Times of Change: Book I

Rate this book
NOT ALL MONSTERS HIDE IN THE DARK.

Set in an alternative magical version of Britain, named The Isles, during an Anglo-Saxon meets Medieval period. The story follows the life of Gwendolyn, a once ordinary girl, torn apart, rebuilt and mutated into wielding dark magic by a Mage named Searle. She escapes her torturous life with Searle and finds peace in Blostamarket, working as a healer. However, her life is changed forever when she meets a former knight, a Disgraced Nimrod, now a monster hunter for hire, Finn of Fortriu.

After a heart-wrenching journey of pursuit, revenge, brutality, torture and peril, it is a wonder if Gwendolyn will ever again find peace, as she once did, when she worked as a healer in the village of Blostamarket.

I was lucky enough to win a giveaway and get this beautiful book in the post from the wonderful author herself.
I got a stunning map, a beautiful bag and an incredible bookmark and even a little vile of poison (I'm not sure what it actually is)
The book itself is so incredible. I did get a pre edited copy, but I still cannot wait to read it. I don't read much Dark Fantasy but this sounds truly amazing.
Thank you so much Kerree Kendall for this incredible book. I cannot wait to dive in.

Here is the link to my YouTube, there will be an unboxing of the book within the next week.

I'd heard good things about this book series and it's definitely a 5 star read.

Though fairy tale ending it is not, be warned. It is however a great addictive read. Love the strong female lead in Gwen and seeing her and Finns story unfold. Think dark romance / fantasy / magic / twisted evil and spellbinding novel and that pretty much sums up this book.

Now off to download book 2.

Fantastic read. Gripped me within a few pages. Magical, heartwarming and heartbreaking. Each character making their presence known in the story. I'm not usually a fantasy book reader but I absolutely loved it. Can't wait for the next installment to find out what happens next. Highly recommend this book.

Kerree is the master of Demons,Magic&Monsters

One of the best opening chapters, I was turning pages I swear I felt like holding my hand over my eyes, as I seriously wasnt sure whether I could handle where Kerree was taking me, but it was breathtaking.
I dont want to reveal too much but this Author, is vibrantly dark & imaginative, the darkness is approachabe and crucial to the storyline . There is a rich tapestry of characters Evil, bad kinda good and naive.

Despite the books length, I literally could not put this book down! Each chapter has you guessing what will happen next keeping you on the edge of your seat. The story has everything, monsters, action, romance, treachery, mystery and a positively bitter sweet ending. I recommend this to anyone whether you are a fan of fantasy or not. I can not wait for the second installment!!

Wow! I have enjoyed every minute of this book. The story and characters moved and developed quickly enough to keep it interesting but not too much that I felt things where missing, and it was filled with great plots that didn't drag out or make me want to skip them. It was very difficult to put the book down and I'm really look forward to the next one.

Excellent and enjoyable

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of times of change. Normally I don't enjoy dark fantasy, however that was not the case with this book. The story and characters moved and developed quickly enough to keep it interesting but not too much that I felt things where missing, it was filled with great plots that didn't drag out or make me want to skip them. It was very difficult to put the book down and I really look forward to the next one :D. Thankyou Kerree for a very enjoyable book and congratulations I look forward to following more of your books

Unique story not quite what I was expecting a bit slow paced in places, but overall, I really enjoyed this story

Medieval dark fantasy with swords, sorcery and demons; a smorgasbord of action.

This was quite grounded in terms of fantasy really. I don’t mean it was lacking fireballs and bloodshed, just that it wasn’t a huge city/world destroying event of cataclysmic proportions.
Gwen is in hiding from the people who wish to use her powers for their own gain and her past is catching up with her.

Fortunately, she won’t be alone and when things do inevitably take a turn for the worst we have Finn to the rescue.
The book takes place over a period of years and so we cover a lot of ground, both physically and metaphorically.

There is a lot here that will appeal to the fantasy reader inside you and as is the way with most fantasy books, this is just book one of many to follow.
The set up for book two is obviously in place, but I couldn’t tell you where it will be going, which is clearly a good sign.

Unfortunately for me, there is a pretty solid romance thread in play and that does detract a little from what I prefer in my fantasy. That is entirely a preference thing though and i’m sure others will love it for that.
