Fuzzy muddled ending kept this from getting 4 stars. The first three fourths of the book is interesting and suspenseful as a former nurse, fired for giving wrong meds to a patient, seeks revenge on the hospital administrators who he blames for his dismissal; he plays dirty tricks on them and kills another patient. NY detectives Sanchez and Woo with psychiatrist Jason Frank investigate but are hindered by the FBI. In the last fourth they solve the crime, but someone else confesses to one of the killings, and other subplots are unresolved - there are irrelevant meanderings about Sanchez's mother, April's mother, and Sanchez dealing with his unrequited romantic feelings toward April. All of this mars the capture of the killer, which could have been an exciting conclusion, but the story keeps going into overtime.

Reading these slightly out of order but as I've read them all before it really doesn't matter. No technology to date the writing and take me out of the narrative. The cultural conundrums between Woo and Sanchez are fun: food, families, curse words - I think Woo is taking on more of Sanchez' colorful exterior and perhaps Sanchez more of Woo's interior attributes. These are a good read.

Interesting, well built characters, and just enough action. The characters drove the story (just like it should be). And many of the characters were interesting, keeping you hoping them to interact even more with each other. And having a Chinese-American detective, April Woo, as one of the protagonists was refreshing.
Well built suspense - I'll try another book of the series some day. Some characters could have been even edgier for me - like something more for Bobbie, and Clara was screaming to get a taste of her own medicine.

leslie glass once again did not disappoint. while this one was not nearly the edge-of-your-seat page turner the last one was, it certainly had well developed characters and plenty of action to keep me interested start to finish.

love the developing relationship between detective april woo and sergeant mike sanchez. these 2 characters, along with psychiatrist jason frank continue from the first 2 offerings by this author.

Another bore with Amy Woo. Although I did like her and her skinny dragon mother who insults Amy all the time. However the character development of Bobbie Bourdeau, multiracial, white trash from New Orleans is a bit interesting. But the unethical high profile psychiatrist, Clara Treadwell is very thin. I didn’t care about anyone, but there is a little

This is the third book in the Woo series and it is a solid entry. Woo is becoming much more attracted to her partner and he is beginning to what his independence from his mother with love and the ‘dragon mother’ is a well rounded character. This tale surrounds a mental health hospital with crazy obsessed, misunderstood doctors and equally disturbed supporting characters. Good Show!
