The days are long and lonely for Louise Stevens, whose retirement dreams were shattered by the sudden loss of her partner. All of that changes when she meets Marty Beck, a flirtatious, fun-loving, and infuriating golf pro who pushes her buttons―including one button she thought didn’t work anymore.

Marty is intrigued by the pretty Louise, a newcomer to the Pine Island Golf Club with a beautiful swing, but a disposition that needs work. Certain they can eventually be friends, she’s stymied when her good-humored overtures are rejected.

Love can come along at any time, even in the golden years, and even for two women who don’t expect it at all. Though a shaky start nearly dooms their romance, something tells Marty and Lou that this one might be worth a Mulligan.

Extremely short in my opinion. The love interest was quick and the love entaglement perhaps even quicker.
I suspect the author was attempting to communicate that elderly relationships are to the point which actually seems accurate... Why waste time horse dancing with your feelings at 61.

Ok, first off I'll admit I didnt finish the book. I just couldnt it was so full of technical jargon about golf that I didn't even know the slightlest thing about, I was really hoping that it would be put together in a way that the average joe would be able to figure out what was going on... it wasn't. Can I also say that flashback is the lazy author's way of telling a story. I think it was over kill with every other "chapter" being flashback, why couldn't they just weave the story together for it to still tell the story the author wanted but not in the same sub-par way? Also not highly impressed that the three main characters and the secondary (Rhonda) can't admit that like women is ok? They have to fight things the whole way, its ridiculous... I get that its a different generation and that things were as "easy" as they are in my generations time, but this is just fucking ridiculous.

I almost didn't finish the book because of the flashbacks. I stopped reading after the chapter with flashback on how Lou and Rhonda got together, it was just too hard to focus on the love story of Lou and Marty when you are reading how Lou and Rhonda met and fell in love at the same time. After a month, I decided to pick up the book again and continue reading, but skip all the chapters with the flashbacks and that decision made the reading experience so much better. I didn't have to know the details between Lou and Rhonda to understand the story of Lou and Marty. I wish the author just skipped all the flashbacks altogether and incorporate it into the story while developing the relationship between Lou and Marty. That being said, I really like Lou and Marty. They were super sweet together and I enjoyed reading about their time together.

I really loved this one. It's hard to find a really good lesbian love story with women over 60. I appreciated the way the story was told as well with the flashbacks, because Rhonda (the dead partner) was very much a part of the story as all the other women. I know this book won't be for everyone, but for someone of my age it hit the spot.

I always thought golf was a boring, pointless sport. But after reading this book, I am absolutely sure of it. The story is cute, though. At times it made me fall asleep, other times I laughed, and even got emotional at quite a few parts. I kinda liked it.

Mulligan is a wonderful story…from the heartbreaking first pages to the sweet journey of finding love as older women. Loved it!!! Witty, honest, and real, I couldn’t put it down. Louise and Marty are the friends we all want to find in our golden years.

I loved this book.

I loved Milligan by KG MacGregor. Beautifully written. I love the portrayal of older lesbians. It doesn't hurt anyone to be reminded of the time when two women could not hold hands in public.

This book is another great book. Not only are the characters lesbians, but they are elderly too. This book shows that senior lesbians can have a romance and can be in love and it can be fun to read about to elderly women in love.
