All things beautiful are my passion. I enjoy anything that a masterful hand creates. Writing is one of those, and cooking is another. Both captured my interest and imagination at a very young age.
My first series, Mama's Legacy Cookbooks, was a pleasure to create because it allowed me to tap into both interests and to publish cookbooks that my audience can use and enjoy time and time again.
I began my love affair with cooking when I was very young. As soon as I could reach the counter top my mother gave me free range in the kitchen. I was allowed to mix and mix and mix, building my masterpieces. They were nothing more than wild combinations of flour, sugar, spices and water, but to me it was creating at its best. When I finished with each endeavor, we tossed it all and happily cleaned up the kitchen, looking forward to the next time. My creative spirit in the kitchen had taken root.
My first adventure in writing came my senior year in high school when I decided to take a writing correspondence course, which was very forward-looking for the time. I experienced the first thrill of putting pen to paper, and all these years later it is still one of the most pleasurable activities in my life.
If I had my druthers, I would write all the time. In fact, that is pretty much what I do because I have reached a point in my life where it is now possible.
In addition to the Mama's Legacy Cookbook Series, Attitude Adjustment, and this book; I have several other books written under pen names......and, I have a long list of books I plan to write.
All my work is non-fiction. Even though I love fiction, that has never been my focus and there are others who do it so much better than I. My choice has always been and will continue to be to write about topics that interest and intrigue me and to share what I discover with my readers.
Candy Making Made Easy by Nancy N Wilson is a wonderful reference for both the novice and expert candy maker. I attended a candy making class over thirty years ago. Since then I have continued to make several kinds of candy. Still I learned some new ways and recipes in this text. It is obvious that Ms. Wilson put diligent, thoughtful time into writing Candy Making Made Easy. It has deliberate and as the name implies easy to follow directions. I especially liked the extra suggestions given if some ingredient may not be common. The illustrations are a greatly appreciated bonus. I know not to take that for granted since I have several how-to e-books without any illustrations except for the one on the cover. Wonderful addition to anyone’s candy making library. If you haven’t made candy before, this book will give you the needed incentive to do so.
This cookbook is an excellent resource for candy making. The lists and explanations for getting started are thorough and very informative. The recipes have very easy to follow instructions and inexpensive ingredients. Some are even pantry ready! Another plus is that some of the recipes include photos. The are also links to more extensive instructions, very nice. I would recommend to anyone wanting to make candy. Any level of baker welcome, this cookbook is that easy to follow! Thank you for the recipes!
