EN This volume took a different narrative approach compared to the previous ones. A significant portion of the adventure is recounted by Jolan, who explains the events since the last installment. It’s an interesting choice, though I’m not sure it entirely worked for me.

Aside from that, it’s another great and original adventure. The pacing starts off as a slow burn and leads to a somewhat abrupt ending, but overall, everything comes together well enough.

(3,9 of 5 for Thorgal the Unlucky Lucker)
I like Thogal's adventures (even those without him). It's usually a simple adventure, but the world is rich, the pace is fast and it just keeps me reading. This adventure was also good, but this one is rather one of the weaker ones. The classic scheme "Thorgal stumbles into something by accident, got unlucky and then super lucky" is very obvious here. I guessed with certainty all the plot points and what becomes what at the moment of first hint/appearance.
Despite that this story was a little too obvious, I enjoyed it. It's still Thorgal, after all.

This latest outing allows us to catch up with Thorgal and his family as they seek a new, quite life, away from the havocs of the north, but, as is increasingly obvious, the world is an unforgiving place and one danger is simply replaced with another as they sail further south.

Straying into the channels of a mangrove forest they come across what appears to be an empty vessel, but when Jolan hops aboard he finds the blue corpse of the boat’s owner. With little time to think they soon find themselves pursued by diminutive pirates and running out of room to manoeuvre their boat, so abandon it to hide in the water beneath the spreading roots of the trees. Just when it looks like they’ll be discovered they’re rescued by the local Prince aboard his royal ship and taken to his island stronghold where they find some semblance of tranquility, until, that is, the Prince makes a move on Thorgal’s wife Aaricia and reveals a blue patch on her skin. Fearing they’re all infected, the Prince casts the family into a steep-valley where they find more victims of the plague waiting for death, but as always Thorgal isn’t willing to accept the fate being pushed upon him and chooses his own path as he seeks a cure for his family’s woes.

The genius of the Thorgal books is how adaptable they are to pace, genre and viewpoint, so not every tale is about Thorgal himself, not every story is wall-to-wall action and you’re never quite sure if you’re going to be reading science fiction, fantasy, or something else entirely. Because of this every book is abundant with promise and is yet to disappoint. Rosinski’s art sits so perfectly with Van Hamme’s scripts that just a single panel lifts you straight back into Thorgal’s world or sword and survival, and no matter what Van Hamme seems to throw at him, Rosinksi delivers. This remains one of my absolute favourites and if I could persuade just one of you out there to give it a try I’d consider that a job well done.

Ten motyw to najlepsze podsumowanie "Błękitnej zarazy". Skąd on do cholery wiedział jak konstruować broń?

Glad to have stumbled upon this series. The art, the story, the character archtypes, all resemble any 80s Fantasy series we'd watch as children. The characters might be cliché and the stories predictable, but they're pleasant to read.

Couldnt help but comparing Thorgal and his advebtures to Rahan, and although Thorgal is not as well written or drawn, it is still a nice entry in a similar universe

After leaving the spider island, Thorgal and his family sail to a place where Jolan by chance contacts a deadly blue plague..

With no known cure and painfully fatal Thorgal and his family are thrown into a quarantine valley..

With only a week left courageous Thorgal risks everything to save his family... And too much favors our hero...

A rather rushed volume of Thorgal with a lot of different things happening very quickly, but even then it was thoroughly enjoyable. Jolan's narration across the issue is interesting and the ending panel hits hard as always. Great art for the diverse sets of characters and scenery and some nice character development for the family.

Storia tesa e disperata.

Plot twists and turns will make Thorgal reevaluate his allegiances while trying to rescue his family from a fatal disease. It is an ok story with all its pulpy excitement.

in the seventeenth episode of the saga thorgal's family is facing another danger: a mysterious illness that threatens their existence. in a remote kingdom something is brewing and only waits a great hero to unfold.
there was a slight bend in the previous issues concerning the originality and the interesting of the scenario but in blue plague that was corrected.
