A quick overview. If I read enough books like this, maybe some of it will stick...

This 9” x 12” paperback is a brief introduction to 17th century Dutch painting. After a 20 page essay on this Golden era of that visual art, which coincided with the pinnacle of the Netherlands as a nation, 48 good quality, color plates provide examples of about two dozen Dutch artists, including, of course, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals and Ruisdael.

Nice prints (though mostly of minor artists) - very pedestrian text. This series is reasonably priced, though
