All of us yearn to be creative, but few of us feel we truly are. In this fun-to-read, energy-packed guide to stimulating our ingenuity, Hendricks proposes a nine-step process for unleashing an exciting spark of creativity and innovation in our lives, including creative approaches to problem solving such as mind-mapping, storyboarding, brainstorming, and five-sensing. With dynamic examples and proven concepts, Hendricks helps us to identify roadblocks that may keep us from being creative in our lives and ministries, and helps to unleash our creative potential.
Found this a phenomenal read that expands my skills at interacting with others and strives to understand their perspective, all from a Biblical viewpoint not public. Look forward to reading other books from this author.
Based book on how to be creative in the ministry field and how to expand your teaching skills. I really enjoyed reading it, even though I took forever to get through it all. It is an enjoyable book, and I love all the activities Hendricks includes in the chapters. Howard Hendricks is the top-G.
A fascinating, creative, inspiring, and practical book that I highly recommend to anyone who wants their life to be more meaningful and creative! Especially those in leadership and/or teaching positions in businesses, organizations, ministries, and schools will benefit from Dr. Hendricks’ insights and suggestions. Far from a one-time read, this is a book that you’ll want to have close on hand to refer to over and over again to stimulate new ideas and solutions for specific needs. One of the most interesting aspects of creativity that I gleaned from Color Outside the Lines is the importance of divergent thinking – being able to see beyond the designated purpose of an object or item to consider less-obvious uses and possibilities. This is a great exercise for building creative thinking skills and developing new approaches that can lead to greater success!
The best Christian book I've read about how to be more creative at work, at home, and with life in general. Howard is an excellent communicator and the personal examples throughout illustrate how to implement the ideas.
