"Dammit, I'm all right!" he shouted, pushing her away. "I don't need rescuing, you bimbo! I can swim."
H/h were on a boat, jackass hero had a couple beers too many (wasn't drunk, just a little clumsy from the alcohol) and fell in the water. Heroine jumped in immediately to rescue him and that was his response.
Total. Ass.
Oh, and this was near the end of the book and after they'd already slept together and she'd been a virgin. Why he called her a bimbo when he was the one who was a manslut I guess we'll never know since he never explains why he chose that particular insult. Or why he insulted her at all when she was just trying to save his loser ass. And the only reason he was drinking was because she had enough self-respect not to sleep with him again after he admitted that he didn't like women (banged 'em, didn't like 'em) and he was too stupid to include the heroine in the list of the few women (his relatives) that he actually did like.
I didn't like the "hero" after that -- thought he was a whiny crybaby. The heroine should've dumped his ass back in the water and taken off.
Also, is it just me or is the guy on the (red) cover not really a "Handsome Devil"?
Струва си да я прочете човек. Хареса ми историята и героите, които с времето се развиха. Определено тази авторка ме впечатли с писането си и то още от първата глава.
