The Red Line is yet another super interesting murder mystery thriller on the sweepstake!

Following the murder of a Defense Director who was on his metro ride, a series of more murders take place which creates a very interesting plot. And so the investigation of Delhi Police starts. Who murdered them? What was his motive? Why was their a need to murder these many lives ? Grab a copy to unveil!

The author has very well researched all the investingational procedures and characters. All the plots and subplots efficiently suggest the original procedural followed in cases of such crimes.

The narration is apt and the character description is vivid. The writing style is eastly to decipher from but the story flows with some unexpected bumps distirbing the flow of the thriller.

Overall, a very well written murder mystery thriller with some bumps, apart from which everything is superb!

Starting with the cover to the title and the storyline the book grabs your attention almost immediately.
The mystery starts with sudden death of Rakesh Kumar at Chawari Bazzar Metro station in New Delhi, on a cold winter night. Though, the incident looked like a simple case of cardiac arrest yet the investigating officer SHO Hanumant is not convinced and carries on with his investigations. It is revealed that all the passenger on that late night metro are connected to the deceased in some or other way and are killed or wounded one after the other. Even the investigating officer is threatened and attacked too. Further investigation unearths a serious threat looming large to national security and the there are moles present all over the system ready to bring down the security and integrity of the country.
The climax will shock you.

The title of the book itself has a mysterious feel. The use of colour red in the cover is done in an interesting way. All the elements of the story are beautifully woven in the cover page.

The plot is a gripping one and gets more and more intense with each chapter. Author has tried to give detailed information about places, people and various organisations and tasks; it adds to the effectiveness of the sub plots. However, somewhere there were a few glitches in the information.
The characters are written so beautifully that they seem almost palpable. The backgrounds and development of characters is handled enticingly. Even the less important characters don’t appear and vanish randomly; they are properly introduced and exited. Hanumant’s character beautifully describes the social and emotional state of an honest , middle class, government servant , struggling to arrange a decent living for his family. His struggle to keep his sanity and morality against peer pressure and growing demands of family is almost tangible.
Another factor, worth a mention, is the smooth flow and powerful narration. You feel as if you are a part of the story and the entire drama is happening around you.
The language is lucid and comprehensible, making it an easy read.
The pace of the story is usually fast but slows down somewhere in the middle.
Overall the book is a high intensity roller coaster ride able to keep you on the edge of the seat.

RATING 4.5/5 stars.

If you have been following my blog, you would know I love to read mysteries and the thriller novels. So when I came across this book by Tanmay Dubey, I had no other option but to pick it up.

When you come across the title ‘The Red Line’, you automatically get a mysterious feeling. Like the title suggests, the story is a murder mystery of a celebrated MoD personnel- Rakesh Kumar on the Red Line of a Delhi Metro. Although everything points to a normal death due to cardiac arrest, the investigating officer, SHO Hanumant Shastri is not at all convinced that that’s what happened. On carrying on investigations, he finds out that in one way or other every passenger on that late night metro is connected to the deceased and is now getting killed or wounded one after the other. Even the investigating officer gets threatened as well as attacked. On further investigations, it pinpoints a serious threat to national security and other moles present who are prepared to bring down the security and integrity of the country. What happens next? Is Shastri able to protect the country from these moles? Or the moles win? Read to find out!

Firstly, I would like to say that everything about this book had attracted me in the beginning- the cover, the title, the blurb. But the way it has live up to the expectations of a mystery lover, is unbelievable. The plot is gripping as the author reveals things at the exact moment making you yearn for more. It is a captivating read, one which grows more and more intense as the story progresses. The author has also tried his best to provide a detailed information about the places, people and various organisations used in the book. The characters have also been developed in a fantastic manner, to it’s full potential, despite the fact that there are so many characters to handle. The writing was also simple and not too complex which helped me to finish the book quite fast. The whole plot kept me on edge throughout and the descriptive narration had had me hooked right from the beginning. When you come to the climax, it’s something you would not expect at all. I never saw it coming. Even though the story was fast paced, somewhere in the middle it had become a bit slow. Otherwise it was an enthralling read and a roller coaster ride you would not forget anytime soon!

This book by Tanmay Dubey is a true thriller in every sense. Everything is very well coordinated - from the cover to the title and even the plot and storyline are superbly knit. The way the story begins, with the mystery murder of an important person from the defence office, hooks the reader to the book in the very beginning.
The characters of Hanumant and Matrika are portrayed extremely well.

The book all in all is a good read, thriller lovers will thoroughly enjoy reading it.
I really got hooked to the book till the very end, it was a long read, but every page was worth it.

The Red Line by Tanmay Dubey is one of the best thrillers I've ever come across!
What a read!

Starting from the cover page, the title, the quality of paper and print and the content - This book is one of its kind. The cover and title uphold the thrill and suspense the book has to offer, just perfectly! The use of color RED has been thoughtfully done, literally and metaphorically, considering the genre of the book, making it very eye-catchy.

Coming to the plot, the Author has done more than justice by narrating the story in a way that it revealed just the necessary information at all times, making it an extremely gripping and captivating read from the beginning till the very end. Each character has been developed to its full potential and despite the involvement of so many characters, the narration was so simplified that the story was well received. The language and vocabulary used are perfectly in sync with the plot and the choice of words is really impressive!

About the story - The Red Line, as the title suggests, is the murder mystery of a celebrated MoD personnel, Rakesh Kumar, on the Red Line of Delhi Metro. The story revolves around the two heroic characters, Hanumant Shastri, SHO Delhi Police and Col. Matrika Rana and how they tackle an important situation, involving national security.
As the story unfolds, the thrill of the reader increases which is why even this long read of 320 pages seems short when the story ends.

Also, another striking feature is the factual details which the author has described in the book, without which the book would have been incomplete. It clearly depicts the level of time, efforts and research put in by the author to come up with such an intriguing plot.

Kudos to Tanmay Dubey for such an amazing book! Can't wait to get my hands on the sequel.

Ministry of Defense Director Rakesh Kumar is dead after emerging from a metro. It seems he’s had a heart attack. But Delhi Police officer Hanumant Shastri think he’s been murdered. On investigating Rakesk’s murder case, the people who travelled along with him on the metro are mysteriously murdered. Who’s behind these murders? What’s the motivation behind Rakesh’s death? Read the book to know more.

A mind-blowing thriller to read. Mystery and murder evolving keeps the readers hooked. The writing style is awesome …it’s like entering a whole new world of thriller. The investigation, findings, crime scenes and criminals are perfectly described. The plot is incredible. The author has to be appreciated for his research, writing style and the narration. The characters described are so deep and cool.

Wonderful line from the book:

To be an effective leader one has to learn the art of fighting with a pen as well as a pistol.

The protagonist Hanumant is a loyal, honest officer living and following the principle of Dharma. He is ridiculed for his straight forwardness and honesty. Thus, his family life is shaken. How he solves the murder case and his family issues is depicted in a wonderful way.

Must read for all fictions lovers. Bonus if you are a Murder Mystery fan.

Delhi Metro. The Red Line. 10:55 P.M. 6 passengers. 3 flashes. 1 dead body.

The Red Line is no ordinary thriller. It is a reminder of how a human being can be the best of themselves by shunning of all the worldly distractions. Situations might arise where you have to give in to the glamour but the real wealth is within.

The world of SHO Hanumant Shastri and ASI Azhar Ansari takes a turn when a high profile case lands in their jurisdiction. An MoD personnel drops dead where everything points the case to be open and shut. Shastri sniffs out some inconsistencies and takes on the path of dharma to get to the truth. It is the journey of Hanumant Shastri, how even after being battered and bruised his entire career, he sticks to his values and fights till the end to unveil the truth.

The story was well knit with no loopholes and with an air-tight plot. The research gone behind the government procedures and facilities is commendable and I’ll have to hand it to Tanmay for making it all so fluid. The characters and their portrayal were excellent. Each of them were given the correct amount of page-time and I enjoyed exploring them well. Just the absolute amounts of facts were revealed which were needed at that point of time throughout the entire book and I never felt the overloading of unnecessary bureaucratic jargon. When it comes to language, it was character appropriate. The socio-economic backgrounds of the people were kept in mind while framing the dialogues giving extra depth to the cast.

I appreciate the inclusion of female characters from all walks of life. From the likes of Col. Matrika, and Dr. Kavitha Aroor to quaint homemakers to sex workers and revolutionaries to high profile journalists. There was variety and not everyone was an eye-candy. Inclusion is important and I expect more such examples in his future work where not just people who identify as females can relate but also those who don’t fall into the spectrum of binary genders.

The Red Line turned red on one unfortunate night and set off a chain of events that can put the entire nation in jeopardy. A classic who-dun-it where the righteousness of a believer paves the way to justice but is it enough to save the country? Grab your copy to find out!

I fell in love with this book as soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb. The use of the color red is done so beautifully that it immediately catches your interest. The fact that the plot of this book is based on true events intrigued me even more.

This book revolves around SHO Hanumant Shashtri of the Delhi Police and a murder case he's trying to solve. He's convinced that the Ministry of Defense Director Rakesh Kumar, who everyone believes to have been died due to a heart attack, was murdered. While investigating further he finds out that the fellow passengers who traveled with Rakesh died in mysterious circumstances which strengthens his belief and motivates him even more to unravel the mystery as soon as possible.

Right from the start I was hooked to the story especially because of the descriptive narration.

The plot of the book is so well developed, you can't help but crave for more which is why even when this book is 300 pages long, I finished it in two days as it kept me on edge throughout. The smooth writing style helped me understand things much better even when there were a lot of characters. Each character was layered and the author did a great job in making sure that the reader will be able to see every layer perfectly as the story progresses. I also love how every now and then the author gave tidbits of information, not too much as to to make everything predictable but enough to make me bite my nails in anticipation. As the plot developed, so did the characters.

The climax left me speechless. I never saw that coming and it was enthralling to read about. Due to the vivid descriptions, it almost felt like I was seeing the events unfolding in front of my own eyes.

My only complain is that at some points the pace was slow which made the book less consistent. Otherwise it was quite entertaining.

There are so many turn of events and mystery in it that it keeps your hooked to the book. The writing of the author is commendable. It's easy to read and understand what is happening and the dots have been connected well. But more importantly it's the research of the author to write a book is most appreciable.

📖Book Review📚
The Red Line by author Tanmay Dubey is a mystery thriller novel which is claimed to be inspired by real events.
.
The story starts from an incident that happened during the 1971 strife between Pakistan and then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) where the Indian Army was also involved. This incident is a crucial point of reference for later in the book. Following a brief description of the disquiet during those days, the actual story starts with the murder of a high ranking defence officer. SHO Hanumant and his Junior Azhar investigate his murder and uncovers a huge threat to the country.
.
✔️The storyline seems familiar, doesn't it? But it is the delivery and execution that makes the book a good one. The character of Hanumant is an honest policeman who refuses to go against his ingrained ideals even though he has suffered for it. Skipped promotions, taunts by his colleagues and fault findings by his family has not wavered his way of living. But in the story, we see that how troubled one can become even in the path of honesty and dharma. I liked the portrayal of the main character.
.
✔️One other thing caught my eye that none of the secondary characters seemed to have a meaningless entry. All of them were gracefully introduced and we know what becomes of each one of them. So we do not have further questions. Which brings me to my third point that the story have been delivered in a rounded way. There are no unanswered questions nor any boxes to tick.
.
✔️The tension that is portrayed in the book is almost tangible. I could feel the urgency and the tautness of the situation perfectly. The smooth transition from scene to scene was perfect and the pace was fast enough to keep me engrossed. The language is simple enough without minimizing the charm. Waiting for the sequel👍🏻

Hanumant Shastri, SHO of Delhi Police was a middle-aged person who believe in a life served for the well-being of general public. Though following the path of dharma, he was generally not respected in his family. Being the son of Pandit Ram Prasad Shastri, he considered taking decisions based on his conscience, as his first and foremost duty towards the country.

It was a usual cold and shivering winter night in Delhi and Hanumant was doing his night shift when he got to know about the death of an elderly man while travelling through metro on the Red Line. Even after the medical authorities declared sudden cardiac arrest as the reason of his death, Hanumant was quite sceptical about the whole issue.

Almost the same time in Belgium, a journalist of The European Post was killed. With his most trustworthy junior and companion Azhar Ansari, SHO of Delhi Police had decided to dig in depth and to reveal the truth behind the series of unusual events. He also got success in unraveling some parts of the utterly complicated case. Despite coming this far in his investigations, he was unable to win the support and trust of his senior officials. Meanwhile, his encounter with the energetic Colonel Matrika Rana turned out to be the adventure of his lifetime followed by series of deadly threats.

The Red Line is a story asserting the victory of good over evil. Hanumant's character was meticulously designed by the author with a sense of moral duty. However the beginning seemed to be written in a haste with the introduction of many characters which somehow makes it difficult to understand. But in order to compensate that, author has sincerely worked to bring an impactful ending. The verses of Geeta was very well used to corelate with similar situations. Also it helps the readers in understanding the international conspiracies and complexities. I want to congratulate the author for driving the people specially youths towards the part of moral responsibility.

This story follows a murder. Rakesh Kumar is murdered, and after that it is a series of murders.
Inspector Hanumant and his comrade investigates the case, and find out shocking truths.
This book is a murder mystery, and it maintains that throughout the book. You will get hints and clues, but the mystery remains. The book is pretty straightforward, you won’t see a lot of world building. You won’t feel boring for even a minute. The story keeps it’s grip on your mind. The book claims to send chills down your spine, but it is not upto it’s words.
The book is a great murder mystery, but the thriller is missing. It doesn’t creep you out as suggested. The story still holds a strong frame even without it.
The language is simple and flows well.
You will be introduced to many, and you will forget many as well. They characters get lost in the book. The leads are strong, but other characters are forgotten easily.
It was fairly a good read and it did do good. This is a very average book for me, nothing stands out.
The cover is good and the title is very relevant with the story.
Overall, I rated this book a 3/5 🌟.

The Book "The Red Line" by Tanmay is a stunning murder mystery thriller. I was excited to read the book and it did not disappoint me even a bit.

The story starts with the death of Rakesh Kumar. Which as Hanumant, an inspector, suspected to be a murder. With no particular proof of it being a murder, he does not give up and keeps finding proof on the base of his guts. He was a man of respect and discipline who always kept himself on right path and never took any bribe. Which creates problems for him on financial matters and his respect. His colleagues mock him for his way of life but he never gives up.

He is accompanied by Azar Ansari, his junior on his adventure of Murder of Rakesh Kumar, who admires Hanumant but is afraid to be mocked due to his boss's way of living.
But he sticks around him and support through the adventure.

The tag line inspired by real events drew me to Tanmay Dubey's The Red Line and I am glad that I picked it up. This book is a murder mystery.

The defence minister Rakesh Kumar dies as he comes out of the metro. What seemingly appears to be a heart attack is a murder or that is what the police officer Hanuman Shastri feels. Unfortunately things don't end with a single murder. All the persons who were travelling with the minister are murdered. Why? Who is murdering them? To know more you have to read The Red Line by Tanmay Dubey.

The writing is simple yet intriguing. I loved the way the author weaves together seemingly different incidents and builds up suspense. There are ample twists and turns in the story that keep you glued to your seats. The author succeeds in bringing out a a page turner. The language is simple and lucid. Don't miss this book.

Name of the book - The Red Line by Tanmay Dubey
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars.
My take on the book -
So everyone knows I adore thrillers, well I love romances too but there is this certain amount of magic in a well thought out thriller.
It's like a prefect wrapped up gift or like one of those explosion boxes that keep on giving.
This book was amazing.
A murder that was first thought to be a death of natural causes.
But this one murder gets followed by a bunch of other unfortunate incidents and things take a different turn, a very serious one at that.
The characters are so very written its almost like you can touch them, they seem that real.
And the best part there is no way you can predict who did it before the story actually shows it.
There is never too much information and never too little as well.
Me likey.
The cover has my favorite shade of red and the writing style was amazing.

Red line

Cover has been designed really well. And not to forget the fact that page quality & printing is excellent. The book lives upto it's reputation. In fact, the way it has been written & presumably presented really fascinated me. Language is really good. Narration is okay. Characterisation has been justified. I didn't come across any mistakes. Editing has been done well.

I won't describe much about the story. As it can be understood from the blurb & description of the book.

Basically, this book is a murder mystery thriller. The suspense element has been balanced throughout the book. It also incorporates a lot of twists & turns which makes it really interesting to read. The adventure, mystery, humour & other aspects required to write a good book had been well balanced all throughout the book. Also, research has been done well, which can be deciphered from the text. Another interesting fact being it combines reality with fiction. One of the very reason I decided to pick this book up because it's based on real life incidents.

Rakesh Kumar, a senior officer at the Ministry of Defence is found dead. While everyone thinks of it as a death, SHO Delhi Police Hanumant Shashtri is convinced that its a murder. The story revolves around solving this murder mystery with lots of twists and turns. I was baffled with the ending of the book.

The book was very intriguing to me as it is based on true events. It has a very deep and engrossing narrative which keeps your mind active all the time keeping you shocked continuously at time intervals with its unfolding mystery. The pace of the story is fast and keeps you over the edge. I never felt to put the book down, I wasn't distracted at all.

The cover is amazingly designed to attract all your attention to it and the blurb is promising as well. I loved reading the book. It's a little on the heavier side of the reading but I was content.

Book name: Red Line.
Author: Tanmay Dubey.
Rating:4/5.
Review:
The book is based on real life incidents and that is one of the main reason I picked up this book. It's set up in the defense sector and is a thrilling mystery. Without research no one can write with regards to these topics, and thr author has done a fantastic work.

The narration is flawless and easy. The author had kept it simple. Clear and luminous language is being used throughout the book. The book contains a lot of twists and turns and it's wonderful when a book is equally adventurous and filled with a lot of unexpected circumstances.

I wish with my whole heart to read the second part of this book, if at all the author has a plan to write the same. A fantastic adventure it was for me.

The book is about the murder mystery of Rakesh Kumar senior official in the Ministry of Defence which at first looked like a heart attack case but his fellow officer Hanumant Shasti suspects something more.
Genre: Fiction/Thriller
Main Characters: Hanumant Shastri, Azar the assistant of Shastri), Colonel Matrika Rana
.
The book is amazing with well developed characters. The story has an amazing easy reading plot which makes it interesting. It maintains the thrill of the murder with disclosing more mysteries by Hanumant Shastri than the solutions.

Patriotism can be seen in the book and also as the story is based on true events it makes it more exciting.

The locations in the story keeps on switching many times which might make reader confused a little but as the story is kind of fast paced it makes it understandable.

The book is a great work by Tanmay Dubey and one of the must read.

Just as the title of this book, the cover is also very much intense. Giving all the right thriller vibes. Blurb is about bombing and stuff which is intriguing. I liked the writing style of the author , it's simple yet very much commanding. And let me just say the first few chapters were similar to a movie ii have watched so it was easy to imagine it all. It's an intense story about the Ind - Pak problems. Author has beautifully crafted this book. The thing I liked the most about this book is the narration. In totallity I would say this book is worth reading. I would totally recommend this book to anyone who loves intense thriller. Go ahead and give it a try..

"The Red Line" spreads before the reader a deeply descriptive and disturbing account of the terrifying suspicious murder of the defence director Rakesh Kumar. The plot will drag you mercilessly along the bitter cold of a truth as you breathlessly await the fate of the characters. Tanmay Dubey has put a lifetime of experience, humanity, and observation into this unforgettable novel. I'll not give away the plot points nor the unexpected ending. Those are treasures for you to discover.
It's a must read for the murder mystery fan.

The Red Line is a book which is inspired by true events. It's a thrilling murder mystery that treads the dark by lanes of international espionage and corrupt defence deals.

Review ~

The story starts with sudden demise of Rakesh Kumar at Red Line Metro Station in Delhi. At first, everything seems to be normal. But an honest police officer Hanumant became suspicious about the death of his superior officer and starts investigating. The story becomes more curious and twisted when Hanumant finds out that all fellow passengers in train are either murdered or attacked. Who is behind all these dreadful crimes?

The title is apt and and a tinch of red on the cover depicts the book perfectly. Language was lucid. I was totally gripped to the story. Initially, it was getting dragged but soon it picked up pace. The plot was intriguing that I just couldn't leave it in between. Characters were good. Hanumant was an ideal officer, the discovery to his true dharma and the family sentiment was conveyed so beautifully. 😊

Hats off to the author Tanmay Dubey for writing this. I can't even imagine the amount of research and vigorous plot you put into this book and created the gem. It was totally worth the time, especially the ending, it was fabulous.

Would recommend to everyone who love thriller with a splash of drama. 😅

The protagonist is a humble and righteous SHO of New Delhi Police Station, Hanumant Shastri on a mission to uncover the truth with his loyal deputy Assistant Sub Inspector Azhar Ansari. He carries his gun along with the ghosts of his past. The duo fall into the trap of a dangerous conspiracy as Hanumant tries to fulfill his duty and bring justice in any possible way. Read more to learn where it leads them, I can't describe without spoiling it for you!

I was glued to the book all day! I enjoyed the writing style because it was straightforward and cryatal, clear, a bit explicit at times, but overall it gave the story a serious edge. I liked the fact that the author didn't try to beautify the story since there was a lot of information as it is hence he did a great job. Another favourite part of the book was how Hanumant's character evolved throughout the book, even in the midst of a case his family life was shown to be far from perfect and he constantly tried to do better. The excerpts from Gita and his father's teachings were the best part, how his wanted his son to carry forward his father's teachings too. The most bizarre fact is how a simple death could be related to an international conspiracy! I would suggest this book to people who like to read from a detective's perspective and anyone interested in spies, murder and conspiracies!
