“He was Matthew, my Matthew, my best friend, my father’s step-brother. My step-uncle.”
“I didn’t want to cross that line. I didn’t want to betray the people I trusted, who trusted me, and who I loved. But I saw Ivy as a woman. I saw her as mine. “
Blurb:
Matthew
Ivy. So sweet and young, so innocent and mine, even though I was crossing a line by simply desiring her.
Forbidden. I should stay away, but in my mind I’d already claimed her, already made the decision I couldn’t let her go.
If wanting her was wrong … I didn’t want to be right.
Ivy
I was still in high school, hadn’t even experienced the world, but I already knew who I wanted to spend my life with.
Matthew.
He was someone I could never be with, yet here I was, feeling him, touching him … being with him. It was all so perfect until it wasn’t, until my father found out … until my world was turned upside down.
And through it all Matthew was there, telling me he wouldn’t give me up, wouldn’t let me go.
But could he keep that promise during the fallout?
Thoughts:
I love everything that author Jenika Snow publishes. If she writes it, I’m gonna read it. I read this book when it first came out and I really liked it. Then I saw it was on audible and decided why not! When I say a narrator can either ruin or bring the book to life this is the type of book I’m talking about. These two narrators did an outstanding job. They brought this book to life. It is a taboo book. Matthew is the step uncle who has been attracted to he’s step niece Ivy and vice verse. Matthew try’s to distant himself but something happens that they are thrown into each others lives fully. The story line was good. The spice was really good. Overall I enjoyed the book and the narrations.
“Now let me finally claim the only woman who has ever had my heart.”
