My favorite child's book. It can be read to 1 year olds, simple drawings but also shows the meaning of life. The cycle of creation to destruction loops into infinity. Multiple organisms are depicted through transitions, each linked to another and valuable for each other. This is the infinity circular loop.

At JPY1,300 this is a premium priced book, but form factor is larger than most. No words, only onomatopoeia.

Love it. Highly recommended.

I hadn't realized the talent that went behind making this book (the writer is a celebrated poet, and illustrator Sadamasa Motonaga is a celebrated painter and contemporary artist), so I can't say I immediately "got" this children's book told entirely through onomatopoeia. I feel like it could be a good read for the very young though; the lava lamp-like imagery is striking.
