So For Real #4

Cool Like That

Rate this book
Let the fireworks begin. . .

Now that she's been accepted into a summer enrichment program in New York City, Gia knows she's going to have the flyest summer ever. Especially since her mom and her annoying stepsister won't be around. And best of all? Her best friend, Ricky, is joining her so they're going to spend the entire summer together. Gia hopes Ricky's finally going to make a move on her, but it seems like Ricky's bent on playing it safe--too safe, as far as Gia's concerned. So when Rashad, a cutie from the summer program, starts to get his flirt on with Gia, she's got a new crush--and Ricky's so not cool with that.

"Gia makes me want to holler out loud--she knows how to think for herself and she definitely has enough drama to fill a thousand pages!"

Mid compared to the other two. Repetitive. School. Party. Ricky. Rashad. Drunk.
School. Party. Ricky. Rashad. Drunk.
The hearts are gone! Kevin, Valerie, and Candy were my favorite!
Oh well! I thought Gia would at least make it home, but I guess the author ran out of ideas.

Gia is overly excited. She and Ricky, her bff and crush, are headed to New York City for six weeks for an enrichment program at Columbia College. All Gia can think about is how much fun and freedom they will have away from her mother's watchful eye and the drama that seems to follow her.

Unbeknownst to Gia, Rashad Moore, from Atlanta, Georgia, is going to stir up emotions that she's never had before. Ricky and Rashad instantly bump heads as he's openly pursuing Gia. Flattered, Gia finds herself craving the maturity, wisdom and attentiveness that is Rashad. She also has to come to grips with the fact that with Ricky there is history and Rashad lives in another state. Is it okay to crush on more than one guy at a time? Is it possible that her mom, Gwen, may possibly know what she's talking about?

COOL LIKE THAT is the fourth book in the SO FOR REAL SERIES. It's funny, explorative, and filled with forgiveness. I love that the story embraces new characters, while keeping you abreast of past characters. Definitely recommended reading.

Life is a journey and unexpected things happen. There will always be exciting events that will be encountered through lives, along with a different variety of drama.

Cool like That, is a novel that shows New York through the eyes of a tourist. Gia, came to New York City because she was accepted into a summer enrichment program. A summer without parents and annoying siblings away from home is definitely going to be packed with lots of fun. Even better, Gia gets to go with her best guy-friend Ricky. However, Gia’s idea of a perfect vacation turns out into a total disaster. Her friendship gets ruined and situations start to turn out different from the way it was expected.

A well-written novel with unexpected events, well-written descriptions and relatable characters, it is enjoyable to read and understand.

I read "It's All Good", and being that this Author writes in series, I was curious to see were the story went after reading this book, well "Cool Like That" was the continuation. The book was good if you like girl meets boy, girl loses boy, and of course you get the drama that comes with it. Does girl get boy in the end? read it and see. It's a good teen book.

This book was okay gia and ricky finally express their true feelings for eachother gia however becomes smitten over this other guy who seems like he's the whole package. She ends up hurting ricky and makes a fool of herself because she tries to act like a mac. She finds out the hard way that it is no fun when some one plays with your emotions.

Only three people reviewed it! I hope that's not what I saw, because this book was so awesome. Some people may be turned off by all the slang used in there but that's why it's called "A so for real novel". I mean come on people, get it together!

6/21/10 Start - Currently reading this book. Didn't realize it was a Teen book when I downloaded to my Kindle DX, but if it's FREE, it's for me if it fits into my reading interest.
