Yikes. The second book syndrome hit this one HARD.
Sparrowood Academy: Book 2 was and is a book that I probably should have never known existed. The first book was interesting enough and I was intrigued by the ending to dive into this one.. but after reading this - I'm disappointed up the wahzoo. Bully books are a hit or miss kind of thing for me and this one was definitely a miss.
Eden was lame this time around. She was such a bad ass in the first book. I mean the girl gave off the "don't fuck with me" vibe to anyone and everyone. YET, she wasn't that way in this one which drove me bonkers. I did, however, enjoy her getting closer and closer with the boys but still - give me my bitch back! I need her to be super sassy and feisty again or I will boycott.
Besides all of that, Trip was a douche. It was pretty obvious that he was the villain and I am equally annoyed that Eden acted dumb around him (and throughout the book). I still have a lot of unanswered questions but this book annoyed me so much that I need a break from this series.
Someone please tell me it gets better?

It's crazy how the last 20% of a book can truly change the way you feel about it. And how I feel???? Well to be honest I'm pissed, enraged and just disappointed. Where's the badass street kids who are always one step ahead. Where's the enraged Eden ready to take on the world and defend everyone, herself more than most. For the most part the book was good. The slow-burn continued and there was a kinda almost sex scene (which actually the author made seem like something more than it was and then decided 15% more in to the book to be clear that it didn't happen) and the bond between Eden and the K-boys was growing deeper. Now having finished this book I kind of think it's ruined and I am so mad I don't know if I care to read on to see how things are fixed.
I'm just so mad and bitter now. The first book showed so much promise and I was really looking forward to seeing the true street side of these characters. 2.5 stars. I know I know, how did this book fall off my series TBR. Here is the gist. I can do bully romance with strong FMC. We also need glimpses, however, of the MMC (bullies) having some sort of side that isn't just straight skeevey, jerkwad. Unfortunately, Trip our newcomer in this book of the series I can't even with... Yea when he speaks I kind of throw up in my mouth a little so now I'm wondering how the author is going to save this series. It looks like Trip is coming out on top here in book 2 and I'm quickly loosing faith in our FMC for her crappy decision making here in book 2.
I'm on the fence about whether or not to give the author the chance to pull us out of this mess. Mainly because I don't want Trip anywhere near me even via fiction lol. I'm afraid for this series that is for sure. I'll have to revisit when I'm not so irritated about it lol.

Plot:
As we head into book 2 we take off where book 1 left us. The k boys have gotten Luke out but the Cousin in, and Eden is left helping pick up where she left off with the boys. They are no longer playing the Pretend BF and Gf with the k boys but ist clear they all wanted to continue for real. But now that the replacement has started at the school they realise they just let a bigger fish into the pond. Trip is scary, and has connections, and wants Eden all to himself. He will do what is needed to get her. He tricks her into a sexual act with him, and she dose it thinking she is helping out the K boys.
The Book ends with her running away to her friends house for break cause she cannot handle the hurt in the boys faces after they find out who she did.
My feelings:
Ok so this book is suited for ages 16+ there isn’t any spice or descriptions in it at all. However its written so well I don’t even mind that its PG. Im actually invested in the 3 boys and 1 man harem. I really hope they can all admit there feelings and really date in book 3.
Clearly Hawk is Book Bf no.1. Closely followed by Dorian who is to old to actually date her or make a move on her, but he is forbidden fruit and totally swoon worthy. Theo and Grey and clearly the back runners, the sweet ones who would show her how they feel in a heart beat and already do. But in reality we all want the hard to get ones.
“I can only handle fighting one addiction at a time, and I have a feeling you’re just as dangerous as any narcotic.” She nods, hurt flickering in her eyes. “Sure, okay.” “I just need to focus on staying the course, but understand, it’s not you. You, I want. Bad. But I want to be the best for you and I’m not there. Not yet.”

I’m so happy to have more of Eden and her K-Boys.
Although they are well rid of Luke and Camille don’t let yourself be lulled into a false sense of security. Eden, Hawk, Gray, and Theo have their work cut out for them with the arrival of Luke’s cousin Trip. If I thought Luke was bad, then Trip is on a whole other level! Luke was an arrogant pig but what Trip has planned for Sparrowood (and beyond) surpasses his cousins’ juvenile debauchery.
This book gives us a taste of everything we’ve been looking for since reading the first book; the heat is kicking up between Eden and her boys, including Dorian! A breakthrough about Hope and what may have happened to her. Lots of angst and anticipation for what is to come.
They thought their plan was perfect and Eden has too much to lose not to try... little did they know Trip would always be one step ahead. This ending had me stomping my feet and cursing them all! I NEED to know how this is going to end.

In Book 2, there is a breathe of fresh air as 2 of the most menacing, bullying students are removed; but Eden and the K-Boys aren't free because Trip is now on his way to Sparrowood.
The story continues with Eden realizing that she has feelings for, not one, but all three K-Boys. She is happy that maybe they can take a step away, but now with Trip coming, their fake relationship is back on and feelings start getting even stronger.
Angel Lawson continues her Sparrowood Academy reverse harem going in book 2, adding in more sexual tension as well as mystery as the Kingston group tries to infiltrate what or who has control over the school and its students.
I still recommend this series and am excited to jump right into book 3! But I will say, there is drug use as well as sexual tension and even talk of abuse that might be trigger to some, so mature readers only.

Trip is disgusting and I hope they can bring him down soon. Saying that i can't believe that Eden gave in. She managed to not drop to that level on the streets but will break when her sister is mentioned. Dorian has gone up in my opinion. I loved the thanksgiving dinner. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Eden and the K-boys got through the drama of Luke and the other brats not completely unscathed but the arrival of Luke’s cousin Trip is a worry, the relationships between the boys and Eden is deepening, they are growing closer.
Packed full with even more drama and revelations, secrets come to light, questions get answered, this series is getting better and better as it goes

I’m taking a star because of the lack of sexual details.
Honestly book 2 was good, stuff happens at the end of book 1 and just keeps going here. Not only that Eden and the boys get closer. Like LOTS closer. There should’ve been sex but I get it she’s a Virgin. HOWEVER.
This is one of my absolute BIGGEST pet peeves and why I tend to stay away from YA/NA.
Do not detail how his tongue swiped across her lower lip as he slowly glides his hand down her side tweaking over her nipple causing her to gasp, and giving him the entrance to devour her mouth and soul...I’m paraphrasing here, but you get the point.
And when something south of the border FINALLY happens.. we get, “he proceeds to show me with his fingers, mouth, and tongue how much he has to give.”-Not paraphrasing-
THATS IT.
That’s what we get, you just gave me biblio-blue-balls. And I will not stand for it.
Also there’s that part about her dad not “leaving” but actually dying in the ocean from a heart attack->drowning soo yeah a bit misleading in book 1.

Eden & K Boys (Hawk, Theo & Gray). I have mixed feelings about this series. I devoured it and finished all 3 in like a day and a half so the storyline kept me engaged but it lacked romance. Its probably a good thing because these are high school kids and while they had to deal with life shit that no kid should have to deal they also shouldn't be having the kind of relationship as mature as a RH is.
IDK if this is even a true reverse harem because its like she just has 3 separate boyfriends. Given their age I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't have jealousy issues.
Eden has an addict for a mother, her sister has disappeared and she maneuvering in a neighborhood where her friends have sell themselves to get by.
Hawk is the leader of the K Boys (role is that of a neighborhood protection gang of some sorts). He's bounced around from foster home to foster home.
Gray is the charmer and thief.
Theo is an addict coming from a privileged life but kicked out because of his addiction.
The "Brats" are the rich kids that come down to their neighborhood to "slum it".
Eden and the K Boys get caught by police (not sure what the crime was) and their last chance was to enroll at a boarding school to help administration (former leader of the K Boys) find and stop the criminal activity in the school.
The story was good but Eden was a total tease. I mean she would rile up the boys and leave them hanging. Granted they didn't want to force her but c'mon...these are teenagers.
The 2nd book introduces us to our new "villain". He is a Brat from their neighborhood that was the last person that saw Eden's sister alive. He slides into the role his cousin (got booted in the first book) had and is the ringleader of criminal activity. Eden does a good job avoiding him throughout the entire book but then he corners her and threatens to go after the K Boys (Gray stole a dress and ring for Eden to wear to their Thanksgiving get together, Theo is a recovering addict and easily tempted, Hawk is Hawk and has temper issues). He tells Eden that he won't go after them if she gives him a BJ. She does and of course he recorded it and exposed her to the entire school. She finds out that Hawk knew her sister was alive but didn't tell her. She feels betrayed and runs off with her roomie.

It was supposed to be over. Her time with the K-Boys was supposed to be over. They took down Luke. They got rid of Camille. It was supposed to be over. But Luke was only a small time bully. His cousin Trip is so much more. More corrupt, more sly, and definitely more dangerous. But he has the answers Eden needs. He can tell her about her sister. So they can play the game one more time. They can trap Trip just like they did his cousin. Only, Trip isn't playing their game. He's one step ahead of them and this time Eden could be the one to pay.
I just can't...Ms. Lawson has left me speechless. I was so happy for a reason to continue on with the Eden/K-boys relationship "charade". I adore Theo. My troubled boy is such a sweetheart. Gray has really grown on me. He's more than just a pretty face and a charming smile. Hawk is a complicated soul who just needs someone to break through his walls. Dorian, my K-Boy disguised as a grown-up still carries the Alley in his heart. And Eden is the little spitfire who has captivated them all. I love these characters and love most when things are going their way and they are getting closer. There are so many small moments that are huge. When it's good with this group, it's so, so good. However, when it falls apart it's equally bad. Prepare yourself. This one hurts. Anger, pain, humiliation. Trip is even more dangerous than anticipated. But the damage they can do to one another may hurt more than anything he can do to them.
Take note, this is not the end so the ending will leave you screaming. It's a mess and Eden has gone off the script, so it's sure to get worse before it gets better. However, Theo, Gray, Hawk, and Eden are from the Alley. They have back-up. They have intelligence and quick wits. They are tough. Once they get themselves sorted Trip doesn't stand a chance. I can't wait to see how they take him down and I can't wait until Eden gets her K-Boys for keeps.

Can I just start by saying I hate Luke. I don’t just dislike him, I just don’t think he has redeeming characteristics, I just hate him.
Ok now that I have that off my chest let’s get on with the review.
I’m usually not a fan of slow burns that take more than the first book of the series to get going, to me they’re a no burn, but I have to say I really like this book. The first and second books are great can’t wait for the third.
While there may be no 🌶 really going on in the first two books, enough is going on that keeps your interest, the way their relationships of the 5 characters are building keeps your interest. Angel Lawson didn’t rely on a protagonist to propel the story, while the protagonist is a major part, it is not the only driving force of the story.
I love the developing friendship between Eden and Rochelle, although at times my RoRo seems a little suss to me.
I love how the relationships between Eden and the boys, and Eden and Dorian continue to grow and change.

Well folks, if you thought book one was exciting then hold onto your seats!!!! Oh so much intrigue and excitement in this book. Eden and the K-boys finally feel settled at the Academy. They've finally found their flow with the students and are starting to make inroads. Was it all a facade? When a blast from their past in the form of Trip walks into the school, bonds will be tested... secrets uncovered, and possibly a heart or two take a hit. The underbelly of this school just keeps gaining more and more ooze. Can Eden and the guys overcome all the odds and gain what they need or deserve? Eden is a strong, smart, intuitive female who may stumble a bit...but has a huge heart and protective steak. You definitely need to read book one first to know all the relationships involved. This book leaves you desperate for the follow up....especially with the revelation at the end. Watch out Sparrowood, Eden and her guys are here to stay.

5 freaking amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Holy cow is this series got me hooked . I can not believe the ending book 2. I’m gonna warm you don’t start this if you don’t have time to start book 3 to find out what is truly going on. Eden and her K-boys are hit with some news of someone else coming to their school to cause problems . However this person might just be worse than the last. Eden doesn’t know what to do anymore and how to handle everything she has learned.
“No.” I shake my head. “If anything has come out of this, it’s the fact I’m not reading situations right. I’m not playing by the right rules.” “You’re vulnerable. Just like all of us.” I frown, exhausted and filled with sadness. “I’m tired of being vulnerable.” “Good. That’s when you’ll find your true strength.” I walk out of the office understanding, for the first time, the concept of hitting rock bottom.”

talk about an ending
Omg that ending! Needless to say I’ll be starting book 3 now. I was so consumed in what I was reading I didn’t even realize I was at the end of the book until I went to read the next page and there wasn’t anything to read. This book has more spice than the first but still noting TOO crazy. So much more drama in this one. Trip plays a huge role in this book so maybe that fact that he’s bringing their hometown to Sparrowood is what makes this book that much better than the first. Eden and the guys get soooo much closer and Uhg the party scene with Hawk had me drooling right up until they were leaving. And the scene with Grey right before thanksgiving…LAWWWWD yes please! Omg that ending! Needless to say I’ll be starting book 3 now. I was so consumed in what I was reading I didn’t even realize I was at the end of the book until I went to read the next page and there wasn’t anything to read. This book has more spice than the first but still noting TOO crazy. So much more drama in this one. Trip plays a huge role in this book so maybe that fact that he’s bringing their hometown to Sparrowood is what makes this book that much better than the first. Eden and the guys get soooo much closer and Uhg the party scene with Hawk had me drooling right up until they were leaving. And the scene with Grey right before thanksgiving…LAWWWWD yes please! Usually the middle-volumes of a trilogy tend to be a bit lame, but here the exception confirms the rule. After having dealt with Luke, the villain from the first volume, we now have Trip thrown into the mix, whom we briefly met in volume one. And while Luke and Camille were evil, but more or less predictable, Trip is a whole new level of evil mastermind, playing midgames and (almost) outsmarting our heroes.
The ending left me aching for Eden & her boys, even though their relationship should be strong enough to survive the blow they've been given.
All in all a page-turner, I literally couldn't put it down until I finished it. Thank God the final volume is out and already on my kindle.

Meh
I really don't know how I feel about this book. I'm confused and I have mixed emotions. The first book was interesting enough and I was definitely intrigued by the ending. I still have lots of unanswered questions and I'm kinda disappointed in Eden why was she acting all naïve and dumb. Also what happened to the conniving and cunning K-boys. Disappointment isn't understanding on how I feel I was so looking forward to seeing the true street gangster side of these guys. But yet again why are the villain one step ahead of them making a fool out of them. After the way this book ended I'm kinda second guessing myself if I wanna continue on with the series. I guess I was expecting more and this book let me down.

Do you ever read a book and yell out loud to the characters? Get so invested in their story that you think they'll hear you? Well, Angel Lawson has a way of doing that and I screamed at these characters quite a few times in this follow-up book in the Sparrowood Academy series. Although it was a bit slower than the first, there wasn't any less heart, and you definitely get more attached to both Eden and her boys throughout the book. I flew through this one, became invested in their lives and decisions, fell more in love with Hawk (obviously), and now I have to sit and impatiently wait for the conclusion to this journey. Angel Lawson definitely does not disappoint.

This one took me a little longer to get into and fall in love with. Honestly there was sometime between the first book and reading the second book, waiting for it to come out and that may have dampened my fervor for the story and characters. I slowly made my way through reading other books in between and then maybe about 3/4 of the way through things got really rocking and rolling for me and I was full vested again. I was heart broken for the impossible situation that Eden felt she was in and what she felt she needed to do to keep her family together. I am looking forward to the next book hopefully picking up with the same intensity as it ended with.

I loved book 1 of Sparrowood Academy and book 2 was nothing short of amazing. First of all, I love Theo. The kind hearted Theo who really likes Eden and respects her while still trying to make her proud and kick his addiction. Gray is a sweetie and has really fallen for Eden and wants to be there for her. Hawk, even though he is broody he really likes Eden too and I just wish they will just tell each other already. Eden this girl is one tough cookie and won't let anyone get to her. Despite trying to save everyone on her own she falls prey to Tripp and now this cliffhanger has me not patiently waiting for the next book. This is a great series!!

Not sure how to feel about this one.
I love the story line and it keeps me engaged but I am disappointed with Eden. For such a strong character to debase herself because she is stubborn was not okay. I don’t have triggers but I was still mad at her for what she did. She was smart enough to know she could have went to the boys and they would have figured it out together. She knew the possibility that her sister was alive and may not want to be found but she still gave in and did the one thing a girl should never have to do. Total hypocrite. I just hope she hasn’t ruined her chance with the boys.

I wasn’t ready for this book. All the good done in the first book still carries over. The self defense class was a good idea. Trip is an evil genius and master manipulator. He has eyes and ears everywhere. I can’t believe they decided to to tell her about Hope. I thought maybe she got caught up in it and was being forced but it sounds like she isn’t. I’m surprised she never went back and told her sister. I was not to surprised when Eden gave in to Trip to try and save the boys. I also wasn’t surprised when he told everyone and exposed her. He cleaned out his storehouse. He really had everything planned in advance. I can’t wait to seen him get knocked down several pegs.

Uniquely Real RH
The first one was very PG. In fact, I li e that this series isn't a group of teenagers acting like rich adults with no rules and the ability to be secret agents. The language is also fairly clean and drug and alcohol use is very real and real consequences as discussed.
Having said that, this book has more than kissing, but it's not graphic and mostly off page.
We get to learn more about the boys and evil Trip is evil, but again in a realistic way. Eden grows and is starting to find her true self. Dorian is an interesting character and once again hi responses are realistic and appropriate.
I am looking forward to the next book.

New book,new antagonist. Other than that it was interesting.Special thanks to author for not making the ending predictable ,I truly appreciated it.
In life nothing is ever black or white,good or bad,truth or lies,love or hate.Evil don't always get defeated and good don't always win.The best you can hope for is to make decisions you can live with.That what this book is about.Eden filled out as mortal with flaws.Same for K-Boys.Each character slowly filled out.They became more real,more tangible, more relatable. Pleasure to read.

A bit more steamy in this book. But the series is still pretty PG-13 despite the innuendos.
Ah the drama. After one evil leaves another replaces. The hierarchy needs to be secured and the bullying needs to be stopped, check and check. But all that good and the progress seems to be for naught. The bigger badder flirtier charmer is deep in his games and outplays them by several moves. Is this the end of the alliance? Have they lost their trust?
Very giddy with the fact there's so much more story to uncover. Great buildup. Fun character development.

Superb Series!!
This series couldn't be any better unless you were living in it yourself. Now I am way, way beyond the YA age bracket, but I can still remember the pettiness involved while trying to navigate through those shark infested waters. Granted, my H.S. was nothing like Sparrowood Academy (thank goodness), it did have its mean girls, jocks and cliques. My hope/recommendation is that anyone interested in a new or different author should take a chance on Angel Lawson's Academy series, they won't be disappointed.
