Oh boy, prepare yourself for a lot of filler
So the last volume ended off with the auction stuff and deciding to go to his home village. The bulk of this book consisted of him running around town letting people know he's going to be gone for a couple weeks and buying supplies for the trip. I kid you not, hundreds of pages of shopping... Sort of. There was an interesting conversation with the guild master, and some resolutions along the way but for the most part this book was filler. It ends with them standing outside the village, they haven't even entered the village! Considering I categorize the last two volumes as mostly filler, I'm feeling quite frustrated with the series. If I hadn't of impulse bought All of the novels on a good point day I'm not sure I'd still be reading...
The manga is so much better. They abridged out all of the filler in the last two books plus this book, three books total, still haven't managed to get me from volume 10 to volume 11 in the manga. I feel like three stars is me being generous, considering I actually think I would have dropped the series under normal circumstances. I did however enjoy the guildmaster interlude. Oh and the wand making filler was cute. There was definitely a lot of content that was taken out of the manga but I don't think the mongo was worse for not having it and I'm not sure if I feel like it was worth reading this volume for the extra tidbits.
