Lucy Proctor watches the women who come and go in Aristotle Levakis’ life. She has no desire to join them, despite Ari’s devastating good-looks, and is perfectly content as his assistant – or so she tries to convince herself!
Ari shouldn’t find his prim and plump secretary attractive, but something about her calls to him. He knows there is only one way to overcome this desire – and that is to sate it...
Abby Green spent her teens reading Mills & Boon romances. She then spent many years working in the Film and TV industry as an Assistant Director. One day while standing outside an actor's trailer in the rain, she thought: "there has to be more than this". So she sent off a partial to Mills & Boon. After numerous rewrites, they accepted her first book and an author was born. She lives in Dublin, Ireland and you can find out more here www.abby-green.com
It’s official!!! Abby Green is No.1 on my Mills&Boon/Harlequin favorite list.
I love her writing style, her characters, her settings, her emotional and witty dialogue and her refreshing and fabulous story lines. I will read anything written by her, not just once but many times over.
Ruthless Greek Boss, Secretary Mistress is one of my all time favorites and I have read it so many times and yet it pulls me right in every time. The often used “office romance” is given an amazing “spruce” up!! Exciting, glamorous, sensual, romantic……. And wow………..I just LOVE IT!
The h/h are two characters that remain with you long after you have finished the story.
It’s just not possible for one to not fall under Lucy Proctor’s spell – is it any wonder that her boss can’t either!! Hiding her beauty under the ugly clothes and not-needed ugly glasses (it’s not because she doesn't have fashion sense but a much deeper and disturbing reason – which you will have to read the book to find out…sorry…can’t give too many things away!!!), is a person with heart and soul. The two Lucy Looks.. Ari Levakis is something special.
He’s alpha, he’s gorgeous, he’s rich, he’s sexy, he’s somewhat domineering and at times a bit arrogant…but…, a heart beats underneath the veneer that the world sees. He has become my ULTIMATE GREEK HERO!!!!!!! I fell him love with him from the moment he opened his office door!!!!
Did I mention that he’s beyond sexy????
“You did like it….when my tongue touched yours…when you let me explore the sweetness of that mouth. Did I tell you that I’m fascinated by the gap in your teeth? Right now all I want to do is kiss you again until you’re boneless in my arms that all I’d have to do is carry you to the couch over there…..”
Did I say that Ari never gives up????
“Say what you want Lucy, if it makes you feel better, but know this: we will be lovers. It’s as inevitable as the inclement English weather. There’s something raw and singularly powerful between us and I have no intention of letting you go – either in the boardroom or in the bedroom.”
Lucy is unable to resist this man. Why do I so understand this???
Aristotle folded his arms and that was worse – because where his shirt might have hidden those biceps, now she could see them in all their olive-skinned, bunched glory. Lord, but he was beautiful and her body was reacting like the Road Runner seeing his mate in the distance. That heart of gold beating in Ari’s chest that I referred to previously………
“No. Look…I have my reasons for not wanting this. I just… want you to respect that.”
Ari fought the most intense battle of his life….. His body burned and ached. He felt hard from tip to toe and couldn’t believe she was denying them this. But he found some strength from somewhere.
In that instant something inside him melted. He wanted this woman with a passion he’d never known before, but he didn’t want to force her. Suddenly the urge to take Lucy to bed was superseded by his wanting to reassure her. He had the insane impulse to pull her close and tell her everything was going to be OK. This man is hot and irresistible………It’s totally understandable that Lucy enticed! He lifted a hand and gesture. “Come closer.”
Ari was so right!!!! Underneath the frumpy image lived a beautiful and sensual woman….
Seeing a heavily brocaded chair beside the bed, Lucy lifted one leg to rest her foot there and started to peel one stocking down…
Aristotle knew that the only thing keeping him from jumping out of the bed and burying his aching hardness into her as she bent like that over the chair was the knowledge that, given one touch of her skin, he’d lose all control.
I might have been drooling a bit here…so am stopping right now before I get too “mushy”...ooh….I know I did become a bit sappy ….but when it comes to Ari & Lucy…this girl can’t help it!!!
Okay, enough….if you haven’t got my “swoon” drift by now...JUST GET OUT THERE AND GET THIS BOOK……and start reading…because by Page 2….you are going to be hooked..and just like me, you will adore the last last page!
I hated this hero. I don't care if his stepmother hit him when he was five, he was a sexual harasser in the workplace and a PIG who wouldn't take no for answer.
I don't see what the weak-kneed heroine saw in him. He was bad news from start to finish. Here are three examples: He went through women like socks and then when heroine wouldn't put out for him and tendered her resignation, he threatened to sue her.
Later in the story when his half-brother was attacking her, he didn't take her side - he was more worried about his merger being compromised.
And finally, he blackballed her from any other jobs when she quit his company.
I won't go into detail at how he humiliated her at the jewelry store or how he threatened to out her famous mother's dementia to the press if she didn't jump at his command.
Can you tell I hated him? She was an idiot to put up with him so long.
I didn't find this romantic in the least. He was a good-looking version of Harvey-what-his-name-#metoo-guy. *shudder* Two stars because I couldn't stop reading to see what piggy thing he was going to do next.
Lucy Proctor is plump "wantonly voluptuous", wears glasses, and has a gap between her two front teeth. She is FAR from the tall, skinny blondes that her boss, Aristotle, usually goes for. And yet . . . ever since she started working for him as his EA, Ari lets go of his current mistress far earlier than he had wanted. And soon, Little Ari can't seem to get it up for anyone EXCEPT Lucy. He starts OBSESSING on Lucy's hourglass figure until it becomes almost a fetish. Finally, he can't take it anymore; he just HAS to have her!
Aristotle is described as "ruthless" in the book and he certainly shows it. While I wouldn't technically call his behavior Sexual Harrassment, he does dance up to a line that, at times, border on uncomfortable for me.
I did, however, enjoy having a hero that was obsessed with a "big girl" for once. Both H/h had emotional baggage and the way Green gave respect to each history, the way Lucy stood up to Ari so that he wasn't always the one in control, and the way Green showed Ari falling slowly in love almost against his will made this category romance my favorite from this talented Modern/Presents author.
Note: altho not part of a series, the couple from the author's earlier The Kouros Marriage Revenge makes a cameo in the book. I *think* that was the only other Greek hero AG has done so far so, of course, they must know each other!
This is a companion piece to The Virgin's Secret, and, eh, I think I may have read about one too many rampantly sexual Greek heroes in a row.
Lucy is the sweet and very voluptuous secretary to alpha romeo, mistress a minute Ari aka Greek tycoon/billionaire. Take your pick.
Ari sees Lucy in a tight skirt. Ari wants Lucy. Ari gets Lucy. Lucy has a short shelf life due Ari's romantic wandering ways stemming from Mommy issues. In this case, it's not that his mother was a abandoning, cold maternal unit. Nope, she dies early; his father remarries to a cold maternal unit of a step-mother that slaps him and sends him off to boarding school at five. Ari has sex with women, but because
Very voluptuous little Lucy doesn't have much personality, but does hold her own at the end when he pulls out all the stops to get her to be his mistress/girlfriend.
I think I am getting tired of all the suspicious minds in these alpha characters.
Re-Read It was better on the re-read. Ari is still just as arrogant this time around as he was the first, and he does a leetle too much inner monologuing on his and the h's social/class differences (both aggravating and intriguing), but he is head over heals for her.
The sexy/seduction talk on the part of the H is a little shocking.
Just reread this and I hate to say this but I didn't remember it. I am getting old!! But I loved it. Yes it was old skool boss and secretary. She was a larger girl and he was utterly besotted with her by the end. There were times he was an everloving jerk too. He wasn't celibate after meeting her but he was once he started to notice her. There were times he was downright cruel too. But then he would make up for it. And the chemistry was smoking hot!!! I loved the ending with her Mother, the hero and their two kids. It was perfect.
First Read
I have never read this before but it was just okay. Ari the H was hot but he was such a jerk. Also can anyone say Sexual Harrassment? It was really bad too. He watched her get dressed and he told her that he would block any chance of her getting another job if she left. I am glad she didn't cave. The ending was cute and all in all it held my attention and the chemistry was hot.
I finally got my hands on this book and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it! Abby Green is one of my favorite authors and she does not disappoint in Ari and Lucy's story.
Lucy Proctor is one voluptuous, sexy PA working for Aristotle Levakis, who happens to be one drop dead gorgeous, but very ruthless boss. He is infatuated with Lucy's luscious curves and will stop at nothing to get her into his bed and life. He isn't interested in long term relationships and he hopes that whatever he feels for Lucy will burn itself out quickly.
I only have two negatives about the book.
1) There were definite times that the author crossed the line into sexual harassment and I found I was very uncomfortable when that happened. Especially since Lucy is responsible for the care of her mother with Alzheimer's and is very dependent on the job.
2) Really struggled with the title. For as good as this book is, it is worthy of a better title!
The sequel to this book is the Virgin's Secret, which has all the tension and chemistry as this, but without the sexual harassment. For that reason, I liked it so much more. I also think I understand why this book was not and will not be released in the States. It hovers in some areas that would be considered npc.
Rich, ruthless, handsome, and determined doesn't even begin to describe Aristotle Levakis. He goes through women like sands through an hour glass. One day he slams into his secretary in the elevator and notices all of her lucious curves. When he takes a closer look at her and realizes he's beyond attracted to her curves, he desparately wants her not only in his boardroom but also in his bedroom. He's working on a secret deal and has the perfect plan because she's signed a confidentially agreement. He'll take her with him to Athens making sure she's not only working with him on the merger, he'll also make sure she shares his bed. He is absolutely relentless in persuing her, coming on to her, telling her it's only a matter of time, touching her, kissing her senseless and poor Lucy Proctor is so overwhelmed as she too is attracted to him. However, her childhood is holding her back and memories of her mother's men.
Lucy Proctor doesn't even have a clue just how lovely she is both inside and out and tries to camoflage her looks by wearing glasses, tying her hair up and wearing baggy clothes. She's been working a few years for the striking and brilliant Greek boss and he definitely unsettles her. On top of eveything else, whenever Ari breaks up with his georgeous lovers, he has Lucy buy gifts and sending thank yous notes to his latest flavor of the month and she doesn't approve. When he suddenly comes on to her she's taken back and can't believe he could be attracted to someone like her.
The weeks spent together working, playing, making love were fantastic to read. Ari was relentless in persuing her and couldn't seem to get enough of her. It was a very confusing time for him. And for Lucy, she realizes she's in trouble because she's aware that she loves him and knows it will not be returned and their affair will soon have to end.
In the end, the message was very clear for both Ari and Lucy.....they had both been alone and lonely. However, Lucy did have a mother who loved her but Ari had no one to neither love him nor stand up for him. In the end both Lucy and Ari realize what's important in life. For them it was security, acceptance for who they each were and most importantly, being loved.
Huh! Heroine said no to being his mistress even when she was between a rock and hard place! Take that you bastard! And he tried blackmailing of course and she didn't give two shit! Guy really dies like a strong woman!
Well rarely do I try to make my husband participate in my Harlequin mania. But I had to make an exception for this book. The sexual harassment thing could not be suffered in silence and he had to share the ire with me. That was pure D sexual harassment people. The man needed some serious repercussions. Of course he was the boss and owner of the company but surely it's illegal in England the same way it is in the US? There must be an equivalent of the Civil Rights Act and the Equal Employment Agency?
Okay, moving on. It was very readable. The heroine needed a much stronger backbone. But the hero really takes the cake. In addition to the harassment, it takes him to within 20 pages or so of the end of the book to realize that he loves her and it might behoove him to treat her better.
It was an ok reading, but this hero will go in the psychopath section. He’s a stalker and a harasser. She’s his pa and he ruthlessly seduces her blackmailing her whenever she refuses. This really gave me the creeps. He threatens to sue her in the beginning when she says she will resign, forcing her to go to a trip with him, ok it’s work but he tells her he will seduce her. She’s uncomfortable with that and he insists, I couldn’t accept his continued mauling her, kissing and touching her even if she told him didn’t want. It’s not consensual, because even if she was attracted by him with her body she wasn’t willing to have sex with him. I didn’t like it. Eventually they have sex and the affair was quite smooth but in the end he made two other awful things. She resigned and he accepted first, then he changed his mind and prevented her from finding another job so she would be forced to work with him. Is he crazy??? And this because he wanted her as his mistress, knowing she needed to work because she was keeping her mother in a clinic??? This is criminal. Then he tried to force her to go with him to Greece and when she refused he threatened to reveal the mother’s illness to the press ( the mother was a notorious dancer) what is in his head??? I was really disturbed by this performance of his, a display of power unbalance where an innocent woman who only wanted to work, is forced to satisfy his dirty needs? What an awful man he is, I don’t think I can accept that with a man like that the heroine could be ever happy. The heroine was lovely and proud, she was hurt by her previous experience with her mother and didn’t want to be a man’s toy, I loved her when she refused him in the end, I really felt bad for her because she was a brave and honest woman. Anyway I enjoyed the book, it was really angsty and eventually the hero tried to redeem himself ( but I have my doubts)
You know the saying, "To a hammer, everything looks like a nail?" To this H, every "no" from the h looks like an opportunity for loathsome, disproportionate blackmail:
H: I demand you drop everything and fly away with me, leaving your invalid mother alone. h: No. H: Well, I guess I'll have to let the media know where your mother is, thus killing her since she is so vulnerable right now.
H: I want you to stay working for me so I can wear you down about becoming my mistress. h: No. H: I guess you'll starve to death since I have scuttled your interviews with every company in the city.
He doesn't seem capable of self-regulation, which could be a problem if they marry: H:I want bagels for breakfast h: I want waffles. H: Too bad I've poisoned all the maple syrup. h: We have a cook! Can't we have both? H: Oh, yeah. (Calls to the kitchen). Bettina, could you please make waffles for my wife? No syrup. Bettina: Of course, sir! h: See, we can compromise! They smile at each other. Power blinks and they hear a shriek. The house is pitched into darkness. H: Oops. I also hot-wired the Mickey Mouse waffle iron so it would spark and catch fire.

So, I read this book again on seton's recommendation and it was good though like a HP it had many head-banging moments. The constant fascination the hero Ari had with Lucy's figure. The boss/secretary thing=sexual harassment and he was guilty of it, he more or less blackmailed her into continuing with the job when she wanted to resign because she had body image issues and was feeling uncomfortable with his attentions. Then they move to Athens where Ari's hated step-mother and half-brother stay, for a secret business deal. The hero messes up in typical HP fashion and then realizes he can't live without the heroine and HEA.
Green has a gift for taking familiar plotlines and infusing them with so much passion, they feel fresh and interesting again. There’s nothing particularly new in this story -- in fact, it has a number of my romance pet peeves -- but it still held me in its delightfully angsty grip.
I devoured this book. I finished it at 4 am with happy tears. Yes, tears. I cannot fathom how fucking brilliant this book was. I instantly knew I would like the book if the author managed to maintain the plot (I have read books when they have not), Ms. Green managed to blow.my.socksLITERALLY.
Meet Lucy Procto
Twenty-three-year PA who had body so lush that it rivalled a goddess and ignited major problems in the lower regions of her player billionair boss. Let me tell you, as a female reading I began to appreciate and find Lucy more sensual (almost in rival to my book heors) the way Ari described her. If it was not clear, Lucy was the personal assistant to a ruthless greek god billionaire, Ari.
He just cannot seem to get his 'lush' curvy assistant out of his head so he becomes hell bent on getting her into his bed.
Even though the plot may sound typical, the journey of these two lovers coming together was so beautiful. The book had everything. You name any emotion. P.S. I liked how jealous our sexy Greek lead got.
Rating (out of 5)

Would I read this again FUCK YES! Would I recommend this book Wth are you still reading this review for? GOOO! Would I read other works of this author yes
So, I still take issue with how high-handed Ari was: ruthless described him to a tee. He bulldozed through Lucy's defences and qualms, and some of their early interactions was a bit squicky. :| I might even call it harassment. She had every right to say no, even though her body might say yes - and you DEFINITELY shouldn't call her out on how turned on she is. EW!
Nevertheless, the tension was still as palpable as the first time I read it. Good, good, good stuff; enough to overcome the concerns I had anyway. :)
-----
Hot. Smouldering. Intense. What other adjectives can I use to describe this book?? Nothing can even come close to just how deliciously tense the first half of the book was. The intensity of the attraction between Lucy and Aristotle (better known as Ari) was amazing.
Having said that, there was also something intensely wrong about a guy hitting on his secretary. The power play between them... made me feel really uncomfortable, despite the palpable attraction.
Still, both H and h's actions and reactions held true, and I couldn't fault any of it. And it didn't heavily impact upon my feelings for the book. It was still a fantastic read, and now I want to go and find more Abby Green books to read.
This is what I called electric sexual tension! Less than 200 pages but thankfully, I connected with the characters (usually with short stories I don't) The title, his name and the bit rushed ending didn't like very much. Aristotle is an ALPHA. Almost lossing it sometimes. His "coercive mode" to handle any situation made me shake my head. Sometimes I wanted to slap him. But then he realised, don't hate him yet. His desire for her, for her curves! So hot! I really liked this one :D
This is my first Abby Green novel and I really loved it. The 2 central characters, Ari (fabulously strong Greek name) and Lucy seem to be so different. She is a prim and proper 'plain-looking' PA and he's, as the title suggests, a ruthless Greek boss. Only its not really that way on both counts. A very enjoyable read.
A story of two people drawn together but so very afraid to love.
Both scarred by their pasts and no understanding their pull to each other, they embark on a romance filled with angst, jealousy, uncertainty until the point the figure out their feelings and live on to their HEA.
Perfect work place setting from AG. The h and H had intense chemistry burning up the pages. I think I’ll go for a re-read!
Lucy is PA to Ari, almost new to her job but has been in the firm for two years. With her boss dumping his latest fling into Lucy’s hands -where she has to close off the non-relationship with sending an expensive meaningless something- Lucy is convinced that she can never be used that way.
Lucy also has a famous mother who is now ailing and recovering in a hospice. With being trailed around all her life with her mother and her various lovers Lucy will anything but accept being someone else’s temporary solution.
One fine day the H begins to notice that his PA is actually quite a looker. He teases her without reprieve and notices how she gets all jittery and bashful. Their chemistry picks up and he finds out that Lucy thankfully isn’t an easy lay. She holds her stand and keeps him off, pushing him away until he loses his composure and gets to the basics of being a total controlling caveman.
The H was alpha, demanding, commanding and relentless in his pursuit of the h. The h knew she’d be flicked off like yet another mistress so she kept fighting him off and that only gave way to their extremely hot chase.
I won’t lie, it was easy reading but I loved it!! There wasn’t any OM or OW drama. I’d have liked an OM to rile up the H because he really was just short of hurling things around if the h won’t accede to his bullying. Toe curling and stuff melting .. :D
I totally forgot to write a review on this book!! There are so many great reviews on it already but here goes.. I fucking LOVE THIS BOOK though.. Lol
Ruthless Greek Boss, Secretary Mistress by the very talented Abby Green takes one on a very ruthless journey with a high degree of sensuality and explodes with passion! It was so incredibly dangerous and intense and I couldn't put it down nor at times stop crying. It was that extreme and emotional.
During the final chapters of this wonderful and brilliantly written romance by master storyteller Ms. Green, be prepared for tears and up and down emotions. In the end, the message was very clear for both Ari and Lucy.....they had both been alone and lonely. However, Lucy did have a mother who loved her but Ari had no one to neither love him nor stand up for him. What I took away from Ruthless Greek Boss, Secretary Mistress was for both Lucy and Ari was their realizing what's important in life. For them it was security, acceptance for who they each were and most importantly, being loved.
I'm always a sucker for "office romances" or "boss-secretary" It's one of my all-time fave tropes. And Ms. Green delivered that in spades. Even though the plot was often used, Ms. Green could write Ari and Lucy's love story beautifully with so much sensuality and passion that I couldn't put the book down. I devoured it in just one sitting. There's something special about Ari and Lucy that has me sucked into their story.
Lucy Proctor is a great character. Loving, hard-working, smart, healthy, and willing to stand up for what's right. I loved her determination, and she never allowed herself to be steamrolled over by the hero. And even though she loves him, she stuck to her principles. I also loved Lucy because she's unaware or doesn't know just how beautiful she was both inside and out. She's impossible not to love. And I loved the way Ari described her as a sensual and very passionate woman!
Ari. *sigh* He's gorgeous; he's sexy and hot, rich, possessive, a total alpha, arrogant, domineering, stubborn, and at times a bit bossy. And did I mention that he's a dirty talker too??? Gosh! He made me feel all squishy inside!
The chemistry between them was freaking off the charts! The sexual tension was palpable. And oh my! Were these two hot! I loved the whole slow sexual, seductive build between them - that was so hot and fun to read! And when they finally got together? Scorching HOT!
I loved this book! It's one of those feel-good stories that leave you smiling for days. This will be added to my list of re-readable books! Overall, I couldn't get enough of these great characters, and I enjoyed every minute of this book!
This utterly compelling MODERN was an example of Abby Green at her very best. A complex hero with emotional scars and a vulnerable heroine made for a interesting mix set in an idyllic Greek / London setting, which unfolded with the author's usual deftness of touch. A highly recommended read from one Mills & Boon's star authors!!
I really enjoyed this book. Ari, Greek billionaire falls hard for his PA Lucy. She is nothing like the mistresses he has dated in the past. The other women were all models, actresses etc... and all with very thin figures. Lucy is totally the opposite. A real woman with curves and a wonderful personality to match. The attraction is there from the beginning between them both. Lucy tries to fight it, but in the end she cant resist the temptation. They have a passionate affair in Greece, and Lucy falls in love with Ari almost immediatley. Ari falls in love too, but it takes him longer to admit it to himself and to Lucy. I love the romance throughout the book and I loved the ending.
I really loved Ari and Lucy when I read THE VIRGIN'S SECRET. I thought they were a wonderful couple in that story, and so I was happy that I read this book which told the story of how they met and found love.
I highly recommend this book. You wont be disappointed.
