Great book. This book is not a book about Lupus, but a book on how to live well with Lupus. Small and large changes in life taken by the author, and really examining her life enabled her to live better and even well with lupus. Thumbs-up! Covers things such as a tracking system for symptoms/meds/activity as a means of tracking flare causes. Also covers ways of asking for help, things you can cut back on, and how to communicate with work, doctors, and your loved ones.
Finally got around to finishing this book. It's a very quick and informative read. Maybe I've been lagging because I didn't want the inspiration from this book to end when I was done with it. Learned quite a bit from the author, a fellow luppie. But what's most important to live life fully is to make it a priority to take care of yourself! Whether it be asking for help or taking mid-day naps. You deserve it! Especially if adds to a more healthier and fuller life! Recommended!
A lot of common sense advice about how to live well with lupus and not have your life revolve around it. Even though I've been diagnosed with lupus for almost 20 years, there was plenty of helpful things I learned from the book. Also, sometimes it's just comforting to know that you're not alone (at least for me).
This book is amazing and so in depth, everything you describe, I can appreciate. I had to take the hard decision to give up work too, but we have a new life now. Your book is so well written and inspirational. I am so glad I read it, and to know there is light at the end of the tunnel, with a little bit of rearranging. Excellent book.
Nothing revelatory here - it's simply common sense on how to deal with a chronic illness, but the advice is woven into a personal biography. It's the "this worked for me, so you try it" approach to coping with illness.
Great read. My physical and emotional experience of dealing with a chronic illness were eerily similar to the author's experience. You don't have to have lupus or an autoimmune disease to find it useful. It has a lot of good advice for anyone wishing to live well with chronic health problems. If you have a loved one suffering from an autoimmune disease this book will help you understand what they are experiencing and what you can do to help them live better.
Good read with lots of coping strategies. I'm starting my path to wellness after a long time struggling to keep up a good appearance. Frustrating thing is I should write a book of my own on coping with lupus as a single mother when you are the provider, parent and everything rolled into one. Trying to be able to maintain some type of income is difficult. I don't have option to work at home, but I'm going to try reducing my work hours to start my path to wellness

Great book for those looking for a positive way to deal with this diagnosis. I was able to identify with the author on so many levels. She gave so many wonderful tips that all of those with this disease should follow. Glad I found this treasure.
I read this book when my doctors were of the mind that I had Lupus and found it helpful even though I have since received a different diagnosis. Very useful insight on living with chronis illness.
