Merveilleuse encyclopédie de la génération Beat: Burroughs, Kerouac, Ginsberg et tout le reste. Une époque intéressante, counter-culture, révolte contre les normes, la bourgeoise, le conformisme, le matérialisme. Une passion pour la nature de l´Amérique combiné avec un peu de philosophie orientale. C´est cela, la génération BEAT.

This is a pilgrimage to places and people involved in and around Kerouac, Ginsberg and Burroughs, more than an academic work of insights. Often I wished he would kill his darlings instead of feeling obliged to provide us with all the content of his notebooks. I guess a fellow fan would be green with envy, but I felt less convinced of whether these guys merited to be a 'movement' by themselves after this read.
