Falling Into Us

Cole

Wren Richardson has hated me from the second I stepped foot on her precious farm. I offer an olive branch, which she snatches from me and uses to slap me in the face. Yet despite her stubborn, determined and infuriating ways, I am drawn to her like a worker bee to a queen.

There is so much more to the red-haired tree hugger than I first thought.

Will she stop being so damn stubborn and let me in?

Wren

He calls me ‘farm girl,’ and I call him a jerk. I hated Cole Crowley the second he stepped foot onto my land with his blasé attitude, sultry smile and ocean-blue eyes.

He has come to destroy my land, turn our beautiful fields into a housing estate, and that in my eyes is unforgivable. I hate the guy, yet the more time I spend in his company, my resolve is weakening.

Can I see past his job and let him in?

Cole and Wren are on opposites sides of a land development argument. Cole is the construction manager who is overseeing the building of houses on land that Wren loves. Land that holds precious memories for her that are both beautiful and painful. The odds are already stacked against this pair, so the fact that both of them have secrets in their past, ones that affect their lives and decisions to this very day, really doesn't help.

Despite their differences Wren and Cole are incredibly attracted to one another, their chemistry is burning hot and they soon find their hearts in battle with their minds, leading to fireworks, angst and misunderstandings. With great writing and an engaging plot I soon found myself totally absorbed by this story and very much enjoyed it.

Falling Into Us is the third book in the Stepping Stones series by Laura Riley. If you haven't read the other books yet you will still be able to read this as a standalone but you will enjoy it more if you read the other books first. The first two books mention Cole and his relationship with the main characters in those books. He is a bit of a mystery in them because a lot of the time he goes missing and nobody knows where he is. This is Cole's story where the mystery is finally solved.

Cole is good looking and he is wealthy, women normally fall at his feet. When he meets Wren Richardson he is gobsmacked when she seems to hate him at first sight. His charm doesn't work on her and he just can't understand why.

He has been contracted to build on land that once was part of Wren's family farm. The farm is her life and she hates that changes are going to be made, especially when one of the changes involves cutting down a tree which has a lot of sentimental value to her. Of course, she is going to be angry but Cole has no idea about her feelings.

Reading their story, how two people with a lot of emotional baggage learn to let go of their pasts and move on really grabbed my attention and I had to read the book as quickly as I could to not only find out Cole's secret but to read how he and Wren could have a happy ever after ending. I wasn't disappointed.

Just a quick note to say that I love the obvious research the author has done for this book, not least about beekeeping. I'll admit that while having care for our bee population I didn't know much about them and how their hives work, and definitely nothing about beekeeping. The author gave a lot of information about it all because Wren is a beekeeper. It never came across as a boring lesson. It was really interesting and I am far more knowledgeable about the subject now. So I got to read a great romance and learned something into the bargain.

I have read the other books in the series and each of them has been special in its own way, but this is the first one that I have wanted to give 5 stars for. The author's writing skills are improving with every story she writes.

This is the third book in the Stepping Stones series and I think this is Laura’s best so far.

I absolutely loved Wren and Cole’s story.

Both have no interest or intention of getting into a relationship, both are guarding their heart.

When Cole arrives at the farm with his construction team to start the new builds, Wren is immediately on the defensive.

But bit by bit Cole unintentionally breaks down her walls, unbeknownst to Cole, she was doing exactly the same.

Both fighting the attraction that’s there, they do their best to avoid the inevitable.

Thoroughly enjoyed this journey with them to finding their HEA.

This also leads us to the characters that’s coming next and I can’t wait for Lucian and Chelsea’s story.

Carrots, Windows and Mini Earthquakes

"Falling Into Us" Stepping Stones Series book 3 by Laura Riley

**Spoiler Alert**

Laura, you have done it again. I absolutely loved this book. I didn't want it to end. When these men love, they love hard and with everything they have.

Cole has secrets... secrets that can never be revealed. His life has been mapped out this way because of the one person he thought was his everything in life. Because of the lies and deceit, he can only live his life this way. He will never know what it's like to have a relationship so he will forever be alone.

Wren lives her days the only way she knows how. Her past will forever haunt her. She will never know love again... she will never hear the pita patta of tiny feet. Her life will forever be a grey storm. A storm waiting to take flight.

She isn't his type, but her beauty runs deep, and he is captivated by her strength and passion for nature. Loving her would be so easy if it wasn't for the secrets. He sees the pain in her eyes. He knows that he could never compete with a ghost, and she will never let him in... or will she, only to have the lies destroy everything.

If two people are destined to be together... nothing will stand in their way.

This book had me in tears. Tears of sadness and tears of pure joy. A story about emotional pain... forgiveness and so much love.

Beautifully written with all the feels and so much story to read. The characters are well thought through with a duel P.O.V. I am now off to see what else Laura has to offer... I love your work!!!

This is the 3rd book of the Stepping Stone series, book 1 we learned of the friendship that the 3 guys have and each has their own book. We get a glimpse of Cole but seems like he is always MIA for periods of time.
Book 2 again he does a bit more and you realize there is something going on but what?
Now you get to find out and the story of him meeting Wren and him thinking he is like women like me and to have a women take one look and snub him had me laughing. The shock of it was terrific.
They work thru their own feelings, and realize they each have that chance of a HEA which they both thought they never would.
This book I have to say I love them all but this is the best of the 3 and definitely well worth the wait.

This is the 3rd book in the stepping stones series and is Cole and Wren’s story.

Cole is project manager for a company who buys land on Wren’s farm. She is against the project and tries to keep Cole at a distance

Over time Cole manages fo become close to Wren and sparks flies.

All the books can be read separately but as the characters are interlinked I’d recommend reading the series. This book then introduced the character for the next series

Great book, can’t wait for Laura’s best book

Cole and Wren. Loved it!

Cole intrigued me from the previous books, his sometimes erratic behavior, his disappearances, his mysteries. Such a cerebral man with such a natural woman. It is the perfect combination! They both have a chip on their shoulders, and together they discover that it is good to allow themselves a new opportunity.

I've read all of the series and have enjoyed seeing Laura's writing style develop over the three books. I won't add any more about the story as others have given enough away. I did love to find out Cole's story after the mystery surrounding him in previous books. This makes a great holiday read and I'm looking forward to the next book

Loved this third book in the Stepping Stones series and it is the best one yet. In the previous books Cole has always been a little bit of a mystery. Loved his and Wren's relationship. Can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

A great book and I loved the slow and steady build of the romance and relationship between the two lead characters Wren and Cole.

DNF at 50%. This is the first book I’ve read from this author. It was a struggle to read. It was so repetitive and boring. Heroine was so wishy washy. “I hate him. No I want him. No I hate him.” She has too self absorbed and selfish. Not really likable.

I’d been waiting for Cole’s story since reading the first in the series, Finding Our Forever, needing to know what he was up to. All my guesses were wrong and I’m glad as it meant Laura hadn’t gone with the obvious option. I loved watching Cole and Wren fall in love, no matter how much they fought it. You write a beautiful story Laura Riley and I can’t wait for the next.

WOW.

What a book this was and with Wren and Cole frustrated me with their secrets and not saying what was wrong. I wonder if Chelsea will get a book.
