To have an out-of-body experience (an OBE) is to bring a new meaning to existence. No other phenomenon is so steeped in mystery, or so potentially empowering. This book presents techniques to maximize and even to exceed the mind's powers, culminating in a seven-day plan to unleash the potential. From the basic steps to the to the full flights of OBE's, this book can lead you to the highest realms of cosmic power.
Dr. Slate provides pages and pages of practices for Out of Body experiences for the reader to try that he has designed for various purposes (examples: strengthening your extrasensory perceptions or view past life experiences).
But, the strength of this book, in my opinion, lies in Chapter 10 where Dr. Slate describes actual laboratory experiments utilizing his techniques. I found the "broken-corona effect" measured around the fingertips of those experiencing OBEs to be particularly interesting. At the point of measuring physical phenomena, Dr. Slate moves beyond the merely theoretical and puts his out of body experiences into physical reality. The accuracy of some of the OBE experiments was surprising as well. I wish a greater part of his book discussed his laboratory experiments but I think he was going for a "workbook" feel for this book rather than a lab report.
I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in hands on (minds on) experience in OBEs. Dr. Joe Slate gives you the tools and encouragement to succeed if that is your interest. I'd also suggest Dave Morehouse's Remote Viewing courses if you want an OBE with more structure.
I had what felt like an OBE once or twice in high school. Turns out there's a scientific explanation for the experience. I read a lot of New Age-y books when I was younger. Now I just read sci-fi and fantasy.
