Existential Dialogues

Rate this book
Chechik takes his unsuspecting readers on a journey throughout the human mind, from its deepest and darkest caverns to its brightest heights.
In the great tradition of Platonic dialogues, the author, in his very first literary work, demonstrates surprisingly mature approach to the great questions haunting the human mind since the dawn of the finiteness of human lives; individual's struggle with the forces of socialization; inter-generational relations; and the limits of human perceptions. Each of the dialogues in this book, between the author's adolescent and mature selves, is concluded with a thought-provoking question addressed to the readers.

Even if this was a book that I went into wanting to like, after a few pages it was clear that this was going to be difficult. For me, this kind of dialogue, without any story to it, trying to be poetical and overflow the reader with sentences that have no clear meaning at all, or where the meaning is obfuscated to the degree of pointless streams of consciousness. That may be harsh, of course, they have meaning, but for me, they did not come out of the text even if the author put them in there. Sometimes I tried reading a sentence a few times to see if I managed to get the point, to no avail - it was probably lost in the context of something that sounds like sophisticated language but is really, for me at least, just word salad. I hope the book finds its audience, but that audience is not myself.

A thought-provoking book

During the reading of the book, I find a whole inner world of a man and artist. I noticed that despite the inherent differences between one man to another, with significant parts of the text I managed to identify and thus the book became in a sense part of my life story.

Cechik's masterpiece demonstrateds, once again, that the human mind is still an unexplored wonderland, full of treasures waiting for those daring to dig deep enough. 🙏🏻👑

This book was a real eye opener at how shallow some of us are living. Following the inner conversations discussed in this book followed by a question as to your own insight at the end of each segment was most interesting. If you want to get to know the REAL you, I highly recommend this book.

description

DISCLAIMER: The book is given by the author in exchange of an honest review. All the review written is not related to any personal issues or connection.

Existential Dialogue to me does not only drag them on a philosophical journey but also motivate people to see the existence of life from different perspective. Some lines are very philosophical.

“This fear is nothing but a way of suppressing the recognition of your own mortality, in the form of imagining the loss of members of your circle.”

Some lines are very profounding;

“Because the magic power of words can sometimes generate in us a powerful awareness that you must handle, which, in turn, generates gigantic transformations of your min. This intellectual penitence might be a source of great pain, but also of an inspiration to discover one’s strongest energies. All this generates the metamorphosis leading you to make a choice and reclaim control of your life.”

Some lines are very reflective and encouraging;

“From here follows one’s own terrible responsibility for becoming whatever one desires to. If one is currently desperate, let one engage in a one soul’s searching to find out what sustains despair in one’s mind, or conversely, one hidden benefit from despair. “

“Melancholy is a natural and proper response, just like in case of mourning, but it also indicates regeneration, since this is your most sublime existence. you must never betray your true self for the devil you know, since you can ascent to these heights, time, and again! Accept it as a given that a human heart can contain countless loves, without any of those loves diminished a bit: the love of one’s children, life partner, family, friends, and obviously, of oneself!

I can go on with book but it will spoil all the fun and philosophical journey you are going to experience while reading it. So grab your own and start reading this book.

The book is compellingly written that leaves a desire for more. The issues that come up in the book are some that most of us face daily and they shed light on our fears in a way that lets you become aware of your problems.

This was a well written and professionally edited work. The illustrations were wonderful and were appropriate for the text. The author dealt with a myriad of our emotions, issues, and stressors and how to work through those issues.

This book manages to raise awareness of those fundamental internal disorders thoughts that most of us share.
In a world where social media often controls we often stops and think how is it that all of those participants are happy besides us?
It's easy to connect to the book and I recommend it to anyone who would be happy to dig a little bit beyond all of those questions that surround us while we are in here.

A great read.
When i read this book, i felt like i am just developing thoughts. It was almost like i was just having a conversation with the author, and not reading a book.
Must read for a rainy day, when you're already in a reflective mood..

This book is very introspective and helps to self reflect by asking thought provoking questions like, "Ask yourself, whether you managed to establish your own Truth, or merely follow the Truths of others."

The discussion partners of the book represent two shades of the authors personality; giving it a kind of dialectical vibe. The dialogues deal with various existentialist philosophical topics, examples are the meaning of life, pursuit of happiness, sin, finiteness and death.

The book’s writing style is incredibly beautiful and easy to understand. And the most amazing thing about this book is that it reflects philosophy of many great philosophers like Nietzsche, Camus, Sartre, Beauvoir.

One of my favorite quotes is: "It is only after a while that some of us embrace some meaning of life, realizing that we can only control our life, not our death. Once you realize that, you can start actually living and loving, as in the good old days of primal enchantment."

Would highly recommend to anyone who is interested in self discovery, philosophy and spirituality.

I was drawn to this book after following the author's Instagram page. The content in his Instagram page is superb, by the way: as intelligent as it is humorous and exactly what Camus' Instagram page would look like if he had one. In itself, it is a masterful depiction of philosophical expression and intellectual prowess. And the book's premise, reminiscent on Boethius' The Consolation of Philosophy, is no less of an achievement.

A particular Chapter on how modern thinkers "perceive suffering as an intellectual pleasure" spoke to me. It felt familiar, and I recognized myself in it. And this recognition is what I love about reading, writing, what I'm enamored with in philosophy, and what I liked about this book.

Second book coming soon!!!!

Just finished reading this 130 page - 29 chapter deep, philosophical conversational book that concern simply —our very existence.

I took a lot of time to go through these pages, it was like meditation. You know how in meditation, you get a thought, and you let it pass and focus again on your breathing? 🧘‍♀️

This book is like those thoughts, instead of letting it pass, I let it stay and think about what every chapter has to say 🗯

💭My favorite chapter was 22nd - A dialogue with myself and those last lines which stayed with me and now am asking you 💬-

❓“When was the last time you bad such a lively conversation with yourself? What are your usual topics of conversation (with yourself?)⁉️

Thanks for sending me this copy @chechick.daniel. I will pick the part II of the book 🔜

The book was given to me by the author.

The author touches on many different subjects and invites the reader on a intimate journey to reflect on their own stances, thoughts and feelings. You can tell that the author really enjoys writing by his poetic use of words. This, however, does not always favor the readability and some parts can get really though to read and feel unnecessarily complicated. On other occasions I wished the author would've gone a little deeper but that's more a personal preference thingy.

The chapters are comfortably short and if you are used to this kind of material then you will fly through it.

Book is short with 135 pages and 29 chapters.
But need to be read with good focus. Insights it contains are some of the best you will read.
Each chapter deals with the different topics that are written beautifully, revealing the amazing philosophy of the authors mind for a life that is better and more meaningful than what an individual lives in todays society.

Author's perspective about life and the reaction that it requires are marvelous and meaningful and can enhance the quality of anyones dismal life.

The book is essentially a dialogue between the author and his older, matured self. It's a truly insightful read, primarily focused on self-examination and discovery. Each chapter ends with a question for the reader to consider so that they, too, can begin to engage with the kind of internal dialogue that cultivates the self-knowledge necessary to live life to the fullest. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in the study of existentialism.

What a book! Absolutely loved it. I wish I didn't have to guess who is speaking what at some points... as in if it were more clear if the older him was talking or him now. But really, it got me thinking about a lot of stuff. The questions at the end of every chapter... they get you thinking. So inspiring... people can write a whole book just from this. I absolutely reccomend it if you're a soul with passion for unique thoughts.

The author talks about these perplexing inner dialogues that keep taking place every now and then but is rarely shared. It’s like taking a deeper dive into something that resonates with all our lives. By looking into the author’s mind , we are in a way looking into our own .

This book was gifted to me by the author. The translation of this book is beautiful so I commend the translator. Some of the sentences I had to reread a few times because I could not grasp the depth of them. After some pondering, I was happy not understanding. This writer has a brilliant mind and just wants to challenge you to think about the existentialism that plagues us as humans. Enjoy the ride.
