The first book in an exciting and inspiring new series from national bestselling author ReShonda Tate Billingsley

Their lives are nothing but drama. . . .

Camille can't believe her bad luck when she's ordered to join a church youth group after hiding her boyfriend from the police. She'll bide her time if that's what it takes to get everyone off her back, but it's the last place she ever expected to make a new friend. Angel has a secret that's got her running scared, so when she sees a flyer for the group, she heads to the church, hoping to find an answer to her problem. Now Rachel, their group leader, has a task for them that may just end their daily dramas and give them a whole new beginning.

They just have to take a leap of faith. . . .

Along the way, they meet tough-as-nails Jasmine and society-darling Alexis, forging friendships built on strength, loyalty, and faith. As the girls take up Rachel's challenge to honor their parents, they find that walking a new path isn't always the easiest way to go. But together, Camille, Angel, Jasmine, and Alexis will embark on adventures that only the best of friends can share.

Ready to go back to where GoodGirlz all started , for me as I said before I read this series back to front , so it was quite nice to see how the characters became friends and how they each found their way to the Good Girlz Youth Group run by Rachel. From Camille , who was sentenced by the courts as part of her community service to attend the group for harbouring her boyfriend who had escaped from Jail and later she finds out that he is definitely a scumbag and not worth putting her life in jeopardy anymore for him , to Alexis who attends the group as part of a community service project "the Junior League" she attends has to participate in and we later discover that behind her rich girl facade is in fact a rich girl in a broken home situation and that sometimes money can't buy everything to Jasmine - who has just moved to town and has started in the group as a way of controlling her anger and behaviour to Angel - fifteen, a runaway and pregnant .
Find out where the GoodGirlz started and their stories in Nothing But Drama. An excellent Christian Urban Fiction series for teens who enjoyed authors like Stephanie Morrill , Varian Johnson , Melody Carlson, Robin Jones Gunn and Nancy Rue.

Book Shout Out

"Nothing But Drama," written by ReShonda Tate Billingsley is an outstanding book. It teaches life lessons as well as morals. "Nothing But Drama," is about four girls who are all going through different types of growing pains. When these four girls meet for the first time, things didn't start off on a good foot. Some girls were confused, tough as nails and society- darling. As the four girls embarked on their adventures together they learned how to appreciate their life and parents.
From reading this book, I loved how each character had a different issue and perspective. I also liked the way the characters seemed real and the setting was well described. Also, this book has taught me how to cherish me parents, for they mean well. Everyone's parents may seem mean and annoying at one point but it's because they want the best for you.
For example , Camille and her mom had a relationship where they didn't really communicate. Her mom would raid her room to find her diary where she normally jotted down her thoughts. Camille hated that ! Also, her mom didn't like or approve of her boyfriend Keith. She pressured Camille to get rid of him and not associate herself with Keith , Camille also hated this as well. But, come to find out Keith had a child and a girlfriend and he was only using Camille! Isn't that crazy?

This is a " must read book."

The book Nothing But Drama is about 4 teenagers named Camille,Angel,Jasmine and Alexis.
The girls join to a church camp, every girl for her own reason.
Camille got into trouble because of her criminal boyfriend,Angel got pregnant and she is running away from her mother,Jasmine is acting tough but she has her own problems,Alexis got all the money in the world but even if her life look perfect it sure isn't.
At first the girls didn't like each other but over time with the help of Rachel their group leader, they learned that they were ment to meet each other and take part in the church camp.
Throughout the church camp the girls learned about each other problems, and they learned that as long as they stay together they can overcome anything.
I think that the book is okay,i don't find this book realistic at all so it's hard for me to connect to the characters.
I don't get some of the problems that the girls are dealing with, i think that some of their problems are so unimportant that it was just boring to see how much attention they got, especially Camille's problem,i still don't get why she is the main character.
I gave this book 2 stars because i feel that the main idea was important, which is respecting your parents.
The connection that i made is text to world which is about respecting your parents, i feel that it's really hard to teenagers today to respect their parents and help them whenever they can,the characters in the book also had this problem.
The only good thing that i have to say about this book is that it makes you understand that your parents and your family are the most important people in your life, and this are the people that will always stay in your life no matter what.
I would recommend this book only to teenagers, hopefully they can learn a thing or two about life.

Billingsley's choice to tell the story Nothing But Drama through various character's perspectives offers readers the opportunity to form bonds with the "Good Girlz" as they follow their journeys to maturity and self-discovery. While the story is recognized as Christian literature, which is not something I would typically read, Nothing But Drama's themes surrounding the necessity of maintaining respect for those one is surrounded by while experimenting with individuality are suitable for any audience. Billingsley leaves readers no choice but to get invested in Nothing But Drama, and I would recommend the novel to anyone looking for a story of self-realization.

This book was so good, I absolutely loved it. I’m happy Camille found comfort in the program and met some good friends.

Although she pissed me off getting back with that nappy-headed nigga. I’ll never forget that in the newspapers she was labeled as his FRIEND. If I was her that would be ringing in my head every time I saw him.

I read this series on a whim because I wanted something that wasnt too deep. This series tackles series issues without being graphic. I love that its a clean series for teenagers. I would definitely recommended this for tweens/teens.

I enjoyed reading this book. As a mom myself I can’t help but think of the scripture that says for parents to not be exasperating to our children. I hear my kids say “mom just chill out!”

I understood the thoughts and feelings of all the girls and I also understood the mothers as well.

Nothing But Drama by: ReShonda Tate Billingsley

This is an inspirational book about doing wrong things and aiming to fixing them, like with teen issues; with boyfriend drama and arguments with mothers and fathers. It’s interesting and motivational; and I think that it really helped me think about things that I’ve never considered before in my life. But it’s a good book, and a great read; and I'd recommend it to mostly teenagers who need some answers and inspiration. I thought that it was a good book and it flowed along nicely and all the problems and words just fit together like puzzle pieces to complete the story. :)
The story is mostly about some teen girls who mess up in their lives by doing with boyfriends, one has to hide her boyfriend from the police, one gets pregnant and the others all have issues with their family. They're asked to participate in a group organization that's fixed on helping girls "become good." At first, none of them like it as much but as things happen and more drama unfolds, the girls start to rely on each other to help them out in tough situations. And at the end of the book, the girls become close friends and all of their problems are solved. Very nice ending to a dramatic book for life lessons for teenagers.

Rachel, the first lady of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, founded Good Girlz Club, and Camille, Angel, Jasmine and Alexis all have different reasons for becoming a part of this community service group.
Honor Thy Mother and Father is the theme of this first book in Billingsley's Christian teen series. Camille seemed to be the only one who had a real problem obeying the Fifth Commandment, while it appeared that Angel (hurting & confused), Jasmine (angry & defensive) and Alexis (misunderstood) just needed their parents to show them love. Camille was disrespectful toward her mother, causing this hard-working woman all kinds of stress, throughout most of the story, and it took a life-threatening situation for her to appreciate the one parent she had left.
Teen sex & pregnancy, the mistakes girls can make when it comes to so-called boyfriends, running away, knowing how to recognize true friendship, taking a good parent for granted - all of these issues were addressed in this interesting, entertaining read.
This one was definitely a page-turner, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough while reading Chapter 21! I will definitely keep reading the books in this series.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But the characterization is weak, the narration is awkward, and the plot is, well, kind of lame. I think most of that stems from the author choosing the least interesting character as the main POV character and only briefly delving into the lives of the character with the most drama. Also, I just didn't get why I should care at all about Camille and I definitely didn't get what she saw in her boyfriend. Not to mention I still don't get how the book clearly reflected that the girls should honor their parents. I gave it two stars instead of one because I like what the book is trying to do; I just don't think it's executed well at all. I feel like I know less about the characters than I should and that's the part that bugs me the most.

This book is about a girl named Camille whose life is filled with nothing but drama. After being with her boyfriend Keith whom she hasn't seen in a long time since he's got out of jail. Being so happy to see him she would sneak out at night to be with him and let him come over her house not knowing that he had a warrant out for his arrest. She was then sent to be in a church youth group which was a community service for her because she did not want to be there and it was a requirement. Although she wasn't disrespectful, and she later ended up liking the youth group, it changed her life around and helped her to make better decisions as a young lady.

Being that this was the first book i think it was great. It showed some lessons learned, and more. Camille is in a world of her own and is a world of drama herself. I think that they will stay friends through the whole good girlz series which is 7 books. I only was able to but 5 of them so hopefully i will get 6 of them to how the girls relationship will play out. But for this to be the first book, this book was not only wonderful but nothing but drama. It really expresses the life of what some real teens go through. I think that alot of teens can relate to this book and adults.

I liked this book and will be using it as the first book in my Teen Book Club for girls that I am starting this month. I will begin at my church and start going to the High Schools to see if I can do it there. This series is based in Houston and written by a Houstonian. I read the series of six books so far and enjoyed them all because they deal with real issues that teens are facing and will help to promote discussion about these issues in the group.

Very good realistic fiction. It's a series that will be great. I believe a lot of girls should read this--might get the message across about believing/loving/caring for themselves, learning self-confidence and how to deal with family relationships. Highly recommend it.

Someone had left this on the counter as I was checking out, so I picked it up in hopes that it might be something like the enjoyable Miracle Girls series. Sadly it was more of a morality after school special, written by an adult desperately trying to sound like a hip, urban teen and failing.
