As a self taught beader I usually stick to my simple and standard projects, but I found this book to be a quick and easy read. I am inspired to try new things, especially wire work. There were also a couple of tricks that I didn't know about and some nice clarification too. There probably isn't any ground breaking info in here. But I would definitely recommend this book for a beginner or ever someone more advanced that is looking to try on new projects.
This gives a good review for those who have some experience with beading and would likely be very helpful to the newcomer. Well organized, nice quick-read format, and full of photos—some of which isn't quite showing the idea it's supposed to. Many techniques would have been easily explained with a quality illustration.
Excellent book for beginner who knows too little about all this variety of findings, stringing materials, thread, needles and corresponding bead sizes, tools and what they are used for - short, to the point, well illustrated. Organizing workplace, logic of design, techniques step by step - all is much clearer for me now.
Drawback: too much of small beads waving, to my taste, but others may need it.
Highly recommend it, after comparing to a dozen of similar books.
While this is a lovely book with detailed pictures, it does not have any trade secrets or indispensable tips for most people with even limited beading experience. If you are a complete newbie, then yes, you will find it invaluable! O/w you are unlikely to find anything here beyond the basics which you should have already learned elsewhere or simply figured out yourself during practical experience.
The photographs are great. The content is very informative and easy to understand but there's nothing here that hasn't been said before. I like the layout, and the information is worthwhile. I especially liked the wirework section.
