Many people wish that when they talk to their dog, their dog could speak back to them. What if it was possible? Corporal Jack Randall serves on the Baltimore City Police Department in the K-9 Unit with Boss, his huge German Shepherd. He volunteers himself and his dog for a top secret government program where they will be implanted with new electronic technology that will enable him to send silent commands to his dog and the dog to send sensory information back to him. The implants will make them much more effective as they prowl the streets and alleys of Baltimore in search of criminals. What could go wrong? While Jack is learning more about the program, he is introduced to Heather Jamison, a young woman who worries about his safety. Everything goes as planned until Jack finds out the CIA is controlling the research through Colonel Joseph Meyer, the man he trusts with his own well being and the life of his dog. Jack does his best to keep the incredible results of the experiment hidden from Colonel Meyer and the CIA, but he knows that sooner or later the secret agency will want to take them back to the clandestine facility where the implants were put into place. He knows they probably won't survive the next round of experiments.
