Un bellissimo racconto di Bergengruen, molto breve ma intenso.

Eine interessante Novelle, die sich mit den Themen Materialismus und Gerechtigkeit auseinandersetzt. Der Schreibstil ist angenehm und präzise.

Even though the plot is not too developed I did actually enjoy it.

Usually, I don't read books about the law or right related things, but I flew through this one. But it is a short book indeed.

And additionally, I was pleasingly surprised by the ending. At the same time, it seemed rather unrealistic but still a read that I enjoyed!

Please, give it a try, it won't cost you much time.

Schön geschriebene Novelle über einen Erbstreit um drei wertvolle Falken. Überschaubarer Anzahl von Charakteren, geradliniger Plot. Mochte ich ganz gern, Bergengruens Formulierungen sind präzise und wirken aufgrund der etwas angestaubten, aber charmanten Ausdrucksweise ganz wohltuend. Lässt sich auch heute noch gut lesen.
