I can not tell you how ardently I admire and love this trilogy!
Eep the hilarity, romance, mystery, humor, family drama and everything else bursts to a close with a bang I will NOT forget! :D
I was so glad that Bella worked out her kinks and got over her trust issues. I admit it made a really great character flaw. :D

I looked back and realized that six months ago, I said "Review coming soon"....Sorry, about that. *sheepishly hides in corner* Well, anyho, this is going to be short.
This was such an awesome read. I am so glad I picked it up. The characters I loved in this one, and the plot was cool. The setting....Well, I'm not a big fan of circus' or clowns so...We'll leave it at that. Clowns are SO creepy. The one thing I did not like is the love triangle. Bluh, love triangles are the worst.

THIS BOOK DROVE ME INSANE!!!! I alternated between wanting to cuddle Bella close and shove her off a cliff. I know that Luke wouldn't be one to cheat, all Bella saw was Ashely kiss Luke and then she pounced ASPA, if she waited Luke would have pushed her off in a millisecond. (Jaya if you happen to read this, might want to stop now. and BTW I still claim Luke XD) Don't even get me started on her dad, too late, I started. He. Would. Not. Do. One. Thing. His Daughter was trying to talk to him and he was lost, shoved her off like his past girlfriends. By the end I'm sure he got his money back, same with Zach's family. But he needs to get a head, if I were Bella in that situation I'd just say 'Screw this! Mess up your own life!' And refuse to go back there. Bella was unprofessional, and I don't like that, when working on the newspaper. Just because she was jealous her work started to slack, I commend Luke's decision to put Ashely on. Speaking of which, what was Bella saying about setting up Ashely and Zach :) Wouldn't be too bad. Zach would get the spitting personality of Bella, or something close. But yes, my review, not just going to reaccount the book. I teared up quite a bit, might be from the book or a bunch of emotional problems happening within 24 hours, but I liked it a lot. The series had a nice, real feature to it, hard to explain. I have a feeling that Bella is getting in a lot more trouble, and I might be the one to brew some on fanfiction. Nah, I could never portray the story quite as well. Great book, to be honest the summary isn't too hot but if you liked the first book you have to finish with this book. Hey I finished in a day! mostly cause I'm putting off homework and I was screaming over the book on more than one occasion.

I was dying of laughter throughout this whole series!! No author gets me giggling like Jenny B. Jones. At the same time, the mysteries made my spine tingle and I may or may not have gotten a little something in my eyes at some of the more serious situations. There’s a healthy dose of humour in these books but also a few valuable lessons to take to heart. Each book was fantastic but I liked the second the best. I had so much fun reading these books!

These books were, overall, a bit cheesy and outlandish at times but they were also so thoroughly entertaining that I couldn't help but love them.

My Thoughts: We are back to join Bella and the gang for another adventure. We are reunited with Bella's family and her friends. And of course Luke. Dreamy sexy nerdy Luke. There is a carnival in town and of course a murder just has to happen. And Bella is right there investigating to find out what happen and who ended up doing the murdering. Theres also another storyline going on at the same time, a few actually. One, Bella thinks that her fathers soon to be wife is up to something, and not something good. Bella doesn't want her father to get hurt so she starts looking into that. And of course there has to be some drama with Luke. His ex is back in town and she has her claws hooked right into him. Bella knows she has competition and it annoys her!
I really liked finding out what was going on with her Dad's girlfriend. I even liked how Bella's ex was thrown into the mix. Just as a friend of course, more or less he owed Bella a few favors after what he did to her. I also liked how Bella and her buddy worked for the carnival while investigating. And Luke. Oh Luke. I didn't like him as much in this book as the others. There were a few parts where he came off as a bit annoying. I think its because he kept defending his ex, and I wanted to yell at him, open your eyes, she clearly wants you back!!!! I still like Luke though.
With this series, I think that if you have a bit country in you, you'll enjoy these. If you've ever been around pigs,horses, farms, you'll feel right at home.
I recommend reading this series in order if you haven't already!

This book was SO good! It was full of amazing characters, laugh-out-loud moments, a good Christian theme, and to top it off, crazy adventures involving solving a murder mystery (all while staying appropriate)! I’d highly, highly recommend it; one of the best books I’ve read this year and another great gem from Jenny B. Jones! *SPOILERS***
I didn’t notice it when I first started A Charmed Life, but now, finishing the 3rd, I can definitely say that there are many obvious similarities between the characters in A Katie Parker Production and a Charmed Life. First of all, and I haven’t finished Katie Parker yet so I can’t say this for certain, but Luke was a total Charlie Benson character. The way the romance interacted was a lot of the same, too. Of course Luke wasn’t totally the same person; he did have his own character and personality, but there was a lot that reminded me of Charlie.
Second of all, and on the same note: this took me a while to notice, but Ruthie was a teenage version of Maxine. I mean, if Jenny B. Jones writes another book that is a combined series and it reveals Ruthie actually is Maxine as a child, I would not be surprised in the least. Sure, Ruthie’s actions are more teenage-ish, and she’s a whole lot more likeable than Maxine. But as a whole, she is a mini Maxine, in my opinion anyways. Not that this is wrong—I loved Ruthie! It’s just something funny to note.
This series began more mellow, with less mystery going on and more just character building, but now here at the 3rd book it’s gone crazy. Upon the arrival of a carnival and the murder of one of the members, Bella sets out to solve the mystery of who is the real murder. Then there are threats on Bella’s life. There are more near-death experiences; for Bella, they just don’t cease to come. And Luke rescues her, too. I don’t know how he always is there right at the right time, but honestly, it doesn’t really matter to me. He showed up, he rescued her, I’m breathing again because the main character isn’t going to die. (I mean, it’s written from first person, but with Bella, you never really know…) With a story like this and amazing characters like Bella, you don’t really notice or care about any little details.
Like all of Jenny B. Jones’ other books, this book was written so realistically that it felt that Bella was a real person. She is that well written—and I even hesitate to say written; I think of her as a person, not a fictional character. Her and Katie Parker—they could come to life. In fact, I’m seriously doubting the fact they’re only fictional. People this developed can’t only live on a page!

Overall, incredible, incredible book. You will not waste your time reading this amazing series by Jenny B. Jones. My only regret is not reading it slower…I want to go back and read it again for the first time, to meet Bella again. I need more books on Bella, Jenny B. Jones!!!! Amazing read and I’d recommend this for all teenagers 13 and older!!! *

I take Bella's side on the fight between Luke vs. Bella. Honestly, I don't blame her and Luke could be a bit more understanding. Then again, there is a reason why no character is made just to perfect to the heroine. 1) Because it is boring, 2) boring makes lack of sales, 3) too much Edward Cullen-ish, and 4) Cullen isn't perfect.
Anyway, So Over My Head finally has a murder case. Nancy Drew (Bella Kirkwood) is finally in play once again. After two books, there is finally a murder case. And Bella gets to find the body. And Luke breaks up with her. Well, it is actually Bella who breaks up with him. Let's all admit it. Bella always had a bit of mixed signal when it comes to Luke while Luke always struggles from being professional or play personal. Bella is one of those gray areas for him.
Well, So Over My Head manages to keep its upbeat tone despite the death of the hairy lady at the circus. Oh, yes. Hairy bearded lady, I should add. She is quite good at games. At least the simple games. The other games are quite okay, but that isn't the point. Nancy Drew (my nickname for Bella Kirkwood, in case you haven't picked it up by now) is here to solve the murder of the bearded lady and find whatever treasure that lady hid. Plus, there is also a minor white collar-ish subplot involving Bella's dad.
The plot is very exciting. I enjoyed every bit of the book. The last installment is perhaps the best out of them all. Out of the entire series. I think. If you disagree, then I would say the first is the best. First and third. They are tied for the same place. The beginning and the ending is always the most beautiful parts of a trilogy.
My favorite parts are whenever Bella interacts with Luke. Luke and Bella are complicated. Together or apart. Bella has boyfriend issues while Luke is too attractive and always get other girls' attentions which in turns drives Bella nuts. So it is all a circle. Anyway, it is all very adorable and cute. Beginning puppy love.
Overall, I enjoyed the trilogy/series. A Charmed Life is a delicious book full of twists and turns. The entire series is exciting. Even the first book alone would satisfy readers. It is that good and complete. The touch of religious matters shouldn't bother most people very much. I think it is all very adorable and sweet. Plus, it provides insight into the characters.

This isn't my favorite book from this author, too many annoyances for that. Although, maybe reading it while I was sick had something to do with that conclusion?
The book was witty and amusing which is why I choose to read it. The main character was downright annoying most of the time, though, and I found it hard to root for her. She wasn't kind, she wasn't extremely likable, and she had huge issues and used people. She did have her good traits too, but not enough to compensate.
There were three or so different plot lines woven together. They were each somewhat interesting and I did want to read and found out what happened next. There was one place where I congratulated the author for her foreshadowing. Overall though, I wasn't extremely impressed with the book.
Mostly it was a fairly nice, mindless read. (Which was exactly what I was looking for.) The characters for the most part are unique and fun to read about. Robbie was my favorite and generally made me laugh out loud.
There is a murder in the book, but it doesn't go into detail, and the book doesn't have a "creepy" vibe at all, nor was that the main focus. There were several things I didn't appreciate regarding analogies I thought could have been left out, a few words I thought could have been left out, etc....

The Charmed Life series might be one of my favorites ever.
Okay so all the talk of making out and actual kissing is a little too much sometimes, and Luke kinda drives me nuts with all his, "You need to stop being so jealous, Ashley's only a friend, but I'm gonna constantly let myself end up in situations where I'm alone with her and let her flirt with me all she wants and you just need to get over it Bella and trust me."
I mean honestly, I get tired of this happening in books. I think Luke should have had more consideration for Bella's feelings. And I think he should've had enough sense to tell Ashley to back off. And I also don't think he acted as ashamed as he should have after

I giggled my way thru this. Spunky and light hearted, the writing is witty and refreshing. The only thing I would say about it, is some of the high school stuff isn't as believable. Especially, the amount of time each teen character spends digging around crime scenes. But its all part of how the story is suppose to go. Its written really well, has believable characters. The feelings seem real and so does the family aspect. The only thing that was a bit of cheese, was the wedding with Bella's dad. And the utterly EVVVVIL Step-fiance and Step-kid--Marisol. A bit much for the book, but it made do.
The best part about this author is the dialog is super funny and believable. Which, in today's writing, seems like a feat to accomplish.
I loved at the end of the book, the author explaining her funny references. Pop culture in books can be done really well or really cheesy and bad. I think Jenny B. Jones, knows how to do it well.

Where can I start? Haha I thought this book would be girly and stupid based on the cover, but you know what they say: don't judge a book on it's cover. It was so witty and funny and suspenseful! Who would've thought that there would be a kidnapping scene in this book? Bella, the main character is facing all types of problems. 1. She had just finished interviewing the bearded lady, Betty, at the local circus and came back to find a sword stuck in her back. Are you kidding me?! I left the second book excited for Luke and Bella's new relationship, but do we get to see them be cute together? NO! They break up in the first part of the book. Awe man! But we still get some great scenes with them together and yay! kisses!
But anyways I enjoyed the book. I laughed, I cried, it moved me. It is a great book with mostly believable characters. Yeah, Ruthie while she is a really great character, she's kind of hard to believe. I wish we could have got more Matt and Lindy scenes, i really like them!

This is not a bad book but it's not one for me. Hand this to fans of the Gallagher Girls -- it's totally clean, with a lot of humor, with mystery. There is a Christian bent, too, which will appeal to many. This is book 3 in the series but I don't think it's necessary to read all of them in order; it's probably ideal, but I made it 50 pages with no back story just fine.

I would give this a 4.5. I thought the writing was really funny and the author totally writes what everyone is really thinking. Worth the read and would highly recommend it. The tension between the 2 main characters is very good. Don't be swayed away from reading based on the fact that it is young adult.

Bella Kirkwood was living the life with her boyfriend Luke and her mom and stepdad's family. When the Fritz Family Carnival comes to town and the star of the show gets murdered. Bella knows somethings not right. She sets out to find out who the killer was but with her boyfriend's x's back in town. She's on a verge of a total meltdown.

I struggled with this book. I really enjoyed the other two in this series but this one dragged so bad. It just didn't keep my attention and it felt a bit more outlandish than the others. The ups and downs that Bella and Luke go through became a little too much. They are both so stubborn and I felt she was so oblivious to him still caring about her.

Problem 1: I loved the bearded lady. She seemed like such a cool person, and I wanted to get to know her more, but then she is brutally murdered out of nowhere!?!
Which is fine — I just didn’t realize this was a murder mystery — so I adjusted my expectations to the genre.
Then…
They mock her. Everyone mocks the kind, cool lady — making constant jokes about her beard, her weight, her delicious baking, her kindness to the child she adopted — they don’t treat her as human.
They mock the sweetest character in the book.

Page 95: Ruthie sighs. "Did I tell you the story about the time I stapled the church secretary's skirt to a pew?"

He tells her: “You are completely distrusting of the entire male species. I guess one couldn't blame you, given your dad's history and your experience with your ex, but I have no desire to get back with an old girlfriend."

When she catches him, he gaslights her and says it’s HER fault for being distrusting, and she should just trust him.
So she does.
He’s the editor of their school paper, and both she and ex-girl are writers.
Her boyfriend gives all the good stories to ex-girl.
When she calls him out; he blames her lack of trust in him.
Her boyfriend is constantly “helping” the ex-girl with her writing, going to her house, eating out together alone, touching and giggling.

"No. I mean you were already leery of trusting anyone. And then I pushed you over the edge with all the crap I pulled." His voice is strangely sincere.

"Twice." More silence. "You know, even after two years of dat-ing, you always did hold back."
"If this is about that night at your parents' lake house, I told you I had my boundaries."
"He's not me, but I thought that Luke character was a pretty good guy. You should've seen the way he looked at you at prom. And when he saw you hurt—" Hunter expels a ragged breath. "Never mind. What do I care?"
Problem 5: she keeps intentionally being alone with a man who keeps grabbing her and would clearly rape her if given half a chance, but she keeps INTENTIONALLY being alone with him!?

"Close your eyes. Now, no cheating. I'll be mad if you do." take a step back. "You don't want me angry, do you?" I pucker my lips in a saucy pout.
"No," comes his breathy reply.
"I didn't think so. Because I have a birthday present for you."

He closes his eyes, and I change places with him, turning him away from the office. "I guess I must've heard wrong then." I place my hands on his shoulders and squeeze. I'm totally washing these hands in bleach when I get home. "How about a birthday shoulder massage!"

"No." In the dark vehicle I see the hard set of his jaw. "When you're ready, we'll talk. But as long as you're afraid of me, I'm not the right person for you."
Those words stab my chest. Who else could be more right for me than this yummy, infuriating boy? Why am I so messed up in the head?
"Are you going to continue seeing Ashley?"
He turns the key, and the 4Runner roars to life. "Good night,
Bella."
"IfI gave you a reason not to, would you?"
"You and I both know you're not going to do that," Luke says as
I open the door. "I've proven I didn't cheat on you."

Because if you've decided I'm too much trouble, I fully intend to sic Ruthie and her slingshot on you."
His lopsided grin has my heart tripping. "I'm still going to be bossy in journalism."

I couldn’t wait for this review copy to arrive at my front door so I could read about Bella Kirkwood and her adventures in Oklahoma. So Over My Head starts two weeks after the Prom ended in the last book. Bella prides herself as being a Nancy Drew kind of gal. Fellow students seek her talents when they have a mystery to solve.
I couldn’t help but get the feeling I was watching a Scooby-doo episode as I read about Bella Kirkwood and Luke chase down possible suspects in a murder mystery at the circus. Bella was at the circus writing an article for the school newspaper when she discovered a body with a knife in it.
Luke, the editor of the school newspaper, tells Bella to stop writing the circus article. It’s just too dangerous. But, since Bella cooled things with Luke on the personal level and it was back to business as usual, she didn’t think she should take his advice. This was her story and she was not going to be scooped out of it.
Bella’s stepdad, Jake, has hit the big time on the wrestling circuit and goes on the road to follow his dream. Bella’s mom is unhappy and puts her dreams on hold so her husband can chase his. Meanwhile, Bella’s dad has found true love; Bella thinks otherwise. She will use her super sleuth skills to get to the bottom of her dad’s fiancé. There was more to this woman than her dad could see. There was more than love on that woman’s mind and Bella would prove it.

It starts off as a simple assignment of covering the Fritz Family Carnival for the newspaper, but when she finds Betty the Bearded Lady murdered in her trailer, things become a whole lot more interesting. Bella’s convinced that there’s some funny business going on with the Fritz Family Carnival, so she takes a job as one of their clowns as a cover for her after hours investigative snooping. Too bad her boyfriend Luke keeps trying to dissuade Bella from getting involved. It might’ve made things easier. So would not having to deal with her father’s fishy wedding plans and Luke’s snarky ex-girlfriend moving back to town. Will Bella be able to solve this mystery and sort out her life before it’s too late?

There were other minor distracter mysteries in Bella’s previous adventures but they were pretty minor. In this novel, Bella has to deal with the Fritz Family Carnival fiasco, the questions surrounding her father’s fiancé, and the true nature of Luke’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend. These last two mysteries were quite more significant side projects than Bella has ever had, and Jones didn’t juggle between the main mystery and these lesser two as well as she could have. Also, the mysteries and even the action didn’t seem very original because Bella has already gone through life threatening investigations. Although the execution of the story wasn’t the best, So Over My Head still is a cute and enjoyable read.
So Over My Head will interested fans of its prequels So Not Happening and I’m So Sure as well as those who liked the It’s All About Us series by Shelley Adina and Pure by Terra Elan McVoy.

SO OVER MY HEAD...that's exactly where Bella Kirkwood finds herself in the third CHARMED LIFE novel.
Before the story even gets going, Bella stumbles across a dead body. For those who have read either of the previous two books in the series, you will know that bad luck has a way of finding Bella. And Bella is the kind of girl who refuses to let that bad luck get the best of her.
But not only is there a dead body in her way, now there's a conniving ex-girlfriend of Luke's in the picture. Ashley and her family have moved back to Truman - and Ashley is ready to resume her spot next to Luke.
So not only is Bella dealing with this, she's watching her new family start to come apart. Her step-father has started his career in professional wrestling, but he's on the road more than he's home. Bella's mother is trying to keep the family together, but is frustrated that Jake isn't around, especially when Bella winds up in trouble again...and again....and again...
Bella sticks her nose into the murder that has happened at the visiting circus. With her friend, Ruthie, (thank you for giving her a bigger role in this novel!) as her loyal sidekick (though there is much discussion between Bella and Ruthie regarding this said role), the two sign up to be temporary clowns. This gives them pretty much all access to the under workings of the circus to solve the murder. Ever-vigilant Luke is never far behind. He is determined to make Bella realize that she has to trust someone, and that Ashley means nothing to him. Oh, and to also rescue her time and time and time again...
Ms Jones never disappoints! SO OVER MY HEAD is a great addition to the CHARMED LIFE series. Bella is such a fun and wonderful character. No matter what Bella gets herself into, she remembers that ultimately God is guiding her through the good and the bad. Bella may not always choose the right path in her decisions, but eventually she does what needs to be done. The story may be a bit unbelievable, but I think that's what makes it half the fun. The writing style is quirky and entertaining, and anyone who picks up any of the books in the series will come away feeling just a little bit better about themselves.

Holy poop. Wooooooowwwwwwie. This book was amazing. This entire series was awesome, fantastic, remarkable, outstanding, marvelous, superb, and every other good thing you can say about something. Jenny B. Jones is definitely the latest of my favorite authors. She is one to look out for, guys.
Now that I've used all those adjectives, I'm not really sure how to go on. "Her writing was fantastic... wait I already used that word. Dang it." Well, I loved her writing. It was quirky and out-of-this-world LOL hilarious. (Not LOL hilarious, but laugh out loud hilarious.) Bella is an awesome (there I go again, reusing words) main character. She's strong and super funny. Maybe not kick-butt like those fighter heroines, but she's strong-willed, stubborn, intelligent, and knows how to pull those sarcastic one-liners. It's great. And all the other supporting characters? They each had their one definitive personalities and they made a *racks brain for new adjective* sensational cast. Sorry. That was the best I could come up with.
The romance? If you like hot, buff nerds, then Luke Sullivan is your guy. Dark hair, laser blue eyes? Muscular, tall form? Snarky intelligence? Is your heart a-pounding? And the best part was that Ms. Jones didn't overdo it. You know how I hate drama (if you don't, well, now you do). But this book. This book didn't have those OHMIGOSH I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM BUT I DON'T-I CAN'T-BE WITH HIM BECAUSE I'M AFRAID HE'LL BREAK MY HEART LIKE THE FIVE MILLION OTHER GUYS I'VE LOVED super long mind-paragraphs where the MC just rambles on and on and I just want to bang my head on the wall again and again... Drama is to a minimum, just the way Lucia likes.
I loved everything about this book. The writing, the characters, the plot... You know what, just go and get one of this lady's books. And me? I'm going onto Amazon and buying the rest of hers.

Jenny B. Jones ends The Charmed Life trilogy with another book that is IMPOSSIBLE to put down. Out of necessity (well, and a huge love of good fiction) I read dozens of books to present to fellow educators during summer in-service trainings. I also chat them to students during the school year. After introducing any Jone's book, it flies off the shelf - and stays off the shelf. I've learned to buy multiple copies because teens get a littllllle cross when they have to wait on a hot title.
So Over My Head begins with a murder of Betty-the-Bearded-lady and ends with a surprise ending that will have your jaw dropping. Like Bella, none of us ... adult or teen, has just one problem to deal with at a time. In this true-to-life tale, Bella is faced with decisions that will have her turning to her family, her friends and most importantly God. It's a good, strong snapshot of what real Christian kids do and how they handle awkward, difficult and sometimes dangerous situations. In this story, Bella's faced with a conniving rival who wants her Luke, a step-father's absence from the family and her real father's upcoming marriange to a mysterious woman who has a secret agenda. In the midst of it all, Bella shines - as does Jones with her remarkable ability to tell a great story.
The witty dialogue is pure genius and you'll find each character has his or her own charm - even Ashley, the snarky little ex-girlfriend who keeps popping up at the most inopportune times. Red and Stewart, well, they are the perfect bad guys. Like me, you may find yourself booing and hissing at them when no one is nearby to hear you.

Bella is a realistic heroine, sassy and smart, and the action is nonstop. I had to keep reading for two reasons—1. I had to find out what happened next. And 2. If I put it down, my daughter would pick it up. There is some delicious romantic moments included in the pages of this book too. SO OVER MY HEAD, and this entire series, is a must read for teen girls (and their mother). With summer and carnival time coming, this book is great for a pool side read on a hot, lazy afternoon. $12.99. 318 pages.

This is the third book in the A Charmed Life series. It is a Christian Fiction mystyery book about a girl named Bella Kirkword. She is just getting settled into her new life in Truman, Okalahoma, when the Truman Family ircus comes to town. At first it is the same as every other year there. But then they find a dead circus lady. Bella starts to try to investigate and find out who killed her. But Bella is getting into dangr there and someone is out to kill someone else. In the meantime, there is drama with Bella's dad dating a suspitious new lady. Will everthing work okay, or will someone else end up dead?
I think this was a great teen Christian Fiction Book. I loved the romance element. Bella is in love with her schools newspaper editor, Luke. The problem; he already is kind of dating someone else. But Bella still pines away like a good teenage girl. I love how she is a Christian, but not a perfect one. She prays, yet she isn't the "perfect Christian Fiction role model that other books sometimes have. I thought this book was going to end thirty pages earlier, because the series was starting to wrap up. There was a last minute plot change that made the book end way better than I thought it would. It was a great book with great characters and a great plot. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great Christian fiction YA book.

Oh man I really really didn't want this trilogy to end!
I cannot even begin to explain how much I've enjoyed the story of Bella Kirkwood, when I started I truly didn't expect to get so hooked on but the story is just a gem and I ended up adoring it completely.
This novels have it all; they're filled with mystery and amusing moments, there's family and God and boys and friends and every little thing that makes life a wild journey.
Every single character in this novel is amazing and worth reading; from Hunter to Jake, I don't think the story would have worked out the way it did without any of them. Specially Luke, because come on wasn't he the perfect guy!
I truly wish this could have been a series and not only a trilogy because I feel there was still so much more to tell and I don't feel ready to part from this characters yet, I'm truly boomed that there's no more books after this.
.This is one of those stories that lets you with literary hangover because I truly don't feel like reading something next, I just want to remain inside this world and with this characters. Bella, Luke and the rest of the Thruman gang will remain with me for a long time.
