From the Back It was Passion at First Sight... Catherine's blind date with Zack Freeman, a notoriously charming Australian tycoon, was the last thing she needed. And more than a one-night stand... The second they met, Catherine recognized sexual challenge in Zack's eyes. Their date let to one unforgettable night--with consequences that would change their lives forever... I love a good book that surprises me and harlequins rarely surprise me. This one did. I loved the Characters, loved that they were flawed and had issues. This book was full of emotions that made you really feel for the couple. Emma Darcy also really knows how to write great steamy love scene.
Emma Darcy is the pseudonym created by the married writing team of Wendy (1940-2020) and Frank Brennan (1936-1995). Their life journey has taken as many twists and turns as the characters in their stories, whose international popularity has resulted in over sixty-million book sales. With more than a hundred titles, Emma Darcy appeared regularly on the Waldenbooks bestseller lists in the U.S.A. and in the Nielson BookScan Top 100 chart in the U.K.
Wendy was born 28 November 1940 in Australia. Her sister was the novelist Maureen Mary (Miranda Lee). Her father was a country school teacher and brilliant sportsman. Her mother was a talented dressmaker. She obtained an Honours degree in Latin and initially worked as a high school English/French teacher. She married Frank Brennan, an Australian businessman born in 1936. She changed careers to computer programming before marriage and motherhood settled her into a community life. She was reputedly the first woman computer programmer in the southern hemisphere.
As voracious readers, the step to writing their own books seemed a natural progression and the challenge of creating exciting stories was soon highly addictive. They were published since 1983. In 1993, for the Emma Darcy pseudonym's 10th anniversary, they created the "Emma Darcy Award Contest" to encourage authors to finish their manuscripts. After the death of Frank Brennan in 1995, Wendy wrotes books on her own. She lived in a beachside property on the central coast of New South Wales, and liked to travel extensively to research settings and increase her experience of places and people.
Wendy Brennan passed away on December 21, 2020. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and sister, writer Miranda Lee.
Hanya saja, akhirnya Cath bersedia melakukan kencan buta atas dorongan adiknya.
I tried to read it and ended up read skimming it. Totally disliked the hero and the heroine, well I wish she could have not been so wimpy/wussy in her "love" lust/attraction or whatever for the hero. Did not like their first meeting and their "one night stand". Sorry but lust doesn't equate to love.
Previous review: I agree with the previous reviewer the one who said this book sucks!! Maybe she wasn't more descriptive but here is what I can can say about this book: I'm sorry but lust does not equate to love and romance. The hero is absolutely horrible in that he is just a freaking player/sex addict. The fact that this book starts with the two having a one night stand and then separated from nine months and then back at it again. As for the heroine I wish she could have had more pride in herself. Good lord. She did nothing to break the hero's notion that he's gods gift to women. The only characters I like in this book is the heroine's sister. Sure the sex scenes seemed hot but thats all they were sex scenes, NOT love scenes.
Made the mistake of starting this book after midnight! I could not stop reading till I finished the book at 4.30am!
Who knew a book about blind date and one night stands could be so heartbreaking? I think the hero redeemed himself beautifully at the end.

The LA episode was heart wrenching... I was very happy that Zack did not go into asshole mode and started freaking out and accusing Catherine. Instead he was calm, stepped up to the plate and did what he could to help look after Catherine first. He really could have gotten very angry with Catherine, because she outright lied, but kudos to him that he listened to her reasons and explanation first...then reflected and admitted that no way could he have interrupted their lovemaking that night too...and he regretted he had not done things in a better way for her.
I really felt for Catherine, her anguish when Livvy was gushing about her pregnancy while her own emotions and thoughts were all jumbled up.
Zack had a business plan, and with daddy issues, he could not afford to start a relationship, let alone a family when he met Catherine. He was always and totally upfront that that's all he could give, but each time Catherine gave in willingly. But when things happened he was quick to change his priorities and mindset. THEN HE WENT AFTER WHAT HE WANTED! "Storm the barricades." Bravo!
This is a story of two sexually attracted people who adapted when things and situation changed, then was able to see the best and worst in each other and still willing to make a go at a relationship. Well done!
Me encanto.
Most of the way through the story he annoyed me. He was using her for sex. No two ways about it. I gave the story four stars because I loved the very beginning and the end.
