Hearts by Miley Maine is an emotional,engaging,intriguing,steamy with a bit of suspense and action to put you on edge while reading..A romance story of Nathan and Luna..Nathan is a Navy seal from the City,a Hero and with a chips on his shoulder..Luna is an innocent young girl,working in a seedy bar for a living and in danger.; when Luna is in danger Nathan is there to save her,from there they have an instant attraction and chemistry,they become friends and more when her boss put her in an auction and manipulating her and the others girls working for him and threatening them she doesnt now what to do but Nathan is their to save her even it kills him because he will do anything and never let Luna be the other woman he loves dies because of him..he

A story of 2nd chances to life, being a dancer at Romana's Luna was struggling with being sold at auction. Luna was strong willed and one night changed her life, with a chance meeting Nathan. Luna told her story to Nathan, hoping he could help her escape. A few days left prior to the auction, Nathan has Luna grab what she can and leave. Heading to South Carolina they were running from harden criminals and while almost at the destination, Luna received a message to go to a destination. Luna was struggling with Jules being put into the mix and all had to escape with no harm. While this story has drama and action thru the story, this is one you really need to read. While Nathan and Luna get the HEA and the happy family all around.

Nathan is in the military on leave from the Seals traveling from California to South Carolina when he stops at Ramona’s. Luna is working there as a waitress and dancer. Luna hears her boss talking that he is going to auction off some of the dancers at the club, human trafficking. She needs to escape from her boss before he gets auctioned off. When she sees Nathan she is attracted to him and asks him to help her get away. This starts their adventure and their attraction and romance. Can Nathan keep Luna safe and out of danger? Will Luna even let Nathan get close to her? Can Nathan protect her? There is some danger and suspense which adds to the story. It is well-written and the story flows easily. The characters are well-developed, likable and had instant chemistry. It was an enjoyable read.

This was a great story. Nathan happens to be headed to his new base when he stops in the small town of Cumberland. Nathan is at the diner when Marcus sits next to him and they strike up a conversation. They end up going to Ramona's and Nathan spies a woman who makes his heart beat faster. Luna is dancing and she happens to make eye contact and smiles at Nathan. Luna asks Nathan for help escaping her job and informs Nathan about the auction that her bosses are throwing to sell the girls off. They are both attracted to each other and start spending more time together to get to know each other. When things get bad Nathan grabs Luna and they take off to get to Nathan's new base. There is action, danger, twists, violence, passion, love and the journey of their lives. I highly recommend this story. This book brings us Navy Seal Nathan and Luna. Nathan is lost after his fiance is killed. He is looking for a change and requests a transfer to South Carolina where there are no bad memories. On his way there, he stops at a diner and Marcus introduces himself, and they begin to bond. Marcus suggests they go to a local club, where he spots Luna who is a dancer there. The moment they spot each other, sparks fly. Luna needs Nathan's help as her boss is holding an auction, and will be sold to the highest bidder. Nathan helps Luna, and they go on the run together to his new assignment in South Carolina. It was impossible to decide who needed the other the most, but let me tell you, this was such a good read. I read it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Oh wow, what a beautiful story, amidst the chaos and danger . I loved reading about navy seal Nathan and dancer Luna. From the moment they met, he knew he had to help her, couldn’t get her out of his head. With Nathan’s help, she began to trust again, learn to love again and have faith in people. Problem was, at what cost. A great plot of drama, danger, friendships, passion, family and so much more. Every step of the way you feel for them, wishing they succeed. It was a very heartwarming/heartbreaking story. At times it made me laugh and others made me scared for them but not forgetting I needed the tissues too it was so good. Loved it all

Nathan is heading to his next assignment as a Navy SEAL, stopping off for lunch in a small town and making a new friend at the diner. Invited to a club that night, he meets Luna who dances there, and when she asks for help, his protective side goes into overload. The characters have great backstories and are strong and determined in their goals. The storyline has plenty of drama, danger with a gun pointed at them, rescue, acceptance at the new base and by family. Many surprises and twists keep the pages rolling and it is very hard to put down. Loved the skydiving and the welcome of her dad. Definitely going to reread this again soon.

Luna and Nathan will grab your heart as you watch their damaged hearts heal. He's a navy seal from the big city who's experienced in the world. She a naive, inexperienced dancer from the country. But she's a redhead and you know what that means. The book is well written with interesting characters and an entertaining story line. It's overflowing with drama and some danger that will keep your interest. No spoiler here but this is a great book that I know you will enjoy. Sweet, sleepy little town hides a secret
Damaged Hearts by Miley Maine is an engaging story. Nathan, with his damaged heart, is quite the hero in this book. He’s sweet, protective and destined for our heroine, Luna.
The plot takes these two on an adventure of sorts, all the while getting to know one another in intimate ways. I enjoyed the process and progress of the romance as well as their journey to free Luna from danger.
Overall, a good read with plenty of romance, a dash of danger, a splash of suspense and a heaping helping of this couple’s HEA.

The story of Nathan and Luna is one that touches the heart. It also brings the topic of human trafficking (no matter how it’s done) into the light. How hard it would be to get out of it and how just finding the love of your life can strengthen your resolve to get out. I would have liked a little more about how hard it is to run with them chasing you. Both Nathan and Luna have had a tough life, Luna during her childhood and Nathan with his first love. Will they be able to pull together and find a way to a life of happiness? I would recommend this book.

It’s suspense romance with some unusual twists from the beginning.
As much as I like Luna and Nathan sweet story other parts just throw me off, kind of.
Nathan friendship with Marcus, even they just met. Live auction to the highest bidder of the girls working in the club and they knew about this and didn’t do anything about.
I don’t understand this particular approach.
Some other issues like broken family, betrayal and loving couples keep this book interesting..
One more thing, referring as “woman” and “man” instead using their names was strange.

This is a very intriguing story! I love the characters and the plot is interesting. This story is about Luna and Nathan. She has had a challenging upbringing and finds her self on her own at a young age. She travels to a new town and starts working at a club. She becomes aware of the fact her boss' plan to traffic the girls in order to pay debt owed. Nathan, a SEAL, has just moved to South Carolina. He is visiting the club when he notices a sight of beauty dancing. She approaches him after she is done. She needs his help. This is a romantic suspense full of passion and great twists and turns.

Wow this is filled with a little bit of everything and most heartbreaking. Nathan is a seal and on his way to his new job. Luna left after her father left and her mother died of an overdose. She gets a job at a gentlemen's club, but the owners are no gentlemen. They are planning on selling the girls to pay their debts. Luna wants no part of that and asks Nathan for help to escape. This turns out to be a request filled with danger. This is just a wonderful exciting on the edge of your seat read. Wow it was wonderful.

Luna is in a bad situation. She is about to be sold to the highest bidder. Nathan is in the Navy and being relocated to a new base when he meets Luna. She begs him for help. Nathan vows to protect her. He realizes that both of them are now in danger and now they are on the run. This was an okay book but it wasn't written well. There were a lot of references to 'the man' or 'the woman's which should have been references to the characters. The story was good but the transitions were rough.

Nathan is a SEAL driving to his new assignment. He stops in Cumberland,MD and meets Luna. Luna is a dancer who is in trouble.
Their attraction is immediate. Nathan becomes her knight in shining armor.
The story takes their journey to get away from trouble. They each open up about their past hurts.
The story did flow okay. There were sections where the author used the terms the man/the woman which referred to the main characters and i was unsure why she didn't use their names.
It wasn't one of my favorites by this author but it was okay.

Their attraction is immediate. Nathan becomes her knight in shining armor.
The story takes their journey to get away from trouble. They each open up about their past hurts.
The story did flow okay. There were sections where the author used the terms the man/the woman which referred to the main characters and i was unsure why she didn't use their names.
It wasn't one of my favorites by this author but it was okay.

Does the risk of being killed outweigh the reward of holding onto his new forever??! Nathan certainly thought Luna was worth dying for. What man...for real, for real...does that??? Especially when he didn’t know her like that? This couple had ugly skeletons that came out the closet and made them lighter and go harder for each other. The family reunion was a nice touch but I would have loved seeing some type of punishment for the two slimy creeps who caused too much mayhem!!

This is a heartwarming romance between Navy SEAL Nathan and innocent cocktail waitress Luna. These characters are likable, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an entertaining read. It is a captivating love story with danger, steam, drama, intrigue, twists and turns, and engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An emotional read with a happy ending.

A very good romance that has all my boxes checked off...steamy yet sweet, military man and small town, action and adventure. What more could you want? Our main characters Nathan and Luna find themselves on an unlikely journey when Nathan, a SEAL traveling to his next assignment, stumbles upon Luna in a dangerous strip club. Both of these characters have their burdens which are uncovered. Great chemistry and a captivating storyline that is sure to please!

When Luna first meets Nathan she asks him to save her & when she tells him about her being sold off at auction he agrees to help her. In the days leading upto the auction they start getting closer & realise there's more than just hot sexual chemistry between them. They run away to escape from the guys wanting to sell her but the happy ever after they hope to get a few days later when they get to the military base comes with lots of drama, tears & danger but also wonderful friends, I loved this book.

In Damaged Hearts we meet Nathan, a navy seal, who is on vacation in Cumberland, Maryland. While there he meets a young woman named Luna at a bar and they have an instant connection. This book has a lot more then traditional vacation romances it has a non traditional plot and some fast paced action. I really enjoyed the different plot this book has. Miley Maine has another home run with Damaged Hearts.

Even though Luna and Nathan are both damaged by life when they meet they seem to instantly fill the emotional voids in the other. He’s in the Navy and is being transferred to a new base; however, when she tells him about the danger she is in he instantly agrees to protect her. The story itself is really good with romance, danger, suspense, and an ending that they both deserved.

Luna and Nathan meet at a bar where she is a dancer but finds out she is fixing to be auctioned. Asking Nathan to help her is what brings these 2 together. When danger and trouble follow them along with issues from their past will they be able to find happiness?
I thought this was a good storyline that carries lots of drama and plenty of steam. I always enjoy Miley’s books.
