There needs to be a higher star rating for how awesome this book was. Just the love, the loss, the death, and the evilness was all there. It was some of the aspects that a few Warriors books lacked and more. This book hit me hard and I will never forget this day where no one could move me from the couch as I clenched the book in my hands, announcing every time I hit a new chapter.

I can proudly mark this book:

I love this (these) series by Erin Hunter, I hope this isn't the last book though!
I just wish it'd been a tad more clear about who Dovewing chooses, Tigerheart or Bumblestripe!
I love that Cinderheart finally accepts Lionblaze, about time girl!
I think Jayfeather is still my favorite character, he's just so grumpy and lovable at the same time, hehe.
I wish Hollyleaf didn't die, I really did like her. She died saving Ivypool though, so it was a good death, a warriors death.
I'm glad Star Clan helped out, and so did the Ancient cats, Midnight, and Rock. I don't understand anything about Rock really, except he's blind, really old, grumpy (more so than even Jayfeather), and hideous.
This cannot absolutely cannot, be the last installment of the Warriors!! I can't have memerised all those names and cats for it to end like this!!! Noooooo..... Please, keep writing! I've read every single novel (not all the manga regrettably) and loved them all!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The Last Hope is the final installement in the final series of Warriors books (chronologically since 'the Erins' have said they would write a sort of prequel or origins series eventually). Words cannot describe how I have enjoyed this series as a whole. I got into it skeptically; wondering if even my love of cats wouldn't be enough to make a whole series of books with cat protagonists interesting. Thinking these were children's books that would probably bore me eventually...boy was I wrong. These books have more loss, grief, death and violence than most YA books out there, let alone children's books. There's something so utterly raw about these books; the emotions, the instincts. These cats are almost human...but much more primal. It's both simple and complex and it just tugs at the heartstrings. I think so many readers overlook this series because they think it odd or even childish as I once did and I'm so glad I took a chance on The Warriors...what a ride!

But back to 'The Last Hope'. I think it's fair to say that the whole 'Omen of the Stars' series has been a set-up for this book. The Dark Forest is rising, kept 'alive' by mere memory, they are training tirelessly to eventually cross over to the living world and face the four clans in battle. Starclan is no longer of any help to the living, as they too fear the Dark Forest. It's up to the three of the prophecy; Jayfeather (♥), Lionblaze and Dovewing, to find the fourth cat prophesised. They must find the fourth before light and dark meet in the final battle. I was a bit surprised to find that 'The Last Hope' got off to an almost slow start. I think it was mostly my expectations that the whole book would be one explossive installement. I would have docked maybe half a star if the ending hadn't made up for it. The Erins did indeed need to tie up some loose ends...set up some events up for the final battle looming. Once things start moving however: WOAH! The pacing is lightening speed and the shared narratives give the story even more intensity; kinda like the jerky camera movements action film-makers are so keen on these days, only without making you nauseous. :) As always battles in 'The Warriors' books are a gruesome affair. NO ONE is safe; the elderly and the young die in battle just like the rest of the Warriors.

I really enjoyed how most loose ends from the previous series came into play. Past storylines for Firestar, Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Leafpool and many more re-emerged and were resolved. Fans of the previous series will be pleased. Personally in the past two series my favorite has always been Jayfeather, and he will join Brambleclaw (♥!!) and of course Firestar as all-time favorite characters; so I enjoyed the way everything ended and while we suspected this ending was coming there were still some surprises along the way. I did find the last chapters were abrupt; everything happened so fast it was almost anticlimactic. But with me, theres always a longing when a beloved series ends...for it to go on. I deeply long to see my characters *after* all the ordeals; when they know peace and the war is over, I long to join them as they...go on. I can't wait to re-read the whole freaking series eventually. From 'Into the Wild' with no interruption till 'The Last Hope' with all the Super Edtions in chronological order, cause I'm a nerd like that!

All in all it ones quite a memorable and emotional ride with The Warrior Cats and I'm couldn't be happier I took a chance on these books way back when!

WOW. OMG. SO INTENSE; SO EPIC; SO INCREDIBLE; SO PERFECT! I LOVED THIS BOOK SO, SO MUCH AND IT HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ! JUST WOW...

Firstly, this is the final book in the OOTS series and the final book where we're with the current cats. We've grown with them since Into the Wild many, many books ago and now it's over. We won't be journeying with the current cats any more and it's so sad. We must take a moment...

There is going to be a 5th Warriors series after this, but set at the dawn of the clans. And whilst that's going to be very, very epic, it's sad to know that we won't be continuing with the current cats which I've really grown to love. I wish we could as I love them all in different ways. Thank you to all the Erin's - Vicky, Kate, Cherith and Tui - for writing such a fabulous, well loved series. We can't wait for the fifth series, but this is a sad moment anyway...

WARNING: PREPARE FOR ULTIMATE GUSH :D

Characters - 5/5 - PERFECT! I loved each and every single one of them in different, unique ways. I mean, I felt so much sympathy towards them throughout and when they were all battling at the end my mouth was open in shock at most parts when things happened towards the characters. I was basically speechless! And I’ve found that throughout this series the characters have all grown on me and this book really made me realise how much they had. I cared about cats that I didn’t even bother about before – it was so surprising to see how sad I was regarding some of their deaths. As mentioned earlier, it’s going to be very sad to not be continuing with this current group of cats as we’ve grown up with them throughout the series. I can’t express how much I love all the characters to be totally honest. There’s so many different personalities in there that it’s great for everyone!

Plot – 4.5/5 – Urgh, I was SO TEMPTED to give this a 5 and was so close to giving one! Seriously, I was! But I’m always honest no matter what series it is and have to say that maybe it could have fired into the battle a little sooner? Though it could just be because I was highly anticipating the battle, as has every reader of the series for many books! I was like: “PLEASE! HURRY UP; I WANT THE BATTLE RIGHT NOW!” But nevertheless, there was so much intrigue and emotion before then and I think building up to the battle was certainly suspenseful! But let’s talk about the battle! OH MY GOSH WAS THAT A BATTLE!! I mean, seriously one of the best Warriors battles ever – a great way to end of the book and the series! I was so shocked with my mouth wide open throughout and I couldn’t put the book down at all. It was so intense and gripping – you just had to find out what happened! I’m sorry for going on and on but seriously, you must read Warriors if you haven’t already. You don’t know what you’re missing out on and all fans will most certainly agree!

Writing – 5/5 – What else could I give other than a five? Seriously, you guys know how much I love the Erin’s writing style. It’s full of beautiful description with vivid, awesome adjectives, yet at the same time it’s not overdone and it’s a simple, easy-to-read style. I really did whizz through this book because of that! And it’s such a fast-paced style as well that it works perfectly with things such as the battle, but nothing feels rushed. The suspense was built up very nicely! And then there was great emotional build-up through the writing and as a reader you’re simply drawn in. You can’t do anything else but read! And the pleasure of a style like this is that it can be enjoyed by anyone both young and old – Warriors is definitely for all ages! So yes, PERFECT writing style and I couldn’t ask for better!!

Enjoyment – 5/5 – If you didn’t guess I was giving it a 5 you must have been dreaming off in a bin for the most part of this video! You can tell how much I loved it! IT’S PHENOMENAL! Superb characters, plot and writing style – one of the best Warriors books I’ve ever read and also one of the best books I’ve ever read out of all books. I really can’t talk about how much I love it and give it justice without all this gush. I just can’t recommend the book and the whole Warriors series enough!! Go read it right now!!

Overall – 4.9/5 – I really wish it was a perfect rating, but you know, it ALMOST is!! I have to re-read this again soon because I just found it to be fabulous. I really can’t thank everyone working on the Warriors books enough because since the first book they’ve been my favourite series ever and they’ll continue that way until they end whenever that may be. And my mind is still in shock about that battle and will be for ages! I couldn’t quite believe everything and was on the edge of my seat - a definite page turner.

Hope this wasn’t TOO gushy. I guess it is, but how else can I explain how much I love it? (Actually I typed a review before which deleted itself which was MORE gushy, but you know…)

The Warriors series was something that changed my life. I stumbled upon the first book in my uncle's home almost three years ago (the summer before Year 7), and was hooked ever since. So when the epic finale came out, I had to read it. Unfortunately, being in China, I couldn't get a copy until this morning.

With such an epic franchise to conclude, I was a bit worried that this book would be a disappointment. But while it was not a complete raging page-turner (which isn't that possible), it was far from bad. Absolutely stellar, in fact. Characterization is strong and fully developed for most of the characters who get screen (or page) time, which is impressive considering the large number of them. While others complained of poor characterization and Mary Sues, I never found flaws in this.

Plot points are all tied up in this, in which the motives behind the antagonists' actions are explained convincingly, and so are those of the protagonists (or the rare "caught in the middle" character). To finish more than twenty books' worth of intricacies and stories in one is commendable, and rather successful.

All in all, an excellent read. Does arguably just as well as HP's Deathly Hallows in terms of concluding, and just maybe even better. The ending is just awesome. Wrapping up everything perfectly, but still leaving enough to the readers' imagination (i.e the relationship aspects, which some fans consider extremely important).

Read it. You'll love it if you can let go of the "children's book" stigma. This is not just for kids. Adults will enjoy the subtle political undertones, and teenagers that have read the series appreciate the action and the "growing-up" phase the characters go through.

PS: The series "matures" with its readers, and progressively turns darker. Something I consider respectable, as Harry Potter does this quite well. Unlike other artistic ventures (mostly in music), which have let their fans down for commercial success, Warriors continues to deliver the goods.\\

Read on!

I am writing this review in February which way after I actually read the book (which was in October or something I think) so a few of the things are a bit hazy to me.

Likes:

* I really enjoyed the fact that Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight and Leafpool FINALLY made up. I am so so glad that the drama with them is finally over.

* Hollyleaf's death scene: sure it was sad but in my humble opinion it was really well written and probably the best authored scene in the entire book.

* Bramblstar became leader of Thunderclan. Even though I was a bit upset that the Erins went against what they had previously revealed as a spoiler (that Brambleclaw would not become leader), I believe that Brambleclaw deserved the position, and was glad to see him receive it.

Dislikes:

* The scenes with Rock and Flametail I just thought were absolutely pointless and added nothing to overall development of the story. Well maybe the Flametail scene helped a bit with convincing the Clans to bond together but that's about it. The Rock scene I absolutely loathed. He didn't say anything that Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Dovewing did not already know except the 'if y'all weren't born there would be no Dark Forest!' (I paraphrased there) I think that was supposed to make the story more dramatic and suspenseful, but to me all it did was make the story... cheesy.

* The simple fact that the Clans were easily convinced to bond together by the Three (and Starclan sorta) against the Dark Forest just zap like that. There was no serious arguing, no clan that took a lot longer to decide, no leader that decided to go rogue and join his Clan with the Dark Forest, nothing. I just do not see how at the end of book 5 the Clans can be at each others throats and will not even look at each other, but by book 6 they are all hunky dory and easily persuaded without any real fuss to team up against the DF (Dark Forest). Really? Don't tell me all trouble in The Forgotten Warrior was caused by the Flametail incident and when Jayfeather wrapped it up everyone was all cotton candy and sparkles with each other? I really think the whole book (and especially the final battle scene) would have been a whole lot more exciting if there had been more trouble with the Clans getting along (like maybe where the DF is picking off each Clan one at a time and finally the Clans that are left decide to align themselves together and fight off the DF).

* The Erins did not utilize their new villains as much as I thought they should. IMHO the book would have been a lot better if Sol had played a big role (since he played such a big one in the previous book) and if Breezepelt and even Mappleshade had made a bigger impact in the overall storyline. I just sort of felt like the Erins used the DF fight solely for the purpose of having Tigerstar make a cameo appearance and do his get back at Firestar thing. Actually this was the biggest reason I was largely skeptical about the whole 'DF vs Starclan' thing. It seemed like nothing more than a recycling of old antagonists and old plots.

* The book just seemed extremely rushed, especially the final battle. I could not understand how the previous five books were really slow dramatic build up and then have the final fight scene be nothing more than a really rushed battle where the cats just sort of claw at each other, and the Clans win without even really trying. This was supposed to be 10 times better than the Bloodclan battle. The Bloodclan battle was 10 times better than this.

* IT WAS JUST WAY TOO COMPLETELY CLICHE! Everything from the cheesy Tigerstar vs Firestar face off (I thought the Erins had Tigerstar killed by Scourge so that they could avoid a scene such as this?), to Firestar's subsequent death, was just nothing but overused plots. The 'big plot twist' (as if) is that it turns out that Firestar is the fourth cat and that the 'Fire only will save our Clan' was really about the DF battle, and not about the dogs, Bloodclan or Tigerstar in the original series. Of course I never completely understood what Firestar was supposed to do as the 'fourth cat' (actually the way things turned out, the three's powers were not really needed all that much). The 'follow your heart' thing with Cinderheart, was just... IDK, bad. And now I really do not understand why Cinderpelt reincarnated as Cinderheart, if she would only return to StarClan as herself later, without getting to live her whole life out as a warrior (wasn't that the whole reason for Cinderpelt coming back in the first place?) Finally, Spottedleaf's death scene was probably the most cliche thing in the whole book.

All in all I think I believe I am done with Warriors and Erin Hunter in general. I do not see myself reading the new super edition: Yellowfang's Secret, or the new prequel Warriors arc called Dawn of the Clans. I might try the new Survivors series but only because that series is written by different authors than Warriors ( authors using the Erin pen name like Warriors authors used the Erin pen name) so I do not believe I should judge that series by the fact that Warriors has just become too cliche. I believe that Warriors is like a dead horse that has long been beaten to a pulp. It is time to leave the series, and allow it to rest in peace. Only sometimes I wonder if Harper Collins (and possibly the Erins) are only stretching the series out because of the money involved. They seem to view Warriors as a franchise not a book series.

Edit: Okay, so I have spent some time thinking, and I have changed my mind. I think I will try Dawn of the Clans because I am willing to give the Erins a second chance. And also since Dawn of the Clans is a prequel series about the when the Warrior Clans first came to be, there is practically a 0% chance that the series will fall victim to putting old main characters that have long been in the background back into the limelight, and of a reusing of old villains when there are plenty of new, fresh antagonists that can be utilized (which was my largest problem with POT and OOTS). So I'll try it, with extreme skepticism that the series will be any good, but also a glimmer of hope that it will be something of a masterpiece.

*****SPOILER*****

I try to rate the Warriors series as what it is - not "great literature", but formula storytelling for juvenile or tween readers, holding more in common with Nancy Drew than Huck Finn. None of the installations have earned 5 stars from me, but several have earned 4, despite flaws such as repetitiveness, painfully manipulative cliffhanger moments and major-character introspection, anthropomorphizing to the point of nonsense, and glaring biological impossibilities. It is fantasy, after all, and as such it's allowed an improbable species of semi-socialist feral pussycats existing in a mystical alternate Earthworld, as long as the narrative maintains integrity and consistency within its kittyverse - which, for the most part, the series as a whole does.

That said, this book disappointed me. It ties up loose storylines too neatly, resolves all long-festering interClan conflicts simplistically, and is overly sentimental with major heroic characters while dispatching undead archvillains and longtime secondary characters with perfunctory indifference. There is little emotional subtlety or introspection here. The plot is functional and action-driven - serving equally as a finale to Firestar's saga, and as a bridge to a possible subsequent series - but the mechanical formula is appallingly obvious in the writing. I'm not sure whether I want to see a "next generation" series, as the writers' effort and creativity peaked a couple of story arcs ago and seems in decline. Maybe they just need the inspiration of a fresh batch of major characters. (I would like to see Ivypool develop as a likely mantle-inheritor - she kicks serious ass while also displaying antihero potential.) Or maybe the franchise has played out.

Oh my gosh. I HATED the end to the series. The first series was amazing, and it went downhill from there. This book was the worst of them all. I could rant for hours on how bad this book was. First off, in the final battle, the three had nothing big to do in it. The clan cats would have been fine without them. And how many cats died? Like, only six. -.- Seriously? It's a battle against the greatest villians of all time, who have killed hundreds, and only SIX cats die? What is up with that. They all should have been Massacred. Really.

Next thing. It was predictable. Except the part of Firestar being the ''fourth'' cat. I mean, come on. He sits around on his furry bee-hind, being nothing but a lazy old fart, and suddenly he swoops back in and becomes a hero of the last book. Really? You expect people to actually like him? I only liked him in the first series, the rest I hated him. Every time he lost a life, I'd be like, "PLEASE let him freaking die already."

The sad thing is, I had freaked out over this book. I thought that maybe they could redeem themselves by actually writing a good book. I thought that the Erins might end on a good note. I counted down the days until the book, hoping, thinking it would be amazing. I thought wrong. My hopes were off, very off. It was one of the worst pieces of trash I have ever read. My favorite part was when Firestar died. Couldn't Bramblestar have died too?

Sorry to rat on the book that plenty on people might have liked, but I hated it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wanted to read a good book. Just skip it and look what happens up on Wikipedia. Save your precious time. Please.

I cannot comprehend how much I love PoT and OotS. This last instalment was truly epic. It was an emotional rollercoaster and I have to admit that I often had to held my tears in.

The final battle was really good and I couldn't stop reading, even if I tried. The little moment between Jayfeather and Half Moon was so sad, they're one of my favourite ships. Also, props to Ivypool, she was really cool.

Anyway, here are some awesome quotes from this book

"I will die a tenth time to defend ThunderClan!"

- Bluestar

"StarClan!" Jayfeather stepped forward and lifted his chin. "Listen!"
"Why?" Yellowfang yowled. "We have the wisdom of ages. You have the stupidity of youth!"

That one made me laugh so hard

"You lived like a rogue. You can die like a rogue"

- Firestar to Tigerstar

There will be three cats, kin of your kin, with the power of the stars in their paws. They will find a fourth, and the battle between light and dark will be won. A new leader will rise from the shadows of his death, and the Clans will survive beyond the memories of his memories. This is how it has always been, and how it will always be.

"You came," Jayfeather whispered.
"Of course, my love."

I was highly disappointed in this book... In fact, I hardly enjoyed any of the books in the "Omen of the Stars". Ever since the first series (which I absolutely adored), it just kinda start rolling down hill and The Last Hope was at the bottom. The plot just didn't add up in the end, and when Firestar was suddenly thrown back into it, I was like "What!?" After he became a side character after the first series, it makes absolutely no sense to suddenly put him back in the spotlight. But if it were up to me, Firestar would have been killed off a loooong time ago.

It lacked in the amazing detail that "The Darkest Hour" had, and the style it was written in was difficult to read. In fact, I had to re-read the last couple of chapters because I honestly had no idea what was going on. You would suspect this huge, bloody battle, with tons of detail, but all that happened was Dovewing jumping around, clawing come cats, and suddenly Firestar was the fourth cat in this prophecy which really didn't make a lot of sense.

And why would Brambleclaw make Squirrelflight his deputy after he became leader? Just so he could show her that he "forgave her"? Thinking back on all of Squirrelflight's mistakes, she should have been the last cat to choose. Anyways, not a book I would recommend, unless I hated the person. I'm thinking that a better ending would have been to just kill off ALL the characters, and be done with it. Or maybe, even stopped writing after the 2nd or 3rd series.

(It's been a while since I finished this, but I've finally got around to writing this review. I actually wrote this review the minute after I finished it, but that was my hand written one, not the one on here.)

I can't do it. I can't write a review of this. I'm lying on my bed, nose and eyes still burning from crying so much, and I just...can't.

This series...is the reason I love reading. I still remember the day Mama put Warriors: Into the Wild in my hands when I was ten years old. And I didn't want to read it! Can you believe it? I didn't like reading back then, but once I started Into the Wild, I couldn't stop.
Soon, I made Mama get me the boxed set of the first Warriors series and devoured that. And ever since, I've bought every new Warriors book to come out and even reread the entire series just last year.
And now? With the last book done, four years and twenty-four books later, it's just an incredible and immensely sad feeling.
If I hadn't read this series, I probably wouldn't have gotten into reading, and I would still be that TV addicted little kid with a boring and uneventful life. Now, my whole life depends on reading, and I owe it all to the women that make up Erin Hunter.
Thank you, Erin Hunter, for creating something I will cherish until I die.
Look at me, I'm already a nostalgic old woman.

Truly brilliant series. I will be reading it time and time again.

Do not read this if you haven't read the book.

You have been warned.

Ok, Let me just say that this book marks the end of a chapter in my life. I would like to thank the warriors for..for... everything they did to help me. This has been an amazing experience..

And now, for the book. The fourth cat? Pure genius. I LOVE YOU FIRESTAR, AND I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad to get that out. The beginning was a bit slow, wit the same slow sssslllloooooowwww buildup of the last 5 books. Then, the action started building. They found the fourth cat, and he (Firestar) brought the clans together. And then. THE BATTLE. OH. MY. GOSH. There were some heartbreaking deaths. Hollyleaf, Ferncloud, Mousefur, Spottedleaf, I love you all. And the final confrontation between fire and tiger? Priceless. Firestar, you will hold a special place in my heart always. I'm so sorry, Sandstorm.
Bramblestar made the right decision in picking Squirrelflight as his deputy. I hope they can have actual kits now. You know who will also have kits soon? LIONBLAZE AND CINDERHEART!! That's right folks! I don't know what will happen with Dovewing and Tigerheart, but I'm sure that they will be together in the end. I think Bramblestar will be a good leader. He is a wonderful cat. And I think it's right that he and Hawkfrost faced off in the end. I think the warriors face a brighter future than ever now... I think the end was perfect.

Even a month later, I’m still disappointed about The Last Hope. Maybe the problem was that I was so excited and had such high expectations since this was the conclusion of eleven books.

The beginning of the story was so promising though. We see faces from all the arcs and it is shown that everything is connected – this was really clever and made me almost already cry in the prologue.

There were still some other moments I enjoyed: I liked that all open conflicts are resolved, how a good finale should do it. In the epic moments building up to the final battle, I felt so much love for the characters and was worried for them since the Dark Forest was depicted as a true threat. The atmosphere created was amazing, especially seeing how StarClan turned dark as well – the classic calm before the storm atmosphere I absolutely adore in books.

But there were many moments I didn’t like: We still have this weird and stupid murder plot around Jayfeather from The Forgotten Warrior. StarClan was stupid as well; their reasoning for telling the Clans that they should not interact with each other was so illogical. I wish they would’ve just told the cats who the fourth cat is because it makes no sense for them to not tell them, since the end of the Clans is near (or something). It was obvious though who the fourth cat would be, and I guessed it right. But this fourth cat had no significant impact on the story at all.

Another problem I see with the story is that with the Dark Forest, the boundaries between the real world and the world of dead are broken down constantly and we never get to know about the limits of this concept. I wish we would get to know how the Dark Forest cats are exactly able to go to the “real” world because it all sounded a bit unrealistic, even for Warriors standards.

Now coming to the biggest thing about this book: the finale! Like I mentioned above, the biggest problem is that this finale was teased for eleven books, but I couldn’t help but think “That’s it?”. I don’t know, the cats fight for a few chapters like they regularly do and then this great evil is defeated? I can’t really put it into words, I was just disappointed by it. Furthermore, only few cats died, even though this was supposed to be the end of the Clans.

The finale felt more like an all-star meeting for Warriors where they wanted to drop as many names as possible from the past books. Honestly, sometimes the Erins should just let some cats die. There is a similar problem with the big fights in the finale, like because those were all moments that we already experienced in past books, so that they barely had any emotional impact. And they were not even close to being as epic as in the originals.

But now getting to my more spoiler-y thoughts concerning the finale: .

Last but not least, here are my final thoughts for Omen of the Stars! It’s hard to sort my thoughts for this arc honestly, but I’ll try. I liked it less than Power of Three since it felt more dragged out than the third arc, for example we he had so many obligatory travels. Generally, the pacing of the story was rather slow.

But not only the pacing, the story generally was weird. I liked the main plot with the Dark Forest but after some time, it felt so repetitive and nothing was really going forward at all, like the search for the fourth cat. Coming to this subject, everything about the three/four felt useless. We had the prophecy, this big riddle, but it had no significance in the end.

Ivypool and Dovewing were great POV characters though, and they both added different layers to the story which I liked. But it was just too much with Jayfeather’s and Lionblaze’s POV as well – and I think you all know what the Warriors community thinks about Lionblaze chapters.

It’s nice that with Dawn of the Clans, I will take a break from the current cats and go back to the old forest. Also, it is the first arc where I know nothing about at all!

Oh My Gosh.... I just got done reading it. I am trying to write this review in a blur of tears. Why did Firestar have to die. Why. He started out as a kittypet and his name was Rusty. Than he became Firepaw than Fireheart that a leader Firestar. Noticing from here on out in the books that a bunch of these cats wont be in them just makes my sick. I was absoutly shocked when I found out Firestar was the fourth cat! Hollyleaf. She died too. She had a rough life. She wanted to be a warriors have kits and a mate. Nope. She found out here mother is Leafpool. Her heart is destroyed wen she is not one of the three. She murders someone. She gets trapped in the underground tunnels than finally dies shortly after. Sorreltail and Ferncloud they die too.:((( Tallpoppy and Mousefur do too.:((( I wish Firestar would have survived. He would have actually but a tree got struck by lightning and feel on him. Sandstorm almost got killed by Mapleshade but Spottedleaf saved her that died.:( Leafpool and Crowfeather actually care for each other again when Brezzepelt tries to kill Lionblaze Crofeather comes in and attacks Brezzepelt. This was tough to read with all of these deaths. But now Brambleclaw kills his half brother Hawkfrost once more. And now he is Bramblestar and Squirrelflight is deputy. And Yellowfang kills her son Brokenstar once more too. That was a long review.

this was one of the saddest books i have ever read, but also one of the most meaningful. i cried a lot in my time reading this book for many different reasons one of them is because many of the cats lost someone dear to them, weather a cat died or a dead cat got killed like how Ivypool killed Antpelt after he died and joined the dark forest. but i did't just cry because cats died, i also cried because of how wholesome it was. it was wholesome because a lot of cats forgave each other after seasons upon seasons of hate and open hostility to one another. they forgave each other even if it seemed the other cat did't deserve to be forgiven. if you don't like read books about death or blood don't read this book.

I enjoyed the book, but I have multiple complaints here.

First of all, this one is pretty confusing sometimes. With the four clans AND StarClan fighting side by side during the great battle, there are just dozens of cat names rolling by, which makes it hard to know who is who at times. Especially because some cats we've barely heard of become the center of the attention. (It does however masterfully show how ALL the cats act as one against the Dark Forest, but still.)

Next issue I've got with this book is that it really is the pinnacle of the loss of any care for realism. In the beginning of the series, things the cats deemed magic by the clans were carefully explained so the reader would. This cycle, however, starts with Dovewing's amazing abilities, and it only gets worse when fallen warriors become able to kill living ones. (You could argue Tigerstar's been training warriors for a while. Yes, but until this cycle it could've been very vivid dreams and I found this explanation very interesting.)

Lastly, this book so very clearly endeavours to wrap up the cycle. It is repetitive in the way problems are solved. I'm especially thinking of couple drama. The rhetoric used by the cats right before they reconcile shouldn't be able to convince anyone. (This is part of a much larger issue of this whole series, and you'll tell me this is a kid's book. I know. But don't kids deserve plots and characters that aren't fake?)

All this being said, I'll keep reading (and complaining), because this series is so enjoyable and rediscovering it at 25 has done me a lot of good. The ending to this book is so great as well. I was outraged, and started crying, and had to talk about it all to someone. I'm still shocked and sad and happy, and I know 13-years-old me would have loved this.

TLDR: it has flaws, but I cried at the end.

How many reviewers so far have claimed that this series changed their life? Is it cliche and overused for me to say it?
I swear that these books changed my life.
I hated reading, and then I picked up a Warriors book.
After a while of reading these I began to think, "When are these going to end?!" but I regret those thoughts. The end of this book series is a true tragedy.

Okay, enough of the sentimentality (for now), here's my review:
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT. ENTER AT OWN RISK!
Knowing that this was the end of the series, I read through the book quite cautiously, hoping with every word I read that Firestar wouldn't die. I thought that if any cat died, so be it. Just not Firestar.
I'm not afraid to admit that I cried when he died, and then I grew completely numb. I thought of the beginning, how it all started with little Rusty's first venture into the forest...I'm starting to tear up again now, just thinking about it.
However, his death was completely random. I thought for sure he and Tigerstar would die battling each other. When he didn't die, I was hopeful...I had to read through his short, meaningless death twice to make sure I wasn't missing something. What kind of death was that for the cat who meant the most to the clans ever?! It was a complete disappointment.

Another disappointment was with Dovewing. Yes, I have a shipping obsession: Dovewing and Tigerheart. Since Bumblestripe was hinted at being Dovewing's love interest, I'd been watching him carefully. At the end of this book, when Dovewing clearly chose him over Tigerheart, I was more angry than I had been since Cinderpelt died.

Although there were some obvious disappointments in my opinion, I loved every moment of reading this. My childhood is over...I guess that means I should grow up now.

Pah no i didn't read this in a day...
Okay I totally did :P
I feel like this entire saga was a tiny bit slow, mostly because the climax had to happen at the end, and all the books leading up to it were just the building blocks to the climax, which served to make a rly good climax and a slightly slower overall saga imo. It was still rly entertaining though and I have a love/hate relationship about the ending...

Though I gotta say (in the least spoiler-y way possible) I feel like some relationship problems between certain characters were solved in a pretty rushed manner at the end. I was fine with it since obv I wanted those relationship problems to be solved, but it definitely felt like the writer was like "whoops, we're at the end and I've still got this loose thread, gotta quickly tie that up heheh" But that's just a slight inconsistency and it didn't at all ruin the experience for me.

Overall, a solid ending to the fourth Warriors series. The ending felt pretty rushed with lots of cats dying in the final battle and not much time given to each death, but the battle was also a great culmination to the series. I couldn’t remember if the ThunderClan cats (besides Ivypool) fought for their Clan or the Dark Forest but was very glad they chose correctly. I do feel like Hollyleaf was underutilized in this and like her return should’ve made her a bigger part of the story, but while she did play a big part at the end, during the rest of this book, she was barely there. I also am not sure I believe that the Clans would believe that Jayfeather killed Flametail; it all seems kind of ridiculous. But I’m glad StarClan finally reunited. And that Cinderpelt’s spirit was finally set free. And that Jayfeather finally forgave Leafpool. It feels crazy to tink there’s more that can happen in this series now that the OG main character is dead, but I remember the sixth series exploring some pretty interesting themes and am excited to rediscover where the series takes the Clans.
