Nice change of pace from the rest of the books in the series, but I have the same complaints. It is super cute, but I found myself wishing for a little more conflict.
Finished reading the entire series today as I anticipate the coming of the next episode in its anime.
Who would I recommend this to: - readers who want a slow-paced slice-of-life manga. maybe you've read one too many angsty novels/comics recently and you want a massive palette cleanser. here you go - readers who enjoy slice-of-life manga in general - ppl who like peace
Who should stay away from this book: - readers who are currently looking for plot-heavy drama, intense and complex world-building - readers who prefer spicy omegaverse stories (themes here are for mature audiences but there's no explicit sex scenes on the page) - ppl who prefer external plot points rather than internal ones
For those who aren't familiar, the Omegaverse subgenre was cultivated exclusively in fandom spaces. This entire erotic subgenre may have been inspired by other well-known works of sci-fi, and other movies/series may have parented this concept, but the subgenre itself was developed solely by fanworks circa 2010ish to present-day.
Having no canonical work of art to attribute this subgenre to means that authors can flash their creative licenses and take liberties with biology and social psychology to focus solely on the erotic aspect; that means they can also use those liberties to craft a coherent setting in which their characters are living. The latter is what the author of this manga went for, which is its strength as much as its weakness. Strength in that it illustrates an alternate universe in which men and women are equal but are still imprisoned by the alpha/beta/omega hierarchy system; Weakness in that many readers who look for works in this subgenre look for the erotic aspect most of all.
All that said, I enjoyed this series and am happy it's getting some more attention now too because of its anime adaptation.
The focus seems to be shifting from Masaki over to Yuuki as things settle down with family affairs and Yuuki and Matsu start to really figure out their own relationship. We see a bit more of Michiru and her father, though they seem to only really pop up when picking up the kids after work or for group dinners. Masaki and Hiromi seem to have become the staple for what their friends see as their ideal relationship and acceptance to strive for, which is somewhat of an interest turn considering Masaki's own insecurities through most of the series. If anything, they do seem more comfortable in their own skin and with the lives they've chosen and made for themselves.

Omegaverse.
5 stars. It was just one of those days today. I needed something comforting and so I picked this series up for the millionth time. No regrets. Now I'm gonna go watch the anime again. BYE!
