Dr. Virginia Taylor has been called in to help at a sanctuary while the resident vet is on vacation. She quickly takes order but doesn't realize she has caught the eye of snow leopard shifter Mattias Kilgrey.
Mattias is on vacation in a sanctuary, lounging and taking a break from life when he sees Virginia. He knows she is the one for him but his quirky little doctor is going to give him a bit of a chase before he finally has her by his side.
This was a fun quick read. I liked the concept for this one and could easily visualize what was going on. This author never disappoints.
A nice simple love story, this cute story will have you smiling ath Ginny's character and hoping for good things for her. The story itself isn't super exciting, there isn't a lot of stuff going on, no violence, just a sweet love story about a girl and her Snow Leopard. Matthias was kind of a jerk, until he meets Ginny, then he gets redeemed and works to convince her that he's the one for her. I enjoyed reading this fast, cute story, it got steamy at the end, but it was fun to read from start to finish.
Ginny was so Damn adorable with her clumsy self. I love that she stood up to the crazy woman who the other snow leopard scratched. She's lucky Ginny came when she did as Matthias was going to eat her.
Definitely cute. Ginny is an adorable character more quirky than most but with a very good head on her shoulders [when she's not freaking out about the oddest things:]. The range of thoughts she goes through in one section is astounding without being confusing and often turns the tide to more humorous than not. One of my favorite comments of hers: "Wait! This … this is not all right, Milo. Am I going crazy? I must be going crazy. Where's my bag? I have a list of questions you can ask yourself to see if you're schizophrenic. It's in the same notebook that has my list of questions you should ask a potential sexual partner."
Sadly [or hilariously:], she's dead-set honest when she mutters this. lol
Mattias is easy-going and astounded by her most times but captivated all the same. And oh my god, the patience he shows. Above all, I think his gift to her endeared him to me the most.
...... the only reason I marked this down to a "4" instead of a "5" was because of a very graphic and completely useless sexual scene between Mattias and another woman in the first scene or so. Generally I just don't want to hear of graphic sexual conquests that aren't between the primary love-interests. Sleeping around, even if it IS before they meet, isn't really my thing and I wish that scene had just been skipped entirely.
This was a wonderfully quirky book. Just too short! I loved the clumsy vet and Mattias.
Synopsis:
As a child of Gaia, Mattias Kilgrey has the ability to shift from human to snow leopard at whim. That is, as long as his goddess allows it. Tired of the hustle-and-bustle of everyday life, Mattias is long overdue for a much needed break. Through a friend, he’s able to book a reservation at the San Ani Exotic Animal Sanctuary—as a snow leopard. With Gaia's blessing, he begins his not-so-brief vacation with nothing but relaxation on his mind. The last thing he expects is to meet his mate at the sanctuary…but praise Gaia, he certainly does.
Dr. Virginia Taylor jumps at the chance to help a snow leopard in need. If only she could find her glasses… Clumsy, quirky, and filled to the brim with love for big cats, she's the answer to San Ani's prayers. But what's a girl to do when the snow leopard she's called upon to help turns into a hunk she'd like to bed? Well, run, of course. If only she could stop tripping over herself at every turn.
This book was an ok read. It got me interested and curious but did not answer questions it raised and was disjointed. Did she ever meet his family? He was supposed to still be at the preserve six months after he arrived? Wasn't his vacation only one week? What happened to the girl he was sleeping with? Did he ever go back to work? I could go on for at least 20 more questions. This book was an incomplete thought.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the Ginny was an absent-minded, clumsy, BBW. Matthias was the perfect match for her. I would have liked to know if he did give up his position in the family company for her, coz that seemed like a possible source of contention, but I loved the romance in his wooing of her. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
I have read a lot of Celia's book and enjoyed them all. I also enjoyed this one. This is a sweet story. Nothing exciting or mind blowing. This is simply a man winning the women he wants for a mate. If you want a simple love story with a HEA, this e the one you want. It does have some hot sex at the very end to look forward to.
Ginny, I found her a bit annoying and yet like-able too. Mattias, he starts out as a bit self absorbed and spoilt but he gets nicer and more sweet as the story progresses. Interesting enough story but I just felt like I was missing out on what could have been a more in-depth and interesting world.
What do you get when a veterinarian meets a snow leopard shifter taking a break in his animal form at an animal sanctuary? Romance and fun. I really liked the hero and heroine. She is quite a character and he is tall, dark and handsome--and very into the mate he has found.
