Ben Bear and Chris Croc open a restaurant that serves pizzas and desserts. But their very first customers, an old woman and her grandson, order just one inexpensive pizza. Suddenly, Ben and Chris have an idea. What if they pretend this young man is really their 100th customer of the day - and that he has won free pizza and dessert?
A croc and a bear open up a pizza parlor and their first customers are a grandmother and her grandson. Though poor, the grandmother manages to buy her grandson a small pizza and really takes great joy in watching him enjoy it. Croc and Bear realize at this moment that a full heart is better than a full stomach and declare the two their 100th customers for the day and give them free pizza. The next day the boy carefully counts through the customers to make sure that he can be the 100th so he can get his grandmother a pizza in return for her kindness.
Very sweet book. Fun to use to help celebrate the 100th day of school. Although "100th" is in the book, the book itself teaches an important lesson ~ a full heart is more satisfying that a full stomach. A great takeoff point for a wonderful discussion. At times the text is a little awkward, perhaps English is not the authors' primary language. Well worth the read!
She found this one last month and kept pulling it off the shelf to be read. It hasn't lost it's appeal. Ben Bear & Chris Crock open a pizza restaurant and have a very poor business plan. But! It's touching and a good lesson in why you should be kind for kindness sake.
