Very bare-bones survey of some of history's more famous assassinations from Jean Paul Marat up through Rajiv and Indira Gandhi. Lee Davis (the listed author on my copy) gives some background to each historical figure, but doesn't really address motivations of the assassins themselves except in the most cursory way. This book could serve as a jumping off point for learning more about any of these assassinations, which I suppose is the real point of the book. This is not meant to be academic but a quick overview. I also don't like that he spends much too much time on conspiracies. It was good for some quick reading over my breakfast cereal.
I read this book almost 2 decades ago and never forgot it. After a few years of searching I was able to find it again and was not disappointed. It gives just enough info about each of these historical assassinations.
