A sexy short story about Zach, a personal trainer, and Kieran, the new yoga instructor at his gym. There's plenty of teasing, an explosive first time, and a few well-placed hints that the romance will continue beyond the story--all of which author Jack Greene handles nicely. I like that POV shifted between the two, so we saw how each feared voicing romantic thoughts lest they scare off the other. Call me a Disney romantic, but it makes for a happier Happily Ever After when I know the characters aren’t just having a one-off.
I didn’t like how flustered Zach tended to get, but that’s a personal character preference, and I can’t blame Zach given Kieran’s methods of flirtation. My only real issue with the story is its treatment of women: Zach’s view of women is rather dim--the women who want him are all shallow, and he wants no part of them; and the two women introduced are crushing hard on Zach, and one of them seems a bit homophobic and expects Zach to be the same. Being a woman myself, it was disappointing to see that.
On the whole though, a good, sexy read. I still enjoy Jack Greene’s writing, and I intend to look for more of it.
