The Jesus Prayer

Rate this book
The Prayer that this book deals with has reached the west only after nearly two thousand years of wandering from Palestine, through Sinai, Athos, and Russia. The Jesus Prayer shows how close the Eastern and Western traditions are to one another in the matter of true prayer and worship. Dr. Per-Olof Sjögren, the Dean of Gothenberg Cathedral in Sweden, shows in this book not only how the Jesus Prayer developed in time and place but also how in itself it is 'a school of prayer, fostering spiritual life. . . one of the clues as to how Christianity is to be practised in the society of our day'.

My addition was a second printing in 1980 by Fortress Press, Philadelphia.
The cover picture was the same but my copy looks lime green/yellow.
