What could possibly cause a beautiful, well rounded, bright-future female to stoop to the levels of an unaccomplished, unqualified bad-boy that would treat her nothing even remotely close to what she is worth? It happened all the time without fail. The sweetest girl always goes for that terrible worthless bad boy! Parker, the emotional adrenaline junkie, had so much to offer; she was the perfect catch, yet she chose to get involved with men a handful of notches below her level. The pattern repeated itself, always resulting with a broken heart and a swollen face full of mascara infused tears. Often dating these men for who they had the potential to be, they always ended up being the complete opposite of who they really are and it eventually became a mind game to get trapped into vulnerability so they could easily manipulate. Raw, uncut stories from one flawed woman; Parker takes you inside her mind allowing insight into her views and hidden emotions as she shares stories about her experiences and how she became addicted to a lifestyle. A tale of a young woman torn between infatuation and lust, denial and playing wifey.
I came across this book on Paris' IG page and I'm really happy that I bought it and added it to my collection. In Too Deep was a book that I needed to read since I'm starting my self love journey again and reading it was empowering. Parker was a relationship type of girl and she went on a major rollercoaster while dealing with different men that were nothing but lessons to her. The only con about this book was that it had some grammatical errors but that didnt stop me from closing the book because I wanted to finish it. Thats why I gave it four stars. I loved that the book has affirmations in it and I will definitely recommend this book to others who need a good read while embarking on their self love journey in relationships. Paris' storytelling is great too. This book was my first read from her and Im definitely gonna read more of her work.
I enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the concept. I definitely see where she was trying to go with the story line.
There were way too many mistakes though. A good editing and rework of how the chapters start and this book would definitely go up a few notches. (Let me edit this for you.)
There are a lot misspellings, errors, & incorrect names where they don't belong. Some of that made it hard to follow at times. I made sure to push through though, because I enjoyed her telling her own story and talking to the doctor as the background of it all. I enjoyed the positive type of affirmations in between chapters too.
All in all, I rate the book a 3.5 & would read another book by author.
