Growing up, she considered various careers and dabbled in several of them, including, after university, the travel industry, tourism, sales and modeling. Work in the fashion industry in Toronto and Montreal gave her an interesting peek into various aspects of that world. She learned that where money, power and people come together, there will always be unpredictability — an element she feels is essential to a strong mystery. Add a healthy measure of personal conflict, an intriguing setting and a spicy romance into the mix, and you have the ingredients for what she believes to be the best of all possible stories — a great romantic suspense.

Noel Lawson finds herself surrounded by five men in her house. Five men asking for her help in finding millionaire Jack Ransom’s kidnapped half-sister. But the man who captures her attention isn’t the guy in a power suit, a sleek ponytail and stud earrings in both ears. Nope, it’s the guy with collar-brushing hair, only one pierced ear, wearing faded jeans and worn boots. Jack Ransom in all his disheveled glory.
The kidnapper has taken quite a "liking" to our Noel, choosing her as liaison between Jack and himself, but soon his true motive becomes clear. He wants revenge on both Jack and Noel. And he will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
This book doesn’t reach Ms. Ryan’s true potential that she so masterfully shows in her recent work, but it’s still a good RS with just the right balance between romance and suspense, a great male lead, a female lead that is his perfect match, good pacing, great tension, and a villain that you won’t see coming (in the identity department) until the very end.
The chemistry was evident, the suspense pulsating with tension. 4 stars

Enjoyed the book, but it did seem a bit dis-joined at times (trying to follow the clues in the mystery).
