Rate this book
Catching a killer is like mixing up dough for the perfect scone... You’ve got to get your hands dirty. When Willa Craven finds herself to be the prime suspect in a murder investigation , she has no choice but to swallow her pride and accept help from some very unlikely allies —a pretty-boy vampire from a place called Wolf Mountain, her ex-boyfriend who is definitely still mad at her, and of course, her sister Samantha, a reluctant but wildly powerful fire witch. Cracking this case becomes a lot more complicated when this scenic mountain town gets a few new visitors—including a rough-and-tumble gang of vampire bikers and a runaway teen hiding a supernatural secret. On top of that, the sisters must also learn to bake the perfect scone for the town’s annual bake sale , all while keeping their magical oven fire burning and their handsome, nosy baker from discovering their magical secrets! When you’re in charge of saving the world, why be good when you could be Bad to the Scone ? If you love small-town mountain settings, sassy female amateur sleuths, dreamy vampires, mysterious shifters, sweet romance, and lots of laugh out loud humor, you’ll love the second book in January Daphne’s paranormal cozy mystery series, Bad to the Scone.

"I longed for the days when I didn’t have to worry about accidentally lighting things on fire with my hands. Was that too much to ask."

The Craven witch sisters are back. This book picks up where the first book ended... actually about 4 hours after that. Keeping the portal oven to the Netherworld well stocked isn't something anybody can do, and here it's the one thing their Mother left them to do

And now someone's been murdered and Logan Graves is involved. Can Samantha get the help she needs before everything goes to Hades....literally?

So, come to Denali Alaska where there's more to meet the eye than you might want to know about. This series is a hoot! Highly Recommended 5/5

Book to in the new series by the author catches you from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end. The Craven sister, Willa and Samantha are back in a new adventure. Willa is the main suspect in the murder of a returning violent ex-husband of her friend when she was seen as arguing with him and she secretly put a sleep spell on him. It takes all the help she can get to clear her name besides the help of her sister, Samantha, her ex-boyfriend who happens to be the sheriff and a very old vampire that has rubbed the sisters the wrong way from the time the arrived in Denali, Alaska to take over their mother's bake shop and keep the outdoor fire going to keep the portal closed from the Netherworld! With so many twists and turns and red herrings, we are totally taken by surprise with the end! Throw in a little light romance, a young child desperately needing help and being tossed out by his mother and her sister not having control of her magic yet and we have an incredible story! I love this series so far and You will too! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own!

I really love this series. Two sisters - Willa and Samantha - own and run a bakery in a small town in Alaska. They are witches and their wood-fired oven is a gateway to hell. To keep it closed they have to keep it burning at all times and give it a sacrificial loaf a magical bread every day. Meantime there is a murder and Willa has unwittingly made herself a suspect. As there seems to be a supernatural element to the case, the sisters need to work the case (along with the sheriff) to clear her name and bring the guilty to justice. She gets unexpected help from a strange vampire from another small town in Northern Carolina. Just to top things off, there is a fundraising event and the bakery needs to make scones as their part in the event. It's just as well that the bakery hand they have working for them is an excellent baker and his scones are inspirational.

This series which takes place in Alaska is wonderful. When Willa is a prime suspect in a murder investigation she has to take help from her sister Samatha, the sheriff (her ex-boyfriend) and an old vampire. I thought this book was fast moving, funny, kept you wondering how Willa keeps getting into all these messes and how she was going to get herself out of trouble this time. This book also showed a lot of caring and a little romance as well. Great read.

Willa is quite impulsive and independent. Why bother the police when she is there and can deal with any situation? This is such a fun series to read and I am quite enjoying how Sam and Willa seem to be collecting friends. I also quite enjoyed the ending and wonder what is in that envelope. My suspicion is that even if Willa removes the spell she placed on Connor it won’t really matter. I suspect that it has become a moot point by now. We shall see. I loved reading this!

The Craven sisters are back! When Willa is the prime suspect in a murder, she tries to find the murderer with the help of her sister Sam, vampire bikers, Logan and Connor. Best enjoyed if the first book in the series has been read. I received an advance readers copy of this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Fun series

Two sisters dealing with paranormal crimes and keeping a portal to hell shut in Alaska. The plot and subplots move quickly and the conversations flow naturally. Fun series. I can’t wait for the next book!

Fun cozy mystery!

Love this new series! A few grammatical errors but the story itself is fun to read. It has action, adventure and some romance with a perfect setting. It also overlaps with the Carolina Witch stories which I loved. Can't wait for the next one!

Another fun book in this series. I love the characters and the story line is so interesting. The cross over from her other series was a great plot twist. I am looking forward to reading what happens next.

I really like this series. It is a bit different than other paranormal series. First of all it is set in Alaska! I love all of the characters and how they are progressing. I can't wait for more.
