I just knew it. When I, Kimihiko Kimizuka, agreed to help Nagisa Natsunagi find her heart donor, I should’ve realized I was being dragged into something troublesome. Actually, I had an eerily similar feeling four years ago when I met Siesta on that plane.Speaking of which, that was where I first met the old jailbird Bat. I brought Natsunagi to him, hoping he’d be able to identify her donor — but I never expected him to bring up that name again…And so, having solved my last case, it was time for me to return to my ordinary high school life — or so I thought. But apparently, Natsunagi still has business with me…What kind of trouble will she drag me into next? Family heirlooms? Spoiled idols?
I expected this so I wasn't the biggest fan because I easily predicted it. I also kind of find this boring and I don't want to keep reading it. Sorry I think I'm going to drop the series.
A glimpse into the past, with how Kimihiko Kimizuka knows the criminal Bat.
I expected more of a shock when he finds out that Nagisa Natsunagi has Siesta's heart after putting the timeline and as well as Bat's action together.
I feel like the novels, (which I am trying to get) would have done this revelation a little better. I just thought his reaction would be more than what it was. With the mystery of the person the heart is trying to get to solved, Kimihiko feels it is time to go their separate ways as to not cause she danger to Nagisa, but before he can do that, a pop star, asks for help which I think will be concluded in the next volume.
This does have a vibe of being all over the place instead of being concise and more easy with the flow. Maybe this is how the light novels were, but reading the manga makes me a little confuses on what is going on at times.
So that happened, we have the reveal of the heart and the conclusion to the flashback but still don't know how the detective died. Does it really matter, this story got a little weird, with the ear monster and the heart reveal.
Instead of this being a detective story focusing on the guy, he is set up to be second fiddle. Whilst I get that with the ace detective he used to work with, the new thing that it's trying to do just doesn't work for me. It feels too force and there isn't anything to support that narrative either, it's just kind of a letdown.
These volumes are broken up so strangely. If the format of the chapters had been better, the way each volumes begins and ends right in the middle, rather than just a cliffhanger this would easily be 5 stars.
