This book is pure entertainment for children. There is not a child alive who doesn't find underpants hilarious. It is a silly book about underpants that get scattered throughout the universe. There is no profound life lesson. There is no riveting plot twist. The character development is lacking. But it's a book about a dog's underwear so none of that other stuff is at all necessary. Kids are so easy to please. As a bonus, the rhymes and repetition will make it easy for children to participate in reading and to learn a few of the words.
Ok. Normally you would be suspicious of a book about underpants. I don’t like the famous series that comes to mind. But this book was very tasteful and fun. No small feat when you are also mentioning poop in the text. My five year old asked for it again today...and it was out of the blue. We listened to the read along ebook version from Overdrive online. You don’t want to miss that. The sound effects and orchestra instruments are first class charming.
Underpants are just such a fun thing to say in a book. And this book makes all sorts of rhyming nonsense words to match. The story is simple, a thunderstorm took the underpants away and have left them all over the world to find. The illustrations are fun, the rhymes work, overall a great underpants book to add to any collection.
I think this book is very cute! It’s a fun book. I think the illustrations are nicely done and it’s entertaining. There’s rhyming and mentions different animals.
Grandie brought Jack this book from Australia. She hopes it will help get him interested in wearing big boy underwear. She said he listened to the whole thing and was very engaged.
Underpants Thunderpants was a silly rhyming story of a dogs underpants. He is doing his laundry outside when all of a sudden his underpants get carried away with the wind. They sail past some fish who think the underpants is a giant, the underpants sail past a pirate who thinks its a hat, they sail past the elephant who thinks its tissue and so forth. The dominant theme was deinatly imagination. Everyone percieved the underpants to be a different object, yet it was the same object. This book seemed to be for young children from the ages of 5-8 who would understand the concept and humor behind this book. I rated it well because it was a funny story that rhymed, and kept children intrested with its good draphics and humor.
Tonight's bedtime story choice of Underpants Thunderpants was a huge hit. Since the main one listening is a 4 year old boy the fact that every page had underpants on it pretty much guaranteed it would be a huge hit, what can I say boys are strange. Some really cute illustrations and fun verses, even the 2 year old stopped her reign of terror to listen.
Who knows where your underwear will wind up if you leave them on the clothesline during a thunderstorm. easy-to-read rhymes. This is a great story of a lovable dog and his missing underpants, featuring bright, colorful illustrations and easy to read rhyming text. 3+ years
It is cheaply written and there is no point to it. Just like Muddypaws, you should use it to toast your tootsies. A COMPLETE WASTE OF PAPER! Read Dr. Suess instead if you want quality books for young children.
Another bargain picked up from Half-Price Books for my class library. Very funny book featuring bare bottoms, poop and elephants doing big snots into underwear. I think it's safe to say the kids are going to like this one.
This book is short and fun. The pictures are partly what make it so much fun. It is hilarious and silly. My children thought it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it as well.
Underpants Thunderpants (Hardcover) by Peter Bently The kids had a thrill with this book. The 1st grade class I was reading this to, sat in mesmerized silence for the first part of the book, by the time you had refuses being referred to the kids were all in to where the underpants were found. A cute story about ridiculous happenstance.
