After a one-night stand results in pregnancy, July Greer ends up with the baby-daddy (who she has never told) delivering the baby. There is a lot of miscommunication in this short romance, and I'm glad some reasons were given and therapy was involved. I liked David, and really love his sister with her full plate of responsibility. This was a fun, fast read and a fine addition to the Jackson Hole series.

I have read Cindy Kirk before and enjoyed the two books I did read: When She Was Bad and One Night Stand (both of which I would recommend). But based on the title and cover art I didn't have extremely high expectations of this book: The Doctor's Baby. It started off OK but the heroine just seemed to get wimpier as the book progressed. She HAD been through a lot in her life but I just had a hard time respecting her. I wanted her to have some fight in her but everything she had been through made her want to crawl into a corner. I felt sorry for her but I didn't really think she would pull through it. She just made me feel sad. Also, I thought she was a bad mom. She went back to work maybe two days after leaving the hospital with her premature son and left him with babysitters and then would go out afterwards to have some "me" time. I'm all about "me" time but not when your baby is 4 weeks old, you're a single mom, and you've already worked for 12 hours that day!

One of my favorite themes in romance novels is the couple forced together by unplanned pregnancy. This book certainly had that, but with the added twist that the father didn't know the baby was his, but loved him anyway. David, our hero, was completely charming and endearing. At times I wasn't sure July deserved him, and became frustrated with the lies, but it did make for some great tension built up in the end. You really couldn't help but root for them. My one gripe, which is minor, was July Greer's name. It kept reminding me of the actress Judy Greer, who then is who I pictured as July in my head. And I really hate reading books where I don't know how to pronounce the name. Was it supposed to be "July" like the month or was it a non-traditional spelling for Julie? I know this seems petty, but every time I read her name (which obviously was a lot) I thought of those things and it distracted me from the story. Overall, a light, charming romance novel. I read it in a day. 3.5/5 stars.

It was okay. The characters were great. I don't like that some parts of the story were rushed. But overall, it was a good read.

Childbirth, in a strange town and all by yourself, is hard enough. But when David is the attending doctor and July recognizes him as the only man who could be the father of her child, she is in an untenable predicament. Sparks fly. Emotions on both sides are jarred. And July must decide if and when she should tell David he is the father.

This is a heartwarming story of two lost souls who know they belong together, but first both have secrets to reveal. And when David’s family becomes involved, and July becomes immersed in his family’s life, for the first time in her life she feels both comfortable in this congenial small town and with this newfound family. Will secrets tear the two apart before they unite? Or will David and July be able to look beyond the omissions and accept a life of love with each other?

Kirk weaves a tale of relationship ups and downs, family and personal angst, and a building love. I really enjoy the Jackson Hole series. Each story features a new couple. But in each book, we get to revisit with others from the town who have been featured in other books. It is like coming home reading each book.

July Greer is in Jackson Hole for a job and eight months pregnant. She is a currently working as a freelance photographer and the baby is still cooking, right? Not exactly. The baby had other ideas. Baby Adam made his arrival in Jackson Hole right into the hands of the Dr. David Wahl who also happens to be his father. What?!?!?!? The drama won't stop in this small town.

Dr. David Wahl is a widower that met a beautiful girl about a year after his wife passed from a car accident. They connected and that was that until she walked into the ER and delivered her baby which was born approximately 9 months from their one and only encounter. His first thought is to get a DNA test run on Baby Adam but July is adamant that he is not the father.

July scores a job that will keep her in Jackson Hole a little longer. She ends up boarding at Mary Karen's house. David is at his sister's house a lot to help out with her boys thus he and July start spending time together and discover the connection that one night was not a fluke. They enjoy being together and are every attracted to each other. There is one problem. The elephant in the room. Is David Adam's father?

This book is well worth the time to read. The problems the July has will resonate with readers. Being from a broken home and never having anyone she can depend on makes it hard to take the trust plunge. I may be biased but I loved this story . I love going back to Jackson Hole. The drama and the love make every trip worth it.

This was a pleasant second chance romance. It was ok. It was a fast read

I understood July had a rough childhood and found it difficult, if not almost impossible, to say "I'm sorry.". But I could not make the connection between that and her reasoning for not telling David he was Adam's father.

Her behavior came across as completely selfish to me. July could live with David's sister, have her babysit, but couldn't tell him what she already admitted to on paper? She had no real problem blending in with his family. Her behavior was disingenuous at best.

The secret David found out was no surprise. I could see that one coming from a mile away.

I also felt cheated at the end if the book. I think if there had been disclosure to family and friends, or details where we truly got to see the 3 of them together, or something to pull the story together, I could have rated it higher. I was disappointed at the way it ended.

Wow. Started right off in the ER in a strange town giving birth to the baby of a one night stand. Add to that, the doctor is the delicious guy she had the one night stand with, in Chicago!! He recognizes her as well and has his suspicions about the baby, but she tells him “no, it’s not yours”. Lexi, as a social worker at the hospital intervenes and sets July up with a room at David’s sisters. That provides much interaction with David, who still suspects that the child is his.

Then we get into the story! She tried to find him when she found out she was pregnant and only found that he was married, not a widower. July had a miserable childhood with a bad mother and plenty of foster homes, so she reacts to that with major trust issues and a fear of commitment.

Over all, this is a pretty good book! Can be read as a stand alone but if you read them all you will enjoy seeing them again and others that you will enjoy getting to know.

Cindy Kirk does a phenomenal job telling the back story of July and Dr. David Wahl. July met David in Chicago where she lived and ends up pregnant. She wants to get in contact with David to tell him about the pregnancy, but she learns that he is married. July ends up in Jackson Hole on a photography assignment and ends up going into labor. Dr. Wahl ends up delivering her son (who he does not know at that moment that Adam is his son also). He suspects it and does request a DNA test. July did not have the best childhood, and some of her decision making stems from that trauma. David had just learned that his first wife was cheating on him, and when he sees in black and white that Adam is his son, he gets upset with July. Even though they love each other, they must figure out how to say I am sorry.

Cindy Kirk Does it Again!

Sweet Home Jackson Hole is stand alone read connected to the Jackson Hole Series, that can be completed fairly quickly (1 day). This book follows along the HEA storyline where you know the couple is going to "get there in the end" but it is reading how their story unfolds and how they get over the hurdles that keeps you reading. Ms. Kirk does a great literary job of writing with such description and emotion that the reader can feel connected to the characters.

This was one of my "more favorite" stories as it was a look back in history of the Jackson Hole characters and how some of the Main Characters came about and how some of the traditions started. Overall it is a clean read that leaves you with a smile.

We're back in Jackson Hole to discover the story of David and July. Surprise baby stories can often be rather cliche, but not in Sweet Home. July finds herself pregnant her one an only one night stand almost nine month previously. She certainly does not expect the doctor delivering her baby to be the father! Cindy has yet again brought another wonderful story about jackson Hole to life.

Both July and David have had some tough times and they both find it hard to open up and be honest with each other. Cindy has written the story with real emotion and it drew me in from the start.

It may be a quick read but it was 5 stars from me.

I received an advanced reader copy of the book from the author for my honest review.

Another great story.

The only thing that I wish is that this story came before the first book. It’s hard to read about characters that you wonder if the timeline is correct. Cause I am not sure if July’s son is nine months in the first book, which means that another child character isn’t the correct age in the first book. Accuracy is important to me when stories become series. Another problem for me is the newborn seems to sleep a lot. No waking up several times a night and the mother of the newborn has enough energy to do her job within a week of delivery. Not sure that is very realistic, at least from my memory of when I had a newborn. I will continue to read this series as these books are enjoyable and relaxing reads.

Awesome story, especially the beginning!

Awesome story, especially the beginning! This is about July and David. Their one night of passion months ago left her with precious cargo. Now the day she is delivering, even if a little early, is her baby’s daddy that is delivering her. She never thought to meet him again but this starts the book off with a bang!! David tries to get her to have a DNA test but she refuses and doesn’t want him knowing that baby Adam is his. I love how the story ends even if David is a bit harsh at the end. He is a favorite!

July has a lot to work through from her childhood that keeps her from being honest with her babies father.

With the help of her fellow foster friend she goes for counseling and gets the help she needs. How we are injured as children can carry into our adult life and paralyze us or help us seek to be better. I am glad it helped July.

This was also when we learn how the infamous book club meetings started that include a whole family in fun and food. Enjoy this fun beginning to the Jackson Hole series. I have loved all of the books.

I really enjoy small town romances and really liked the first Jackson Hole story, so was looking forward to this one and was not disappointed. July and David are an interesting couple and watching their relationship develop had me hoping that July would be honest with David and they would see how much they belonged together. Having the support of the other inhabitants of Jackson Hole brought in the strong family ties and good feelings of belonging. I wanted to know a little more about July's work in photography and how that was going to work going forward; otherwise a very satisfying ending.

David delivers a baby and realizes he knows the mother from a night they spent together months ago. July realizes she knows exactly how well she knows the doctor who has just delivered her baby boy and knows she needs to talk to him. With a little help from Lexi, July takes boarding at the home of David's sister. Time gets away from them, and secrets and deception come to the light. In the end, they both get what they deserve and become closer than ever, which made a great happily ever after.

I enjoy the Jackson Hole series and had seen these characters mentioned in other series installments so it was nice to finally learn their back story. The characters are likable and get along well but the chemistry didn't spark like I expected.

July's actions frustrated me so I struggled with remaining sympathetic toward her plight.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I received an advance copy and I am voluntary reviewing it.

In the latest edition to the Jackson Hole series, Ms. Kirk brings us a second chance romance, between July and David. What started out as a one-night stand in Chicago, find Dr. David delivering July's baby whom he doesn't know is his own son. July struggles to reconcile the trauma of her past with the future she can make with David and their son. Thankfully, David's family and close friend help to steer the couple closer together where they can form their own happy little family. This story was a quick read and easy to follow. If you're a fan of the series, you will recognize background characters. If you're new to the series, this book easily stands on its own.

July and David had a one night stand months ago. Now at eight months pregnant and in Jackson Hole for a short-term job, July finds herself in the ER with none other than her one time lover delivering their child. David suspects the child is his but July's repeated denials cause doubt to creep in. Can these two reignite the spark and turn a one night stand into happily ever after?

In Sweet Home we get to read about July and David’s story. July is in the ER delivering her baby early and David is the doctor on duty. We find out that they had actually met before and he is the father of the baby, but he hasn’t been told. We get to watch their relationship unfold and develop. It is a quick read.

Having your one night stand and the baby’s daddy deliver your child unexpectedly has to just be one of the most unique delivery stories of all time! Another great book by Cindy Kirk and I highly recommend. Having July and David find their way to come together as a family was something only Cindy could write and imagine!

I really enjoyed this story. I'm familiar with the Jackson Hole vibe and like it. You know how the story ends pretty much from the get-go, and that's fine. The storyline was well-written and you just follow along and smile for most of the story. Another fine read from Ms. Kirk.

the cover of the book I have is much nicer than the cover that is shown in Goodreads. The cover that I have looks like a mountain resort. This was a cute book. I loved the premise of how the baby daddy was the doctor delivering it but he didn't know it was his son.
