Maybe I am so much of a geek that a whole book on fasteners is pretty fun reading. Ok, yeah I am. This is a great book for anyone who uses fasteners in any structural, overhead lifting, or engineered system. It goes through each and every specification for fasteners, their usefulness in shear and tension, and how to avoid making deadly mistakes.

I'm no engineer, and I've never even used a rivet gun. But this book was great fun for me anyway, because Smith so clearly knows his stuff, and is willing to share his hard-won knowledge persuasively and simply.

If you like knowing, for example, what they do differently when fastening bolts on space rockets, then read this book!

This book is about nuts and bolts. But I'll tell you what, I have never enjoyed a book (of any genre) more than I enjoyed this. It's so much more than just nuts and bolts! If you have an interest in motorsport, engineering, cars, bikes, planes etc, I highly recommend you read this book! If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would.
